So has anybody ever tried to use their mouse with the opposite hand? I don't just mean switching hands and trying to left click all awkward like... I mean switching the settings for your mouse so that you can use it for your left/right hand.
Well, I'm trying it for the first time today because my right hand's been bothering me lately, and it feels strange, but not too strange... I'm lefthanded, so maybe I should have done this earlier, haha.
Discussion:
-Have you ever used your other hand for the mouse? How'd it go?
-Are you going to try it now, out of curiosity?
-Any funny stories from whenever you tried to switch hands for the mouse?
-Why cats go after clicky mice more often than they do actual mice (at least mine does)

Yes I have but it's akward.
As for the cats it's because of movement.
My cat used to bat the keyboard and slap the screen.

I tried playing Descender with my opposite hand on the mouse, and I did surprisingly well, considering how awkward it felt; I got up to 45 before I lost. xD I usually get up around 60 or so with my right hand, so that's not too bad, especially considering it was my first attempt.

Never.
It's always been for my right. My left hand is mainly the keyboard operator slash tablet artist anyway.
I know that it's good for the brain to try to be ambidextrous and all, but if all it gives me is total confusion, then I'd rather not go through with it.

I've tried it before.
Oh man, it's too awkward, and I'm lefthanded! So, I just leave it right handed, cuz' it gives my right hand something to do besides typing lol xD

Well, I've never switched it, but I've used the right-hand setting with my left hand, and it's pretty weird. xD My cats don't go in my room very often, so they don't usually get a chance, but they love chasing cords, so like, it doesn't go well when they start attacking your mouse cord while you are using it. xD

I've switched hands and used it before, but I never bothered changing the settings. I don't think it's really awkward though.

I've tried it, and it was the most uncomfortable weird feeling i've ever had. It was worse than trying to write with the opposite hand. Never again. Although it isn't so bad if you're on a lap top and using the touch pad.

I've tried doing that when I wanna draw in paint. That's because I'm left handed, and I can't draw for shit with my right hand. It's too hard to get used to, so I gave up. I need to get a tablet. xD

Can't say that I've tried the mouse settings, but I have tried typing with my feet like Edward in Cowboy Bebop. Now that was fun. xDD

Yep, I did try it before, switching the orientation of the mouse buttons and the cursor direction on my computer, but ironically, even being left-hander by birth, I didn't feel comfortable with using my computer mouse with the left hand. I feel perfectly at home using it right handed style.
The odd implication is that when I can only do digital drawings with a mouse using the right hand and can only do so using the left if I were to plug in my tablet. I guess I'm strange like that. Sometimes I do get very confused over my handed-ness and hold my fork and knife in the wrong hands. Ambidexterity sure is messing my brain's wiring up!

I should be using my other hand for the mouse since my right hand's messed up right now. I might try it just to see. My cats go after the computer mouse more than real mice becuase I don't have much of a problem with mice in my house. They do however, drop bugs at my feet all the time.

I'm left-handed but I've never tried it. But usually I'd be using the keyboard commands or the touch pad.

talk about challenging. it might be difficult for me at first as far as getting used to the feeling of it. but i'm ambidextrious. so switching hands for any activity is usually easy for me. i just have to learn how to do it.

That's such an interested idea O_O. I didn't even know you COULD change the settings for the mouse like that...but it makes sense ^^;. I ought to try it out someday just for the fun of it~.
I HAVE tried writing / drawing with my left hand before....and it didn't work out that well at all ^^;. But from the replies here, it seems like using a mouse with the opposite hand is a bit easier than that O_O.
