I made some free art for Miss Trinity on here, and I really wanted to make it look great. I'm having a problem coloring in the eyes though. They look REALLY bad. Heh. I was wondering is someone could give me a rundown on how they color eyes in photoshop? Or maybe some ideas on how fix what I did.

My photoshop skills were self taught, so I'm sorry if it's not up to the average standards. >.<'''

Feel free to comment, nit pick at the picture as well. I'm really open to suggestions and advice. (I do realize the proportions are a little off.)

Before I missed up.

And after.

Thanks so much!

Thank you so much, Miss Laurr! I used to links you gave me and eyes came out 100% better. It's not great, but much much better than what I had.

Its lovely. Very well coloured, though try and make the lips a tiny bit bigger; they look puckered up and more of a doll face style then manga ish style.

I think part of the problem isn't the coloring, but also the lineart itself. When drawing eyes, make sure you can fit a third eye between the two. Anything greater or smaller than that is too much. Here, I've noticed that your eyes are a bit too far apart.

Wow, the coloring is really pretty. Maybe add some..light reflecting on the eyes? Like a speck of white or something? I'm not really sure about Photoshop and all...sorry! But good luck getting some suggestions. ^^ (I love the coloring on the hair!! <33)

As I can't really critique on the lineart since you're that far into the picture....I will constructively offer suggestions on colouring. =D

I admire your orbs on the staff, and the feathery parts that are in the art. However...These objects (and a few others, like the shirt) have no solid lineart, while the other parts do. That makes it look kinda awkward, but that's just my opinion. So, you could make the rest of the picture lineless, or add a few lines onto those parts.

Also...if some parts are white, most artists like to shade with colours other than grey. Since you have a blue theme going on, you can try shading with blue instead. Unless the sleeves and scarf are supposed to be silvery or greyish. Then you can leave as is. dx
