Be proud of me. After posting that message, I got up the courage and called the person I am going to be speaking about on Thursday. I've got about a page of my speech written. I'm going to time myself saying it later at the pace I want to speak it at and see how long it is. so I know how much more needs to be added. xD

It snowed last night. But not enough for pictures. </3 and it didn't start until after midnight, and Scott had the paper route so I wasn't going to wake him to go take pictures with me anyway. I hope it snows again tonight. I want pictures dang it!

Still have lots of homework to do, but I wanted to pop on and say hey. <3
No school today, two things due tomorrow... maybe 3 I need to double check due dates. @[email protected] So much stuff!

I also started a video game. (part of my new years resolution, play and beat 5 video games and read 40 books. One video game down, two books down. I ordered some from barnes and noble since they had them at super prices, and I should be getting those today. *squee*)

I just spent almost 3k on new clothes for this avi since I thought they -might- work. ...and they don't. I'm saddened. The arms need green but the only green arm things are paired with black or too dark of a green color. poo.

I hated doing speeches/presentations - I generally got better but I used to blush like crazy. xD I'm sure you'll do great Melmel.

Aw man, snow? We never get snow, just horrible slushy mush because it's always too wet to settle and no where near enough either.

I made quite a few new years resolutions, some being: to read 50 books this year, complete at least 1 scrapbook and, of course, get a job. x.x I feel like ordering myself some more books now actually - my shelf is looking all prettyful with my new books.

And Melmel's avis always look beautiful! Like a fairy princess. :D

Both of you have wonderful New Year's resolutions, unfortunately for me reading 40-50 books is something that could happen in a couple of months. Got no life. Should start playing Need for Speed Most Wanted again since I am around 40% done with the game, but reading is so much better! Or being on here and talking with everyone.

Very proud of you with the speech thing, Mel. It's not easy, but the more you do it, the more you feel comfortable. Use the passion you have the for the subject to fuel your speech, can't go wrong with that and it makes it easier to talk about, less stuttering.

Queen: I feel like I'd get through a lot more than 50 books in a year if I had that many books. So don't feel bad ... I think it's a good thing to read lots. ^^

My older sister and I will be eventually run out of room on one side of the massive book shelf we have. Thankfully there are a few smaller ones we can start filling up.

My most memborable speech I ever made was in 4th grade.

I spoke a 2 minute speech in under 45 seconds!

That's kind of funny Daashi. Were you that nervous?

Yes, I hate public speaking.

Did not help that I had to speak in a different class and everybody looking at me with the most stupid expressions on their faces.

Happens like that sometimes. When I was in 5th grade, we had to dress up like the characters from the Wizard of Oz and go around to various classes and sing the songs. There were only 4 of us doing it. Kind of scary for the first few classes and then it got easier. Loved being the scare crow.

God I am still no better at public speaking! Although I now breath during speeches. But that could be because that speeches that were required for later grades had to be longer than 2 minutes.

For the longest time, I would focus on only one person in the room when I talked. Now I am much better about making eye contact with multiple people. Breathing was never an issue for me.
Just can't stand people that make speeches, but excessively say, Um. That drives me nuts faster then you stuttering or tripping on your words. When I worked customer service, counted my coworker one time on the phone, she said "Um" 30 times in 3 minute conversation. Not good. Saying Um makes it sound like you didn't practice your speech, or at least remember what you wanted to say.

And for the most part people would have to hear me.

When I get nervous my throat tightens and my voice gets real quiet, trying to make my voice louder hurts.

Just realize that you took my post and put it as your signature...that makes me giggle.

That sucks, Daashi. Thankfully you don't have to do a lot of public speaking in your job?

One phrase Queen.

"Customer service", you have to do a lot of talking to people you don't know. That had to be the worst part of being a checkout chick.

See, I loved customer service. Most of my jobs have been customer service because I've got the natural ability to chat up people and very good at listening. Scary, really. Always thought of myself as shy, until I said that to my father one day and he laughed. Telling me that I was ludacris for believing that, since he has never seen someone chat so easily with strangers.
My job before this one was constantly about being on the phone, talking with doctor's, nurses, other medical staff, members from various walks of life and the health insurance companies. There were 4 of us in that office at one point and I was the only one that liked to answe the phone. Everyone else complained about it...making me chuckle since that was all our job pretty much was about.

Nope, to this day I can just about strike up a conversation with someone anywhere. Amazes the hell out of my father.
Glad that I took the initiative to sign up for internet dating since that is where I met my boyfriend. Really happy about doing that, even if people thought it was a weird idea.

Any weirder then say two people meeting on Gaia and ending up married? My friend Fflur met her husband on Gaia back in its early days (before the small invading army of retarded teenagers showed up) when decent conversations were plentiful and it was enjoyable.
Known a few more people that have met on the internet and gone on to marital bliss.

Unless you have been stalked via the internet.

Someone who I knew in RL stalked me through my email address.

Hmm...that would be a bit creepy, Daashi. Haven't heard about anything like that before. Don't go many places, just here, and randomly my myspace page. With Rodd being gone, not much point in checking that though. So here it is.

*shudders* Creepage! There is a guy at work that seems like he would be really friendly, smiles a lot and likes to chat, but he just gives off the creepy weird guy vibe. Happen to look up from my screen and he was strolling by.

Andais has a myspace page? and I'm not added as a friend? D: [/sad]

I'm ok with customer service, I like helping people. xD I've never really had a problem with talking to people on the phone, or in person so long as it's one or two people at a time. But that's a more personal conversation than giving a speech. I've never been a real public person. xD

I've been stalked via the internet before. A friends ex boyfriend was terrorizing me and her since he blamed me for their break up. Totally emo and creepy guy. He got a couple of his friends to join in too. I had to delete about half of my livejournal and a bunch of other stuff that I had posted online since he just would not stop. But I refuse to live my life in fear. I wrote him and most of the people that associated with him out of my life both irl and internet and I haven't had a problem since. (:

Working more on my speech. Gonna call the guy again tonight and go over the speech with him. See if he wants me to add anything. I'm feeling kinda good about it. Nervous, but good. *cheers*
