foggy- omg hes too cute!

my twins turned 1 today! omg! lol. i dont know where the time went. im so excited though. <3 i cant believe it, but im totally excited. I got them a bunch of ride on toys and cars because they love pushing things around, and best of all...bouncy balls. lol. they can chase those things for hours. im happy. <3 cant wait til the hubby gets home so i can have them play with their new toys (decided against wrapping them it would take too long to do and they would get confused. lol. My toddler is already incredibly jealous of them today. because i was singing to them when they woke up. shes pouting going i want birthday to you~! silly toddlers. so later today ill probably be updating pictures. or tomorrow it depends on how they are all acting and if i can get to the store to buy some compressed air. (the memory card reader in my computer got all dusty on te drive and so i have to clean it out before i can put any pictures from the camera on. POO. lol. anyway im going to get to baking the cake ill be on again during nap time <333
Happy Birthday to the twins! I can't wait to see the pictures. I really should post some of Justin, too. First birthdays are always so much fun. Are you going to let them dig into the cake on their own? It's hilarious to watch - just make sure you either don't have shirts on them or have them wear something you don't mind getting stained.

*cough* my toddler got up early from nap time and i didnt notice, she already tore into the cake... so the top layer is about half gone.
but yeah since its already been kinda destroyed i figured i would just do up the bottom layer sing to them then let them go at it. in nothing but diapers. itll be more fun that way. though, theyve already ruined their new outfits. XD lunch time got a bit messy... >.>

I'm not married an I don't have children, but my mother says it is the best thing in the world.

She had lots of miscariages and was told that she would never have a baby.

Now she has three <3

@ Meldoy - LOL. One of the good things my son taught me was that I can't control everything. I'm still a control phreak but if things don't work out the way I wanted them too I've learned to go with the flow.

@ Sanc - that is a cool story about your mom.

gemini- yeah ive learned that too. course just getting pregnant taught me that much XD i didnt want to have kids, and them bam i was pregnant. lol. and my life has been pretty much out of my control since then. im at the whims of my children. they decide on what day is a good day and what day is a bad day. luckily, they like me a lot and so i have more good than bad days. <3

sanctuary- <3 im glad she had kids at least. it would have been heart breaking otherwise. I have a friend thats like that right now. everytime she gets pregnant less than 3 months goes by and she looses it. shes starting to lose hope </3

Sanctuary that's a great story. My sister had my niece and then has had 3 miscarriages since. We aren't sure if she ever will have another. Me, I've had alot of female problems and don't think I will ever be able to have a child. With all the problems and now my age being a factor, I don't know if I can do it. I have 2 nieces and a nephew to spoil and 2 kids of the 4 legged variety so I'm ok with that.

I am not sure I could do that. Not that it's not a great thing to do but I would be afraid of becoming attached as I would be carrying it.

im not too worried about it. Since I know from the beginning that it isnt mine, and that it will make someone else overjoyed with happiness I think i will be ok. ^_^ Ive seen the hurt on my friends and family when they havent been able to carry the child full term and end up losing it and so sparing someone that hurt is well worth it. I enjoyed being pregnant for the most part, and so I think it will be a fun experience. It also kinda extends your family adn friends base which is another good thing <3 (:

that's really cool of you Melody. My hubby and I are having trouble having a 2nd kid. We decided to try a few things the doctor says and give it a couple more years. If no baby then we are going to adopt. We don't want to spend our money on large fertility fees when we can adopt a kid that needs us. We are a bit biased though because 3 of his sibs are adopted.

personally i think adoption is great. <3 an aunt of mine tried to adopt a couple of little girls, she always wanted a daughter but couldnt concieve one (she had enough trouble getting pregnant with her boys. it was months of fertility therapy) the girls they got were wonderful little kids. I love them like i love the rest of my cousins <3
before i ever got pregnant i told myself that if i wanted kids i would adopt. :P then i got pregnant and that kinda went out the window. </3

I considered surrogacy when I was younger but I knew I would get too attached. I foster a lot of cats and dogs and I get way attached to them even though I know I'm not keeping them. I knew I'd only be worse with a baby. Then I found out I woudln't be a canidate anyway so it just wasn't meant to be.

I think being a surrogate is awesome becuase many people really want to have a biological kid and just can't. I already have a son so that doesn't bother me anymore. If you go through with the surrogacy you are going to make some future parents extremely happy and grateful. Couldn't give a better gift.

^_^ thats what im thinking. <3
Besides, I like making people happy XD My brother in law was adopted and I think hes closer to his mom than my husband (her biological child) is so i dont think that it makes a difference whether or not the child is actually related to you. but i know alot of people want that biological connection. and so id like to give someone the ability to have that even if it isnt biologically possible for them (say in the case of a gay couple) or a couple where the woman has had ovarian cancer or something. ^^;;

you are also the kind of person people would want to stay in contact with ans since you already have kids you can be a big help for them later on with advice. If nothing else someone to vent with. You would make a great "auntie".

Sorry for ditching you so suddenly like that earlier. Justin wanted to help clean the fish tanks and that can be kind of dangerous. We bought a pirateship ornament to put in it last night so we put that in there and messed around with it a little. He loves his fish and he playing with the tanks. He knows that I work with fish at work and wants to do the same things I do. He knows a lot about how to take care of them...he just gets overzealous if I'm not hovering over him.

no problem at all. we all have outside lives its understandable to be distracted once in a while. ^^
thats cool that he understands fish though. I wish my daughter would. im still really scared of getting her fish to have as pets because I know she can be a pretty brutal kid to pets... *sigh* i may have to wait a couple more years before trusting her with some pets. even with my help i cant be there 24/7 to make sure she doesnt hurt them.

That's a good idea. Most of my jobs have had to do with animals so Justin has a dog, cat, and a bunch of fish. We have horses too and he helps with them. He can't carry the hay, yet, but he knows where all the water spigots are and we can have him give the horses their water. We just have to make sure he remembered to turn them off, too.
