See my problems were my periods just wouldn't stop. Mine would like somewhere in the area of 30 days or more stop for about 20 days and then continue for another 30. I was so weak from the loss of blood that I was put on the pill at 17, also a virgin at the time.
I was on the pill for almost 20 years up until he took me off because my blood pressure started to get high and that's a major concern with being on the pill. So since the IUD couldn't be inserted, I have actually been rather regular for the last year and a half. I've never been this regular in my life. So the pill has helped in that regard. Otherwise, I would have had a hystorectomy (sp) at 17 years old.
Now, since I've been off the pill a year and a half, my moods are better and I feel better. Also, my boyfriend had a vasectomy and we both know we have nothing to transfer to each other so no need for birth control of any kind which is nice.

When I was fourteen, I bled heavily for six months straight, and then my period was gone completely for an equal amount of time. I've always been a heavy bleeder though... it's awful. The IUD took care of that, but now that it's out I'm heavy again. It's worth noting it's not as bad as it was when I was younger though!
I worry that I'll have to have all my internal plumbing hacked out after the baby's born. I have cysts right now, so who knows. When I had the Mirena offered to me it was a case of, "If you don't get this under control, you'll never have children, and it'll have to come out."
At least someone else shares my vaginal woes!
I know my fiance is willing to get a vasectomy after the baby's born and deemed healthy, which will be nice. I tried the birth control pills for years, but nothing ever worked. I really don't want to deal with Mirena again, and he understands. Yay. ;_;
Knowing my luck when I'm finally pregnant there'll be 7 babies or something scary like that. Or he'll get a vasectomy and the one shot we thought was fine would turn out potent. Luck hits me like that quite often. o.o

I am so glad I never had those problems... I am as regular as they come... every 28 days unless I am pregnant... Then well I just don't have one... I am a heavy bleeder though... Which is what makes me believe I am more then just 2 months pregnant... Cause my period was so weird for two months before I found out I was pregnant!

^^;; I never really had problems, I never bled much and it was only about 4 days long on the first week of the month. pretty regular. minus when I was pregnant, then I would have a 2 day period and then no more until after the baby was born.
I feel for you gals though <3 My best friend has been on the pill since about 13 because of heavy periods and cramps that pretty much would stop her in her tracks.
I think I may just have my husband get a vasectomy. I would prefer it honestly, but the CG says they won't pay for it until he is 25? I think. It may have been 26. But they want to make sure that everything is ok with our kids and that we don't want to have any more. I think 3 is more than enough and they should let him have it anyway, but they are being stubborn with the money as usual so there is no use fighting with them. I guess we'll just have to stick to condoms for now. :P (I don't do well with the pill, it makes me so emotionally unstable and knocks off my hormones really bad, THAT is when I bleed for 3 weeks then have a week off, they do the complete opposite to me than what they are supposed to) which is why I was wondering about the IUD, but after hearing what you have to say I'm not sure I want that. it's so much easier to just get him fixed lol.

If you had such hearty problems with the pill (I did, too... sounds about similar to you), perhaps it's best you stay away from the medical contraceptives. I'm not big in believing much man-made medicine anyway.
Condoms can be a pain in the butt, but it's better than (too many) babies I suppose. ^^b

lol, I already have too many. :P naw, I love those monsters even though they drive me batty on an hourly basis.
I've started to think that my hormones are just off anyway, seeing as I ovulate on both sides every other month I think it makes some of my levels higher than on other people. And so the pill which is made for the average woman just doesn't work for me. But yeah, I think i'm with you on just staying away rom those man made contraceptives, The main problem I had with the IUD was that the doctor couldn't tell me how it worked. :/ said they weren't sure but that it did work.
I think I'll just stick with condoms for now too ^^

I got that, too. The truth is, they don't know. It's a little plastic T stuck inside the uterus, and the strings hang down from the cervix/in the vagina.
My guess, which is upsetting, and I'll explain why, is that the T keeps fertilized eggs from implanting in the uterine walls... like a big clunky blocker.
I had two periods in the past year where my back hurt like a mofo, and I spotted mid-month, about what should have been considered an implantation bleeding. I'm not so sure I wasn't pregnant in April, due to the severe pain of everything.
Again though, this is just my hunch... it's not anything that can be proven certain.
I also feel the T is a blocker because ectopic(sp) pregnancy happens more often than regular fertilization, if I remember correctly.
Then again some women simply got pregnant with the IUD, and either had it removed during pregnancy, or couldn't and had to see what happened. Some babies are born with T imprints in their foreheads. Nothing permanent of course, but still.

I thought they had copper in them or something and it just inflamed the walls? I dunno I went though the booklet and it really didn't sound like they knew what was going on. But I too heard that etopic pregnancy was more common with an IUD which, is incredibly dangerous and painful. @[email protected] I couldn't imagine.
The human body is so complex. But I think a lot of that just has to do with the stuff we do to it.

I agree. I don't mean to sound old-fashioned, but I feel if people stepped away from modern medicine, things would be a lot better off. Nowadays you turn the TV on and the medicine that was supposed to save the world six months ago is now recalled due to people dying.
Not to mention these medicines that are supposed to fix everything have six or more completely undesirable side-effects. Why would anyone want to remove joint pain only to gain vomiting and diarrhea? Bleh.
Oh, the Mirena isn't copper. It's the other one. :3 Mirena's all plastic (save for the string, and I know not what that is), which makes it even odder to understand.

I'm quite sure I would have been in the same boat as you, had I not had it put in while I was out from other surgery.
I will say though, I've had uterine biopsies... two I think, maybe three? Either way, I made it through that pain, and it's not a piece of cake. Has anyone else here had one? How did it go?

I can't say I have ever had one. But they sound quite painful. I would want to be put out for it honestly. @[email protected]
Perhaps anything inside of the uterus will cause swelling? since really, nothing is supossed to be there. I dunno.

I suppose that makes sense, too. They do say to wait a month before trying to conceive after having it removed, due to the inflammation. They say otherwise you could have a tubal pregnancy.
As for the biopsies, they are a bit intrusive. The one I had resulted in something metal going up through the cervix into the uterus, and then a piece being pulled out. It felt like one hot and huge painful cramp, lol.
So what's everyone's plans for today? I just woke up, seeing as I was up 'till 2am doing homework. Six and a half hours of sleep and I don't get along too well, but here goes. xD

Yep Chi, that's what my roommate said it felt like as well. Very short procedure and I would imagine it be more costly to be put out for such a short period of time.
6 1/2 hours is about what I get every night. I wake up often during the night so that's pretty normal for me. I'm sure you will do just fine and will get everything done you need to. Hugs.

I wish all of my bills would come to my house. :/ Even though I changed all of the address some are still going to my mom's house and it is driving me crazy. UGH.
Anyway, I think I got about as much sleep as everyone else in the thread so far. Only, I'm quite awake at te moment since Ive been up for a good 3 adn a half hours now. 8)
I'm expecting my new t.v. to arrive soon and I can't wait! My husband and I decided it was time to have a bit of luxury in our lives after having next to nothing in the house for 2 months so we went out and bought a really nice t.v. <3

We took the luxury in furnishing the apartment. We didn't have the money for it, but I put it on my big credit card. My fiance says all the wedding gifts we get go straight to me, and he'll use his tax return to pay his half of all we bought off.
So all in all, I'm not that worried. If we're going to be here for the next decade, it really needs to be furnished as a home.
I'm glad all your furniture is coming soon. <333
Speaking of bills and addresses, we need to sign up for our own P.O. box sometime soon.

your house doesn't have a mailbox?
Scott wants to wait to buy new furniture until after we see how everything fits in the house. Our room and the twins room will be pretty much complete when the furnture gets here, so its just sakuras and the living room that we need to work with. Shouldn't be too bad. We've been buying things slowly over the years.
At least you have it figured out as to how you will pay it off. lol. I'm still really happy for you to be getting married! XD

Nope! We're in an apartment building, and mail isn't delivered here. Packages can be, but not postal mail. I don't know if it's because my living area is so small or what. We're a town of 1000-1300.
Thank you. ^^ Truth be told, I can't wait for it to be done and over with. The fuss leading up to the wedding, I mean. I just wanna be married already and finally call him my husband. XDDD

husband is so much easier to say than fiance XD and wow, I always wanted to live in a small town like that, until I moved to a smallish town and there really isn't anything to do close to me. I like being able to go into the city with out having to drive for a while to get there. </3 the east coast is still so foreign to me!
Don't some places not deliver items to p.o. boxes? or is that why packages go to your place? I've never really delt with it so I'm a wee bit clueless on the subject.

That's pretty much it, yep. Carriers like UPS and DHL deliver packages directly to my door, but Priority Mail and other USPS carrier methods go to the P.O. box. ^^
Where on the East Coast did you relocate to? I'm in Maine, and about two hours away from anything big and exciting to do, though Ellsworth (an hour) provides anything we really need. Sushi, Wal*Mart, a tiny movie theatre, a health food store, a good grocery store... and of course other things.
