Hey! I didn't think the movie would suck! I thought it would be awesome. And it DID turn out awesome. o.o; I'm like, a huge nerd, though, and I read everything I could about the movie until it came out. XP I didn't have Transformers toys of my own, but I played with my friends'. I hope they aren't making a second one. I read somewhere that the director is working on another movie righ tnow, so at least there won't be a sequel very soon. o.o; It also says that the studio is "discussing" another film. As long as they don't kill Optimus Prime off in this one, I won't be too upset. XP

// Your opinion on the movie.
  • I thought it was pretty good. I would like to go see it again, or possibly wait for it to come out on DVD.
// What you hope[d] to see.
  • As always, I had hoped to see some comparison in the television show to movie process. I hoped to see modes of transportation transform into giant robots and then watch them save the world with the help of a human kid with his friend or two.
// What you [did] not hope to see.
  • Is this a trick question? [j/k] XD;;
// How hardcore of a fan you are and how you don't want to see it because it isn't true enough to the original thing.
  • I am a little upset that they added a new character, but it turned out to be one of my favourite Decepticons! Before I watch movies that are based on some other media (books, television series, etcetera) I like to do a little research on them before I go watch it; and that did not change with Transformers. They changed Hot Shot's name to Bumblebee! A sports car with the name of some insect that messes up my windshield when driving down the dirt roads up in Illinois! I almost died and did not want to see the movie just for that one thing, but my friends really want to see it (we are all girls who were made fun of when we saw Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 opening preview of Transformers and sang the theme song, but we got over it) and I could not say no. It turns out I actually liked it, putting that minor name change aside the whole time, and saw it a second time with my family; and now I want the DVD! XDD;;

Rin: I think I'm going to wait to see it again on DVD as well :']

Did they really change the name? Because I thought that Bumblebee was an original character in the cartoon that was actually a Volkswagen Beetle. Unfortunately, Volkswagen didn't want their "reputation" tarnished with the violence of the movie so they got to use the Camaro instead.

Well... I remember the cartoon had a yellow sports car named Hot Shot. It might have been a Volkswagon. But that's what I remember. It might have been a different season I watched.

Oh, well I don't remember. I think the only reason I know that is because I read an article about why the Beetle wasn't in the movie and that was their excuse. But I was never really a fan whenever I was little.

elanifave: Yeah, well they suck then DX

Meh, I have mixed feelings regarding the whole thing.

First off- it was too Michael Bay. Waaay too Michael Bay. It also felt too much like a shitty teen movie for the first hour or so. Yes, I know it was to appeal to the non-fans, but still. Way too much of that... LeBouf guy and that skanky girl. If there were going to be any human characters, why couldn't they just stick with the awesome army dude who didn't even get a name? I just felt like there were too many pointless plots to the whole affair, making it feel shaky overall.

Which leads to my second complaint- WHY DID THE DECEPTICONS NOT GET ENOUGH SCREEN TIME!? Seriously. Blackout got the orgasmic opening part, Barricade got to harass the.... kid person and fight Bumblebee for a scene, and then there was no other sign of them until the big fight at the end (and no, I am not counting Frenzy scenes. He was kinda pointless). No fair, man! I paid to see BADASS ROBOTS. Not half-assed awkward teen love scenes. They didn't even get enough time in to hint at what a treacherous little shit Starscream was. Sure, he made a rude gesture to Megatron, but that was about it.

But on the topic of the 'bots, I must say I was impressed. In what little time they had, the Decepticons were all sexy. And the Autobots were nothing short of amazing. Prime got his original VA from the G1 series, and it was just... augh. He came together so wonderfully. Despite being a hardcore Decepticon fangirl, I was singing praises to Prime for the rest of the day.

I also really liked Bumblebee In the old shows he was an annoying little twit, but in the movie he was just... awesome. I usually hate it when they do a radical personality change for a character, but Bumblebee was awesome. I also loved Ironhide to pieces. Because he's Ironhide. And the Tooth fairy. :D

So despite my mixed feelings on it, I'm totally psyched for the next movie. Why? One reason- SOUNDWAVE! <3

Seiki: I haven't watched it yet, but yah I don't think I'll like it as much as the new one either. xD;;

Alegretto: XD
I think there was pretty little romance, and that was really good. Like, no unnecessary romance scenes on the battlefield or so. (yeah they had a scene, but it wasn't like other movies so. XD don't make out when people are shooting everywhere stupid people! D<)

Yeah the decepticons didn't really get so much screentime. o_o I thought it kind of ended suddenly.

BUT I WAS AMAZED BY THE EFFECTS AND ACTION AND EVERYTHING SO I LOVE THIS MOVIE TO BITS. 8D

Geisha: Why is that, why are you dissapointed? :0

I went to see it with my girlfriend recently and it was pretty damn good, I thought. I was expecting my childhood to be raped much more than they did. I did have a beef with Optimus Prime having lips, before I saw the movie, but the way they handled it, you didn't really notice much. Plus, the designers had a point, people do want something to look at, when someone's speaking. Prime had enough dialogue to warrant that adaptation.
There are plenty of nitpicks I've got about it, like (spoilspoil -->) wtf was up with Bumblebee's voice, when he got it back? Cheerio, old bean, up for a spot of Decepticon tea? xD Seriously, that voice did not fit him. That, and I was totally expecting the All Spark to zap him and heal his injuries. D: Why the sudden getting back of his voice with no explanation? </3

Maybe Ratchet used his powers of awesome to fix him at one point? I remember him zapping Bumblebee in the neck when they had the totally amazing scene where Prime was introducing the autobots.

...and I liked British Bumblebee. I thought it was cute. If only he had said poppycock. ;0; You must admit, though- it's far better than his old voice. SO.ANNOYING.

I also loved how Prime got his original VA to do him. I remember seeing it with a bunch of nerdy guys, and we had a collective nerdgasm at the "I'm Optimus Prime." line. I know they got another one of the original voice actors on as well, but I still haven't figured out who. Was it Jazz? IT WAS SO HARD TO TELL WITH THE FACT THEY THEY ONLY GOT THREE LINES APIECE. DDDDD< GRRRR. NERDRAGE.

PleasepleasePLEASE have more robots being awesome in the sequel. Mostly Decepticons, though. Primarily Soundwave. With his original voice. Everything is better with Soundwave.

@Alegretto:

True, I was thinking maybe he had, but couldn't work into the timeline in my head when he would've. I didn't remember that zap, so maybe then. >>

xDD Okay, if he had said poppycock, I would've been pleased with it. As it stood, I still found the british persona hard to attach to the slick hot rod. I want there to be a british transformer that transforms into a horse and buggy, though. D8 And yes, you raise a good point, it is a voice improvement of sorts. xD

Ah, I was so absorbed in the movie when I watched it that I failed to appreciate the fact they'd gotten his original VA. o: <3 Though yes, nerdrage here at their lack of lines too. xD The recent vgcats comic sums some parts up well. >> ♥ http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=241

xD Yes, moar Decepticon goodness in the next~ <3 And a few more Predicons couldn't hurt, just since they teased us with the one. >3>

Seiki can't listen to that "What I've Done" song by Linkin Park now without wanting to watch this movie again haha. It was like, the theme song because it was there almost the ENTIRE movie! That was the one thing that annoyed me haha.

But I have it on DVD now thanks to a friend so I can watch it anytime I like xD

I've watched the old movie now. It was pretty good! I weep over the fact that you didn't get to see much of Prime tho. D: omg, Ultra magnus or wtf his name was, is so useless. xD go hot rod and word! and dinobots!
Lol, they played music through the whole movie. XDD;
