=(

Sadly, I'm an idiot when it comes to technical stuff. My brother had to set my laptop up for me. I wish I could help, but any advice I give would only succeed in blowing your laptop up.

Good luck in your little endeavor.

  • Check out your:

    Control Panel >> Network Connections.

All the settings you need are in the Network Connections.

Not really. If you have a router thing, it should be on the taskbar. Just reconnect via that with your password. Much quicker. Saves much more time. Requires less computer knowledge. I mean okay, that works too. But still... and since Mikey brought it up. If you are using a router, I suggest you get an interal wireless card. PCI for standard PC, not sure what to use for laptop (internal wireless card?). because when you get d/c'ed, it auto reconnects you whereas if you have a USB, you have to manually reconnect it.

Try unplugging your modem and plugging it back in that should reset the connection. Also you might have to use a USB port. Do you have the driver disc with your modem?

run inetwiz and select "connect using my local area network" or go to the control panel>internet options>connections>never dial a connection
