update on the school thing:

*beats people* so none of the classes I wanted to take are offered when I could take them. story of my life. in fact, half of the classes I wanted to take aren't even offered this semester. but I'll need to wait to take other classes that I need until after I have taken the classes that I wanted because the ones I wanted are prerequisites. How bull shit is that?
anyway, I ended up taking 2 online courses...so any of you who have taken them can you give me some advice? I'm really scared I'll end up procrastinating and failing... blaaahhh... I still need to go back in about financial aid and getting my ID card... and there was something else but I forget what right now.
In any case. My schedule should be moderately easy...it's just not what I wanted.

and I really shouldn't be complaining since they ARE required classes for my degree...I just didn't want to take them all at once.

<3 thanks Roo. The bouquets were re done so I decided to use the pink one. Luckily it matched a bunch of items I already have...not that that stopped me from spending almost 3k on more random commons for this outfit. XD I'm still unsure of the hair though. ^^;;

As far as online classes go - they're not too bad, but they do take a ot of time.

I found that the professor worked in weeks - each one started their week on a different day (usually Monday was day 1).

I checked in the first day to see what readings/ assignments we had. I then tried to check in at least 3 more times over the course of the week to reply to discussions and be part of the class.

Since you spend a lot of time online it won't be too difficult - but just make sure you check in to the class at least in the beginning, middle, and end of each week. The more you post and 'participate' the more presence you have - it's proof that you are there any 'paying attention'.

My classes were discussion geared - I would only read about 1/2 of the replies but I would try to make sure I posted my own thoughts and then reply to at least 1 or 2 people - this way it looked like I was actually reading everything that was posted :XP

Thanks Sia. <3 I'm still pretty nervous about the classes. ^^;; I'm taking Sociology and Art history online. Art History shouldn't be too bad, but I'm not entirely sure what Sociology is. XD

I've never been in a course with out someone there to lecture me though. XD

How do midterms/finals or other tests work with online courses?

Our professors put the exams online and you have a total time limit to take it - each questions pops up and you have multiple choice answers and at the end of the exam you get a chance to review before you submit.

For courses like art and sociology I would imagine papers need to be turned in instead of exams - but I don't know how they will run the course.

Some of our faculty record videos of their lectures and post them each week so students still watch a lecture - some of them just post a transcript and notes - others just post reading and articles and discussion questions.

I'm sure you'll do OK no matter what - as long as you keep on top of it and don't let yourself fall behind :yes:

I had a much better day today then I did friday or saturday. <3 Scott and I were fighting both days and finally made up last night. so now that that is in the past (once again. >.<) we went shopping, spent a lot of time cooking and cleaning and it was just all around a good sunday.
Even managed to go to church this morning! The sermon was pretty good...since it touched on what we were fighting about. ^^;;
