...Actually Sailor moon does selective references or makes their very own set of meanings actually.

Their references span from Roman -not much Greek- and then of course Japanese. Hello Bunny on the Moon? XD

Though by now, the whole planetary scouts would now have lost it's meaning since Pluto is no longer considered a planet anymore.

I'll use the word equivalent since the Roman and Greek ones aren't exactly the same, they had the same'sh functions but greatly differ on some parts too.

If we go by the Roman myth systems, Saturn would not be a planet of death at all. Saturn was the equivalent of Chronos, one of the Titans who bore the twelve Olympians. He was later on overthrown by his own son Zeus. I forgot the Roman story though.

Chronos was the Titan of time. I forgot what his wife controlled.

Pluto was the Roman equivalent of Hades. He ruled of the stuff underground including precious metals and stones. Hence in modern geology, we have terms called plutonic and non-plutonic (I think) terms to refer to the stones that are made underground and on the overground. He did not just rule the Underworld here.

So if you ask me, Naoko Takeuchi actually mixed up the meanings for Saturn and Pluto. >3>;
