Waxing has always scared me. I attempted waxing my legs once, my hair was too fine, so mostly it just pulled on the hair and hurt like crazy...with out removing much. Total waste of my time, and...it hurt. ):

I feel the same about mariachi, but will suffer through it if I'm eating really good food at a Mexican restaurant... lol

One of the best mexican restaurants here in Phoenix doesn't play it, I was surprised. My parents fell in love with the place.

Waiting for my pizza...so hungry!

I don't like mariachi music either. but I can deal with it. It just makes me laugh. really.

first day went well.

I had 1 day to design a t shirt and I don't think I like it but the wall climbing dept loved it so, yay?

they have such a fast turn around. Its definitely going to take some getting used to. But I like the people.

Sounds like it's a good fit for you, at least so far.

When August hits, I am going to start looking for new jobs to post out to within the company.

the only thing that might not be a good fit is that its so quick. well, maybe.. I know that if I had more time, this shirt design would have been much different. actually.. I can show you how different. what I had planned would have only taken 30 more minutes.. but it was due at 5. so I didn't get everything accomplished that I had wanted to.

The one on the right is what I turned in at 5pm :( the one on the left is what I wish I had had time for.

There's also 2 other designers. so there were 4 things due by 5 on my first day.

Did the other designers have more time? In any case, now you know more about what you're doing (or have had some hands on experience with the entire process) so hopefully you can streamline it more in the future and be able to turn in what you wanted to turn in instead of what you did. Though I don't think what you turned in was at all bad, though I do agree that the 30 more minutes one is more creative/better. ^^;;

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Job wise- A girl that's been a cashier at the exchange for 3 months is currently training to be a manager. I'm hoping to do that as well. Manager pay is nicer than non manager pay, they get more house AND it will look awesome on a resume. (: Though the turn around rate for people at the exchange seems pretty bad. In the 6 months one of my co-workers has been there 5 people have left, and that's just from downstairs. I'm not seeing it as a stressful job, and the people that come in are nice and everything so I don't know why people leave. I'm hoping it's just because spouses got transferred or they got higher paying/more hours jobs elsewhere. Since ya know, most people that are working are working to support their families not because they're bored out of their minds) But yeah. Manager time would be nice. (:

the other designers got to just alter existing files. I had to work from scratch on this one. Its much easier to just change some text and select some objects and make them a different color or move objects around than draw from scratch.

that also wasn't quite 30 minutes. more like 5. Since the laurels i added are from another project I had done but in that other project they were also around 30 ish minutes of work. I'm all picky with my curves lol.

sigh I forgot to drop off my new prescriptions. I hate that every pharmacy in moreno valley closes at 6. it seems so stupid. I guess it does make sense though. theoretically, there aren't prescriptions prescribed on weekends since doctor's offices are not open on weekends. :(

they did that to me for LJS. I was a cashier for my training and then I think 2 weeks after probation they made me a shift leader. not a big pay increase but a lot more responsibility. It so wasn't worth it. Especially since those workers were all so lazy. And I HATE having to play babysitter to bad kids. which was what that was. Cashier sitting in the back texting, people not cleaning like they should. They all hated me because I'd make them do stuff. but I don't care. I'm not risking my job for lazy people, ever.

lol, We don't really have that issue. At least, not really. I mean we'll randomly text people back but that's only during down times at work. The main issue I have is one manager running upstairs and hiding from downstairs. If there are two cashiers working it's not an issue, but when it's just me and the line gets long and she doesn't respond to her page, or even come down at the time that I've requested getting a break...it really irks me. ):< Like Hello! I'm still new at this! I need to make sure of some things before I do them and if it's just me I sure as heck can't leave the register area unattended for longer than putting movies back on the rental shelves.

I have a coffee date today with some co-workers! ^o^

And Tom sent me a present in the mail: Pokemon Platinum (because he knows I'm a nerd) and so I've been playing that this weekend. Oddly enough, I think this is the only one of a set that I didn't have (Like out of the two games that come out together I buy one, and I had neither of this set) so my nerdy side is happy.

In the mail I also got my order from venus. Suit jacket+ pencil skirt. And 3 work shirts. $150 total, luckily my first pay check will cover that. but now I have some very nice looking collared shirts and a suit for the funeral (because that's what I'm concerned about when it comes to Scotts dad, having something to wear at the funeral. I'm horrible! D: )

I didn't mind in downtime. but idk, if you worked at LJS you'd know what I mean by There should NEVER be downtime. That store was so dirty... crumbs everywhere. oil everywhere. there should have never been time to text back. And I really was like that "if you have time to lean you have time to clean" sort of mentality because it was that grimy/filthy in there. That restaurant was so gross. it really does't surprise me that it eventually was just shut down.

no coffee dates with my coworkers yet but Anki (trying to remember names) offered to buy me a milkshake along with everyone else. She's like the momma of the office peoples. I can so tell that already. My boss likes Jazz. I was thinking I'd give him a cd of kensho's music but idk. maybe that's too early for stuff like that. He also can't seem to remember my name. He asks me each time he sees me if its Cassandra or CassOndra and then he reads my name tag and it's Cassie. and even that he called me Case-E once. But Mark seems cool either way. Oakes is sad. I'm not just freelance but this is a good thing. title I need. hours that are easier on me. lots of work all due quickly and for so many formats. it's awesome.

Whoever makes the schedules for us keeps putting me down as MelOnie. I dislike it a lot. I fix it on the schedule that we keep up next to the main register, but that doesn't get it fixed on the ones handed out to us. >.< I've been trying to remember names too today I'm going out with Aime and a girl that works upstairs.

The exchange is pretty clean. There have been a couple of spills that I've cleaned, and I've wiped down my counter area when I was bored...but really the place is pretty spotless. O.o

Normally people spell my name right but pronounce it differently. Sometimes I like to go with the Cassaundra sort of pronunciation. But really I just go by Cassie mostly. Its easy. none really pronounces it differently. and even if they spell it differently (cassie, cassy, cassey, cassi) its still all the same. I don't mind misspellings on nicknames. But I will get annoyed if its on my full name.

easier for stores to stay spotless. LJS was a restaurant. and Id swear people would order extra crumblies just to pour them out onto the table and floor. >.< whenever I'd bring LJS home it would never get that messy.. people are just.. so dirty... idk. But I've just found creepy things there. kips make piles of tarter sauce and mixed crumbs into it on the table itself. then splattered cocktail sauce, everywhere. on walls and seats. I've even found fries and crumbs in the bathrooms and someone didn't like the hush puppies so they were floating in the toilet >.< so gross. and when you mix those kinds of guests with lazy workers it gets bad quick.

Yeah, I can totally see that getting gross fast. >.< I dealt with the same things while working at the buffet. Only it would be soy sauce, and random other oriental things. It was pretty gross. I hated vacuuming at the end of the night, because rice does not come up easily out of carpets! D: And hand prints on windows...ugh. In any case, I'm really glad the exchange is nothing like that. It makes working there 100% better. (:

I dislike people misspelling my name. Especially because it's one of the people that hired me. I hope my checks don't come to Melonie. >.<

Ew. rice in carpet would be so much more annoying than crumblies on tile. the thing i hated was that workers would only sweep the isles and not under the table so I'd open in the morning and would have to do it myself since morning shift is just 2 people and the cook needs to do their things.

I wish there was a responsibility level needed before you could hire someone. Because really, it's not that hard to sweep under a table. And if I remember LJS right, it had a table stuck to the floor and booth style seats on both sides, so it's not like you had to move chairs or anything! >.< At least you're done with that job though Cassie. It's behind you and so are the horrible people and the yucky working conditions. Now, you get to work in an air conditioned building at a computer and make beautiful things for people to wear! /proud

I've got a lot of cleaning to do today, but I don't want to do any of it right now. I want to work out, but I just did 20 minutes and I'm exhausted (I took a 3 week break...yeah, that was a bad idea) I've been working on laundry, but the sink thing downstairs that the washing machine drains into got clogged, so I had to unclog that, the sink in the kitchen leaks so I need to call housing, the floors got attacked by random beverages yesterday by the kids so there are sticky spots because their idea of cleaning it up is throwing down a paper towel then picking it up later or smearing whatever it was around the floor so my socks were sticking today. (eeewwwww) Scott had also dripped fishy water onto the floor and didn't clean it up yesterday (because he was going to get to it once he finished x, y and z). The dining room table was attacked by milk this morning when Melody decided I took too long to put on my socks so she poured her own milk. Mostly cleaned it up, but didn't get in the ridges of the table... *sigh* This is why I don't take my kids out to restaurants often, and why I always leave a nice tip. Kids spill, they make a mess, if you're going to expect someone else to clean it up...you really should pay them for that.

My friend's daughter is the cleanest kid in a restaurant that I have ever seen. If she spills something she immediately asks for a napkin so she can clean it up. Avary does the same thing at home. She spilled cheese on the carpet and tried to sweep it up with the broom, only made it worse, but it was the thought that counted.

Mine try, and utterly fail. xD You know the saying don't cry over spilled milk? Well mine spend the first few minutes crying over whatever they spilled and get quite disheartened by the fact that it happened to the point where they don't see a reason in living anymore. it's really quite amusing.

Happy First day of Spring!

To celebrate: It's snowing! and I'm wondering if I can convince Scott to go down to the coffee shop with me and the kiddos later today and take some pictures in the middle of the lake. >.>

Mel, that's kind of funny. At least you know they are emotional and won't be serial killers.

Jaz, them taking responsibility for their mess is a good thing. Means you taught them well.

Should I take that last line to mean that I haven't raised mine well? :/ Because I totally disagree. Just because your child will clean up a mess doesn't make them a good person.

I think cleaning up after your own mess is a good sign or personal responsibility. Part of that being responsible for your own actions and accepting the consequences stuff. Idk though. I don't think I ever felt bad for making a mess unless maybe i dropped or spilled something i wanted. like ice cream. I dropped that once and was sad. But not angry or upset with myself. I just cleaned it up. But of course my cleaning up was not my mom's level of cleaning up. not till later anyway. so that pat would be upsetting because i know my mom would get aggravated that it wasn't done right. Things might still be sticky or something.

I'm not saying that ignoring a mess would make them a good person either, but I don't see cleaning up a mess as being a sign of teaching them well. And cleaning up spills is quite a different story than cleaning up toys etc anyway. I haven't heard a parent yet NOT complain about their child not picking up their toys. So: sure you taught your kid well because they'll clean up a spill...but their rooms a fucking pig stye. Explain that conundrum. For me it all comes down to personality. Aaron will cry like the world is ending because he spilled a glass of juice, but he'll clean up his toys faster than either of the girls and get his clothes put away etc and have a clean room. Kura will try to clean up a spill relatively quickly but she won't touch her room except when she wants to, and Melody will ignore a spill all together and also ignore her messy room. I've raised all my children exactly the same way, they've all been raised by me their entire lives, I can't believe that all three would be so drastically different if it only came down to "teaching them well" . Trust me, they've been taught.

Idk. I don't think that's personality entirely. I agree that it mostly is. Having an affinity for being messy/lazy is what it is. But i took my mom really seriously. as I said before, death glare. and that was all it took to get andrew and me in line again but even then it really hardly ever got to that point. my brother and I knew that we either picked up after ourselves (our spills AND our toys) or we wouldn't have any. If my mom picked them up they'd be gone. And she really stuck with that seriously not just an empty threat. But seriously, in no way did I say its a marker for them being good or bad people or a negative reflection of you. you just seem to have taken that all too far... a clean person can be downright evil. etc. But i still do think clean behavior is a sign of personal responsibility and who knows. that may just be something you either have or don't have and it doesn't mean that a person would skip out on responsibilities with other things either. lets face it clean room is much less important that something like overall being a good person or responsible in work or homework and the like.

I don't think deniece meant any of this negatively towards you either. it was just a compliment towards jaz. At least that's how I read it. because, lets face it, kids are kids and getting them to always be cleanly should be a feat of strength,
