oh dear, roocee, at 9. There must be something going on at school specially if it just started recently. (I'm going to assume that she just went into the new school year earlier this month) Perhaps her mom could talk to one of the teachers to find out if someone is picking on her or something? Or have her mom take a day off work and sit in on the class to see for herself whats going on? I dunno, it's odd if tantrums start up after being gone for a while, especially because she is old enough to know better than to throw them.

*blushes* I am a horrible stalker... I'll stalk a thread or guild or anything until I find something to talk about... As for the pregnancy I am miserable... I have never been so sick... They gave me prenatal's that are suppose to help with the sickness... But they aren't really... They seemed to help at the beginning... but now they just seem to make it even harder to eat... I put my self on a non solid regiment until I go back to the Doctor on the 4th of October... All I have been eating/ standing to eat is soup and fruits... Other then that my stomach gets to irritated and if I don't eat it gets even worse... I know they will yell at me for not eating meat and stuff but I tried and it makes me miserable... With my first son I was totally without morning sickness... The only problem I had with him was a severely pinched nerve in my back that didn't straighten out for 5 months after he was born... So this is all new to me...
Hello Fawn... I hope Amber is doing well... I actually got to thinking about you the other day... I wonder if your doctors were off on her due date all together...

pinched a nerve in your back? wow, that must have hurt </3
I think the B vitamin family is supposed to help with morning sickness. Its either b12 or b6 that helps the most but I cant remember, I believe broccoli has it though, you may want to try having some of that.
I suggest staying far away from tuna though, and orange juice because it is the most disgusting stuff ever to throw back up @[email protected] personal experience has taught me that much. It should get better in a couple of months though! My really bad morning sickness was for the first 3/4 months then I only had it occasionally after. I hope it gets better for you! really, morning sickness is the pits.

Yeah... I am taking a prenatal supplement to help with the sickness but it really isn't helping at all anymore... I feel like I do nothing but complain... and my boyfriend acts like that is all I do... Anyhow my son is up early from his nap... I am going to go lay him back down! Be back in a little while!

Rue, I'm so sorry to hear about Toni! I wonder what is up? I hope someone can find out the cause soon. I was thinking maybe it's an early teenage thing, but maybe not. *sends hugs to Jess too, I haven't seen her post anywhere in a while!*
Jaz, vitamin B6 only made me sicker because it was acidic and made my tummy burn. I totally agree though that it's so hard to solve morning sickness because you have to eat, or you feel worse, but what do you eat because the thought of food is repulsing and sometimes you can't keep anything down!
I've been having this same convo through email with my best friend's sis-in-law who just found out she's pregnant too. A few things you can try are the BRATT diet, which stands for Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast, and Tea. Bananas sound weird, but they actually have an anti-nauseant in them.
When I came out of the hospital from dehydration from throwing up too much, the only thing I could keep down was sips of chicken broth. In the hospital they also gave me jello, sherbet ice cream, and sprite, but those were too much for me at home.
And also, they prescribed me with Zofran, which is an anti-nausea pill that dissolves on your tongue, but it's hard to get insurance to pay for it because it's like $36 a pill!
I do agree I think the doctor's office had Amber's due date wrong because the ultrasound showed her small, but of course she was small! Too small for her gestational age her whole life so far! According to my period the due date I had in mind was about 10 days earlier than the doctors thought, but she was still a month early according to my calculations! And she was born the size as if she were 3 months early!
EDIT reply, just saw this on the prev page!

The thing I hated most about the NICU was that you had to wash your hands from fingertip to elbow for 2 minutes every time you went in there. My arms were having a reaction to the soap from using it so much after the first 4 days. I was going crazy from it. Also a lot of the parents didn't do it. It annoyed me because they were putting not only theirs but everyone else's baby at risk! jerks.
|
I gained exactly 30 pounds over what each of my babies weighed, so with my first I gained 36, and with my second, 32. I can see myself being almost 200 with twins and a lot of water weight and bloating too, as I was 163 before birth with Jade, and that's a single baby!
My arms and hubby's were irritated from the harsh surgical soaps too, so hubby started putting on lotion every time after washing up to the elbows for 3 mins, and I started using the lotion soap that was nearby instead. I did notice too that a lot of the parents didn't wash for nearly even 30 seconds, but at least I never saw anyone NOT wash their hands!
I really liked that Calstat hand sanitizer too that they had all over the NICU because it softens your skin and smells like baby powder!

XD I just saw it i thought I had only read half your post before. lol.
yeah some parents really annoyed me with the amount of uncare they had for other peoples children, and their own. they are in te INTENSIVE care unit for a reason, you can't be so uncaring. Perhaps when you are at home you can put your children around your random air born diseases, but don't put every one else's child at risk ya know?
I started keeping lotion next to my daughters bassinet and would put it on when I got to her. It helped with the irritation.
I had only gained 24 pounds with my first pregnancy so I was about 166, with te twins I gained 60 pounds+. I felt like a hippo. </3
though, for the baby shower we made a purple hippo cake it was totally awesome XD and did a noah's ark theme so it was a lot of fun too. I hated not being able to see my feet though. I missed them XD

LOL! Purple Hippo Cake!!! :D
I didn't care about not seeing my feet, but I couldn't reach them to paint my toenails, so fortunately Jason did that for me a couple times!! lol
And I think we had the utmost concern in the NICU because Amber started off in the isolation room where you have to put on gloves and a long-sleeve gown too before you can even go in!
Eee, she woke up! Gotta go!

My fiance and I are in the process of trying for our first, but some stuff came up that at least a few of you know.
I did raise my nephew firsthand, so I know how bad some babies can be. I think I'm prepared for a lot. Not the worst, but a lot. He was one of those tantrum children.
He came out of the womb a whomping 9lbs 10oz, and a startling 24inches long. My poor sister. It was a vaginal birth, too.
He was jumping up and down at one and a half weeks, and ended up walking at 10 months. He was able to at 8 or so, but he took a tumble and refused to try again for a while. (My sister walked at 7 months... the day she turned 7 months. O_o Me? I waited. xD A long time. 14 months? I guess I was lazy.)
My nephew is now almost six years old, and the time goes by too quickly. I don't miss his infancy. He came out ready to tackle the world, only to realize he was immobile and couldn't speak. He made everyone know he was truly disgruntled by this fact. e___e
He's a pretty good boy now. A bit spoiled by my mother, a bit ignored by his mother, but hey... he's good for me so I can't complain.

Michael was on the Bratt diet when he was 7 month he got a bad sickness and they said that those would constipate him... He had diarrhea BAD... I would figure that constipation would make nausea worse... Not to mention I was told that I can't have herbal tea... Cause I was trying to substitute it for my morning coffee... And they told me no... that it hasn't been studied and that essentially it is a drug... I don't know I am soo lost...

lol thats cute. <3 he came out ready to tackle the world only to find he couldnt walk or talk. sounds like my daughter.
my twins are lazy though. they arent even trying to walk really aaron will take a couple of steps, melody is like what? get over here and pick me up!
I hope the gallbladder problems get fixed soon so you can get back to working on your first baby. <3 Some arent as bad as others, since you've already had mommy experience I think you should be ok for a while. I know I made a lot of mistakes with my first that I knew better than to make with the twins. XD
[edit] jaz- hurrmmm... I'll look into it a bit more for you, I had a lot of tea while I was pregnant (ones with out caffeine) and my doctor never said anything. But a cup of coffee a day hasn't been shown to have adverse effects on the baby, so you could continue with that if you wanted ^_^

Well, apparently my sister found out today that there has been a boy that has been giving her a pretty hard time. Yes, she's in a new school as she no longer needs the special class program for learning that she was in. I think my sister is going to talk to her teacher to see what's up. I guess he's been saying some rather horrible things to her which would explain where she's getting them. I hope something can be done. She certainly doesn't need this.

Boys can be so mean sometimes. </3 I hope it all gets straightened out for her. Perhaps she can be switched to a different class. Or the boy will get some type of punishment. He shouldn't be allowed to do this to her and she shouldn't have to deal with it.
I'm glad you two liked the video XD A friend of mine (also with twins XD) had posted it as a bulliten on myspace and it cracked me up so much I had to share it. I think I say about half those things daily. Minus the school/homework ones since my little ones aren't there yet ^^;;

Good morning! Mine's sick today. Woke me up by moaning in her sleep last night and when I checked, she had a 100 fever. So I gave her some medicine and am just waiting for her to wake up again for the day now. :) I'm sure she'll be fine. Just a little cold. Me, though, I am so sleepy now because of getting up in the middle of the night!
How are you?

Feeling about the same as you </3 Melody woke up with gas about 4 times last night so I would go in and rub her belly, then pat her back and try to make her feel better, gave her some Mylicon (sp?) drops to help with it the first time. My husband had to go to work early today so I didn't want him being bothered by her crying so I would go in there each time to care for her. and now... I just want it to be noon so I can nap for a bit. But the twins have their 1 year check up today at 1:30 so I don't know how much rest I'll be able to get before we have to go! lol Todays appointment means shots too. </3 ugh.

Ugh shots! I know it's necessary, but I always hated those days. I had a horrible pediatrician once who did shots first and then would do the visit. Well, they came in, gave her 4 shots, and then didn't come back until over an hour later. So I was stuck in the little room and she sobbed hysterically for that long. I couldn't soothe her! Over an hour!!
Luckily, the pediatrician we switched to (I had other reasons for making the switch too) was appalled when I told her about that. They always did their shots at the very end! I'll have to take Lauren in in a few weeks for her two year. She'll be getting at least a flu shot then, I'm not sure about anything else.

I think when I did Kuras 2 year appointment she got 3 shots, the flu and then boosters for some she had gotten before. But I cant remember. I need to go in and get boosters for me, I havent gotten any shots in years @[email protected]
All of my pediatricians do the shots at the very end. I always end up waiting a long time before the dr gets there, but since I do have 2 kids this time they should do it faster, they prefer having the 'big rooms' open for older children so they take care of me and the twins rather quickly ^^
So far all of my kids have been really good with shots. They cry when the needle goes in and as long as it is in then for about the same length of time afterwords then calm down. Really I think I have more of a problem with them getting shots than they do. </3 It breaks my heart to see them bleed!

OK parents, I have a parenting question...my little one is turning 2 in a week and a few days and I'd say, in the last few weeks, she has become a little banshee when it's time to leave something fun (the park, storytime at the library, etc). She throws LOUD tantrums when it's time to go and I'm not sure how to deal with them! I'm trying the distracting thing, but it didn't seem to work tonight. She was too upset.
She's such a sweetheart/non-problem child otherwise!
Anyone had a toddler be this way and what'd you do to fix it? ;)

Sakura was like that, you kinda just have to let her grow out of it. Make sure she knows that there are fun things that will happen at home. say you have to leave the park, remind her of all the fun balls there are to play with at home (or any toy she loves to play with) If she has a doll that she is really attached to, tell her the doll is tired and wants to go home and rest (this is the only way i could get a girl i babysat to take a nap 'oh kenzie I know you want to stay up but mimi is tired and needs a nap and is scared to nap with out you!' she would hold that doll for a long time just being quiet then fall asleep ^^;;
At least her terrible twos started just before she turned two. sakura was on them at about 18 months!
btw, I LOVE your outfit! the mask looks awesome! I want an item glitch! lol
