Fake Wings

I always believed in the concept that one cannot live without hope, that to live was to hope. Even if we weren't willing to believe we have any left, it would still be there and linger within us until our dying day, offering tranquility if we accepted that not all was lost, that there was still reason to go on. To be without hope was unthinkable and still is. What are we without hope? A lifeless doll.

Every person was born with a pair of wings. Many lose them. Yet there are those who manage to maintain and keep their's. The Winged Ones all have one subconscious goal that they seek during their lifetime. To find the one they will help get their wings back. To open their eyes and show them that their hopes and dreams are not lost, that they too can fly happily. Unfortunately, for many of the Winged Ones, not all goes as planned. Fate and destiny play their roles and try to dictate everyone's life. Stubborn as the Winged Ones are, they do not fall so easily to fate and destiny. If they truly believe one of the Wingless Ones deserve their wings back, they will stop at nothing to help them.

Fate and destiny can be cruel things though, adding a horrible twist if the Winged Ones manage to get a Wingless their wings back. Those wings will be completely real for a while, until they suddenly become fake. Fake wings allow no flight, only a horrid crash landing. The one's who receive this depressing twist of fate may as well be known as the Damned. There are few Winged Ones determined enough to keep trying to help the Damned, and many find it pointless. Perhaps they truly couldn't have their real wings? The Winged Ones who still fight to help the Damned are the real saints, the ones who aren't afraid of failure. If there is a Winged One who is helping a Damned One, the Damned One will still be able to retain hope and won't fall into the pit of inner darkness.

The Damned can receive their wings once more if given the chance. Fate and destiny will have no say so long as those Winged Saints protect and help them. A true connection is created between the Damned One and Winged Saint helping them. A completely eternal love. Love can create a whole new pair of wings altogether and take place of the original pair. Love becomes the new hope and happiness of the Damned One. The Damned One becomes a Loved One.

It's an endless cycle of determination by those with wings. But to give and receive love for helping a Wingless One or Damned One find true hope is worth it to the Winged Ones and Saints.

The Wingless and the Damned become the Loved.
The Winged and Saints find true love.

In the end, all is fair in this cycle of hope.

Just something that came to my head last night and I decided to write. I'm happy with how good it actually came out. xD

This is a very elegant and thought-provoking piece. I loved everything you put into it. It's a very good thing you put this into writing. I would hate to have a piece like this to fade away. :D

Thanks! ^^ I'm quite glad I wrote it too, otherwise I'm sure the thoughts would've gone as soon as they had come. I'm just surprised I was able to finish it without loosing interest in it (though it isn't that long :3).
