Awwww <3 Be pampered mellie it's good for you :)
Dillon did most of the dishes yesterday/today but he didn't have enough time to get the pans... Which I need... :P
OMG Sean found a new Shaun the Sheep <3 Timmy Time... It is basically Shaun the sheep but more for Toddlers... Dill says that Wallace and Gromit are for Teens/Adults Shaun the Sheep from Mikes age (though Sean still LOVES that show and watches Wallace and Gromit too) and Timmy Time is for Toddlers... Shaun shows up in at least one episode of Wallace and Gromit and Timmy is the baby in Shaun the Sheep LOL

I always wondered what that little sheep was named. It was so friggan cute!
My hubby is awesome.
I really like Bleach. Out of all the ones I'm watching right now it is by far my favorite. I've even ordered #1-10 of the manga. ^^;; I highly recommend it. Inuyasha I haven't really watched since last July, but have been meaning to...but I always choose Bleach over it. xD Perhaps when I finish off Bleach I'll get back to it. I liked Kagome and Inuyasha fine, they're just not Ichigo. And he amuses me greatly.

I want to watch it but I know I've misses I think almost 200 episodes and that's what akes me not start it at all. It's always looked really interesting though :)
one that I like but it's so sad is Full Moon Wo Sagashite. I watched that one with matthew and even he'd get sad but it's still an amazing anime.
lets see...
shaun owns tsubasa chronicle. I pretty much stole it from him. It's still in my house :P
other animes I own: chobits, get backers, dn angel, xxxHolic, case closed (some), his and hers circumstances and elfin lied. Most of those are just really girly animes honestly but I love them. I don't own many. I wish it weren't so expensive. that and cartoon field closed and I can't think of any other place that sells it aside from this small section in best buy or Fry's. I know I check whenever I go visit shaun for his break at work. Sometimes I get there too early so I go check out what they have.

The big chunky sheep is named Sharell I think I totally spelled that wrong... :P And the dogs name starts with a B like Bitzer or something like that... If you read the netflix explanations of the episodes the defined sheep have names. But Timmy has his own show it is super cute and OMG the song is dang catchy!!! *sings in her head*
I haven't watched anime in SO long... I just don't have much tolerance for subtitles and I haven't seen one that I'm interested in in English yet...

There are less episodes of Bleach on Netflix then there are Naruto or Inuyasha. xD
I only seem to like the ones with subtitles. Scott really likes Negima!? But I haven't gotten into it because Negi's voice really annoys me. But it's in English.
I was getting Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles via Netflix for the DVD's that they mailed, but then I got rid of that service (this was before the price jump, we were moving and I didn't want to deal with them sending movies when we weren't going to be at the address long). But we've not reinstated it because of the price. >.<
I watched elfin lied...and I couldn't get into it. I watched the entire series in various stages of WTFness. I just don't understand that one at all. The only anime I actually own is Cardcaptor Sakura. xD I keep wanting to buy Kenshin I just haven't yet. But I will, eventually. Because I fell in love with that series back when I was still friends with Kristen! And...I haven't seen the end yet! lol.

Erica got me into kenshin and I think she got into it also from ken shin. I own the movies but not the series. I think andrew owns quite a bit of the manga but he stopped buying it.
I don't have netflix but shaun does and I just use his account for instant play stuff. Apparently they don't check so... shaun has about 8 people using his account for the instant play stuff. He doesn't care so long as people say haven't seen it when movies they've seen pop up that he hasn't watched. So far, he hasn't gotten in trouble for it.. I hope he never does. But it works.
Subtitles or not depends on my mood and how tired I am. sometimes I just don't feel like reading and I now need glasses to read subtitles from across the room so if I'm tired I usually don't feel like wearing my glasses. That's when I go for things that are english.

I don't think there is a real way to track it honestly without tracking ISP number I'd think... And that would suck for us cause we've changed internet providers 3 times since we started Netflix as well.... How could the keep up with those changes you know... Dillon and I share a netflix account and the boys use it the most.

Scott and I share an account as well. It calls him Mellie whenever he logs in. The only problem I've ever had with it is trying to log on and watch a show when he's already watching one. Apparently you can't watch two things from different TV/Monitors at the same time. Who knew? For a while there were random things popping up on our watched list that I know neither of us had watched. I changed my password and that took care of it. (: though I honestly can't remember my password anymore.

Really? Because I got a pop up saying that I couldn't watch a show while another device was in play. O.o This was before I changed my password though, so perhaps my hijacked account had 5 devices in play? Which is a very very odd thought.

I don't know Dillon works taking orders for Comcast and he gets orders for people who have like 25 TV's (who the heck has that many TV's???? ) and he doesn't take commercial calls ONLY residential... I have a BIG house and it doesn't even have 25 rooms! That is counting the bathrooms, laundry room living room and kitchen... So how could you even house that many TVs lol.
I haven't tried a whole lot lately so maybe they are doing something different the last one I tried to watch while the boys were watching was Weird Science and I kind of ehhh'ed at it after a few minutes and turned it off. Our new internet probably couldn't support two shows running at once... But I don't know for sure... Stupid Comcast is freaking 98 a month though and that is at half price they were going to increase it after a year? I think... Were as Century Link is only 54 a month and it has a price lock for 5 years :/ the difference is one is like 16 megs through a coaxle line while Century Link is 7megs (at best ours is 5megs currently) though a phone line :/

you can. shaun and I do all the time :) But not the same thing. There's sometimes when I've loaded something he was already watching and then it just loads from the point he's at in the movie. Shaun and I have kind of used that to watch things at the same time but before that we would just use netflix on xbox. But, I quit paying for my xbox gold membership since I really don't use it. But otherwise yeah.. shaun's definitely watching something at home and even andrew and I have been watching two different things at the same time as him too. So it should work.. I think... One of andrew's lit classes made him watch a whole bunch of versions of beowulf. So he was watching that. Shaun was watching The Expendables and I was watching Up. lol. I'm so different than shaun movie interest wise but he supports my disney habits so I'm happy :)
Ooooo power went out for a bit there. sad because I think that means my comp upstairs needs a new surge protector. I think I might just buy it a back up power supply. seems like it'd be safer. My modem didn't handle the outage too well.
my family is tv crazy. we have 13 but none of them are above 22" >.< which annoys shaun. he likes big screen tvs.

We have one TV. And I'm totally content with just the one. We might get another one for our bedroom at a later date, but neither of us are really OMG let's get it now! It's still in the meh stage right now. I like my bedroom being for sleeping/reading and out in the livingroom for TV/conversation. I like ours. It's a 48" plasma.
We have a backup power adapter thing for the computer. It's pretty darn awesome. It's got two power strips on the back of it, one side has the battery back up and surge protection the other side is just surge protection. I highly recommend them.

TV is so low on my priority list of things to buy but I really do need a new one. I don't like my xbox or game consoles ghetto rigged in general. and some of my favorite games, if I try to play them it cuts off all the subtitles. My tv is pre widescreen anything >.<

we have 3 TVs one of which I HATE having. It was given to the boys by my sister and mom. And it annoys the crap out of me. Though they don't abuse it too much there are just days that it irks me that a 7 and 3 year old have a TV in their room it is NEVER something I wanted my kids to have. I wouldn't have minded it if they were older and had earned having a TV but really its just a hassle that they can be defiant with once they catch on that they watch movies even when I say no more TV....
The other TV lives in our bedroom and is a waste of space... It hasn't been plugged in for over a year. It doesn't hook up to older game systems so we can't use is at like a gaming TV. It doesn't have a VCR/DVD player on it (attached or built in cause our only DVD/VCR is downstairs) It was made so all it needs is an antenna so it doesn't need a converter box but it doesn't pick up any channels and we only have one gaming system new enough to run Netflix so it is /fail all the way around....
The living room TV is the only one that can do more then just play a video so it is used most often

I had a tv at 7 but I had to buy it myself. And it's the same tv I still have in my room lol. Those old block tis are awesome! But my parents were really strict. when they said tv off it meant tv off and we always had to earn our electronics. So I didn't get my vcr for 2 more years and my cd player the 2 years after that >.< So, I was behind as far as my friends in electronics but I definitely always took care of my stuff because it had been "earned". granted, its still not the same. I don't think anyone really grasps the concept of earned until they actually work. I just had to keep my room clean and not smack my brother (unwarranted smacking. I was excused for some things :P ) But anyway if they're being defiant, unplug it and I suggest putting a hook that locks the plug in place where they can't get to it. my mom did that to andrew but then he'd try climbing on things to get to it. SOOOO she took it for a week and put it in the garage and reminded him every time that if he even tried to get that cord she'd take it again and for longer. That was pretty effective. he never disobeyed her again.

We had to earn our TV in our room... And that was quite a feat since my sister and I shared a room and couldn't get along to save our lives. Come to think of it I think she earned the TV based on my actions >.>; I don't think the whole time we shared a room she EVER helped clean it. And when I moved into my own room I didn't have a TV anymore.... What the heck man... I got a TV again shortly before I got pregnant with Mikes. O_o;; The real kicker was I wasn't allowed to take the TV with me when I moved out :/
We do unplug their TV when they are in trouble... It requires an extension cord to work where it is at so we also take that away.... The hard one to punish them from is the radio because they have our old alarm clock. And it doubles as an AM/FM radio. Both boys actually prefer the radio to the TV but they abuse it a TON more as well by playing it too loud (their bedroom is right next to our living room so it is easy for it to get too loud) or playing stations I don't approve of... >.>; Michael won't leave it on the station I say is ok to listen to so he gets in trouble for it a lot for putting on Rap stations that I can hear masses of curse words and f***in' my b****es etc and I get really mad. That is his dad's doing in my opinion. He use to listen to my music (country, pop and alternative with some occasional rock thrown in, this is just stuff I listen to on the radio my MP3 player is pretty bipolar...) now all he wants to listen to is rap :/ grr... Come on "music" artists come out with something new and less offensive already... OR Will Smith needs to make more rap songs :P kid appropriate and such... What is bad is not everything I listen to is completely kid appropriate. I mean Katy Perry's California Girls is my generic ring tone :P They don't catch the innuendos yet but she is kinda... dirty lol... /getting waaaay off subject.... Anyhow I can't take the alarm away but they do listen for the most part when they are told they can't do something so I should be grateful. Michael was grounded from TV and video games in general about a month ago. And he even went to his dad's and stayed away from the video games and the TV even though his dad said he didn't have to follow my rules at his house :/

Katy Perry is one of my favorites at the moment. xD She's fun...and dirty. lulz.
Because it amuses me and makes me go "D:" at the same time: My little surro baby Owen has a 52" flat screen in his bedroom. As to the Dads in their room, and a 60" in their living room. Those are the only 3 rooms in their apartment. A one year old, has his own television. WHY THE HELL??
I earned a tv for good grades at my moms house. I think it was sophomore year, I'd gotten a 4.0 two quarters straight so they let me take the extra TV and put it in my room. However, if my mom was watching something downstairs, she would send my brothers/sisters up to my room to watch whatever they wanted to watch, but it was never what I wanted to watch. So we'd argue (it was MY tv in MY room, why the hell do they get a say??) and so it was taken away. :/ I will never understand that move of theirs. I earned the TV through my grades...but they treated it like it was just another TV in the house. If that was the case they should have put it in their room instead of offering it up to the kid with the best grades. It really pissed me off, and still gets to me. I don't want wrestling on my TV (my sister was totally into it, but it was on at the same time as Survivor which my mom obsessed over) and so she would send my sister up to watch it on my tv? Oh hells no! I think Gilmore Girls was also on at the same time and that's what I wanted to watch! /fail.
My kids won't be getting TV's for a while. If ever actually. I just don't see the point. Why make it even easier for them to be anti social teenagers? At least with only the one tv in the house, anything that they want to be watching I know about, and can watch as well. Movies, video games etc. I think it makes keeping an eye on them much easier. I know I can't prevent them from using their money and buying their own electronics should they desire to, but I can make it that much harder on them. ;)

See we had the same problem except that my sister and I shared a TV and my two brothers shared a TV. If the boys were fighting over something while my mom was watching TV she'd send them one of them into my room... ??? Not cool what the heck it was bad enough that my sister and I could NEVER agree on what to watch. EVER!!!... Add one of the boys to the mix and it was a freaking nightmare. Though my sister was told to go to their room (I refused... The boys room always smelled like pee and BO... youngest brother had an issue similar to Mikes where he'd sleep walk and pee in corners and such) a few times as well... I wonder why my mom didn't just watch TV in her own room :/
I'd agree with you Mellie. My youngest brother is going on 17 this year. And he doesn't ever leave his room... Between Cable and his Xbox he doesn't do ANYTHING but sit. And my mom wonders why he has a really bad weight problem that is affecting (effecting? I hate those two words :P) his heart really negatively. He was kicked off the football team this year after he got his physical because of his cholesterol or something like that after my mom spent like $500 on the uniform and fundraisers... I am hoping the DVD player in the boys TV goes out soon. Cause it will justify me getting rid of the thing. :) As long as my mom doesn't pester me about getting them a new one it will be nice just to have the living room TV functioning :)....
I should take a picture of the flat screen box TV we have upstairs, and put it on Craigslist. I have a TON of things I want to put on there... I am just a slacker... Now would be a good time since we need money for Christmas.

My parents never rewarded good grades. my mom always said we had to get As or be punished. Idk. But that didn't matter for any of us till high school. Otherwise it was like Bs? what are those? from all of us but seriously we'd get the As just for completing things. She did say though that if we finished high school with a 4.0 average that we'd get cars when we graduated. But I blew that with AP chem and andrew and I both dropped the ball big time when my grandma died. So no cars for either of us. Matthew might. She's making him do the middle college high school thing like andrew. Matthew's actually got a couple thousands saved though. He's been the one of us to never spend any money on his own electronics. My grandma bought him a TV when he was 2 and it really wasn't bad. he always watched age appropriate things and only for short times. And then when my grandma died she left him her TVs so actually the tv in he the living room is also his tv. Of course, he understands that now and, since he's old enough, he gets the ultimate say on what plays downstairs. He always vetoes Everybody Loves Raymond and anything on Lifetime. No one minds. My family is kind of big on your stuff being YOUR stuff. Like my mom never uses my mixer or anything without asking. But she does let me use her stuff without asking. mostly because I make dinner a lot. But honestly we've always been financially lucky so its not really like andrew and I ever had to share. Most we'd fight over is that I'd only get girly toys for xmas and I didn't like girly toys. I wanted his legos and his ninja turtles. I was weird. But it worked out. I think my mom coped out and just bought tons of legos and told us they belonged to my mom so.. andrew and I ended up building things together instead of fighting.
I'm not sure if my kids will get TVs or not. Shaun wants them to when they're around 7. But he also wants them to get internet and online games at 11. I flat out say no to that. I don't think I'm letting them have internet till they're 15 and even then I'm still going to go crazy with parental controls (worse than high school as far as blocking) and if they ever want an account on a social media site it's going to be a requirement that shaun and I are friends on them. They shouldn't be doing anything on any website that shaun and I should be angry about. Same with cell phones. that's going to be a rule too. Shaun and I will be taking it at ay time and reading messages. If they don't agree and argue then they don't need to have one. I'm glad shaun's really on board with me for the social media and cell phone thing at least. But I wish he would be with the MMORPG thing. I've played wow for years and I KNOW I've met predators and such there and I just don't want my kids exposed. With my anti social media/cell phone thing its really my way of forcing them to not be apart of any sort of cyber bullying and also making them talk to people in person. I don't know. I know Matthew's friends got their phones and computers in elementary school and I have no doubt my kids will want all of that stuff really young. I don't want to be mean but at the same time, I feel like they'll be better for it if I am.

Cell phones will happen when my kids need them: IE I feel they're old enough to go out on their own and I want them to be able to call me if necessary. Probably around 15. I don't see a need for one before then.

matthew has one already and got one at 9. His was pretty necessary though because of belonging to Jazz band. Sometimes his band teacher would cancel practice and he'd have to be able to call us and let us know. But i don't know. I wasn't allowed to go out and as much as I hated it I might be the same with my kids.

If Michael's father ever follows threw (that is the wrong spelling but I am blanking so there) with the threat that he is going to take me to court for more overnights and to establish being able to take Michael to Kansas. THE SECOND they rule any of that in his favor, I am going to get Michael a cell phone. I've said that since the threat came when he was 4 or 5 years old.... So far he hasn't made an effort to actually do anything for it yet.
As for the other two, it really depends on circumstances... What each kiddo is like how responsible they are etc. If one of them doesn't go out much like my youngest brother, I wouldn't see a need for a cell phone... But we'll see as they get older

Whenever I stayed late for clubs/practices I would use the office phones if it was canceled. xD There are ways around the need of a cell phone imo.
It's finally lightening up outside. I should probably go shovel some of the snow that came down last night. It was hard backing the car out this morning over the little pile the plows left when they came through yesterday, I can imagine if they get to our unit before I leave for picking the kids up (which is highly unlikely) that it will be even harder to get the car over the bump. *sigh*

The office for palm actually closes now. It's part of their paying teachers less campaign. It's weird. So once it was canceled and none was there and he couldn't call. After that we got him one. He's not allowed to use it for fun though. My parents were just crazy strict as far as sheltering Andrew and me. I'd say I'm not going to be the same. but I know I will be. >.< I really don't think I'm going to let my kids out no mater how mature they are. Its not really that I wouldn't trust them, I have insane distrust of other people because of what's happened to me. And I'm really uncaring about their needs as far as being social in high school and hanging out. I want them to talk to people while at school but I don't feel like they need to go hang out at the mall later or at a friends house or any of that. I'd rather be the mean "horrible" parent like my mom but with a spin. I feel like when they're in high school they need to be focused on something already. If they're goal is pursing something academic, I want them at home working on their academics. And if they want art or music, I'll get them the private teachers and the expensive supplies to work on that too but also at home. I want them to have something they love and want to really support them in that. And maybe if they have one friend or 2 that have been the tried and true type maybe that person can be the exception (go hang out with person). It just seems like anything else, is a waste.
