The kids all have like an hour nap at school. Kura wanted a nap today when she got home though...I felt bad telling her no, since I really wanted a nap too, there just wasn't enough time between getting them and getting Scott. boo. I totally want a nap...still.

REALLY even Kura has a nap? Mikes is sooo outgrowing naps... But I need the quiet to recoup from the insanity of the morning...

You have a energy sucker on you! You couldn't have had a short nap like 15-45 minutes?

I could have one now...but it's so close to bedtime I wouldn't sleep tonight if I did. It's total fail.

They have quiet time in her kindergarten class, where they lie down for like 3o minutes. Somedays she naps, other days she doesn't but she knows from being home that quiet time is quiet time. Not that it always works at home...but eh. She listens to her teachers more than me. xD

I wound up not taking Michael to football practice today cause of the rain and the cold... Mikes has a nasty cough... And he doesn't need to get REALLY sick from playing in to cold and wet :/ I am starting to get sick now too :( suck

We have some kids at the day care who won't nap, and they're really little. They've outgrown naps at such a young age. >.> But most of the kids are good about naps. :)

Sakura has been at an on/off nap schedule since she was 3. The twins have been the same way. I think some days they don't really need a nap...but I need them to have one. It's sooooo hard to go 100% all day with out at least a minor break!

Aaron and Melody both have a cough now. As do I...though I also have a horrible stuffy/runny nose thing. So I guess essentially I've caught a cold. I hate it. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow hopefully they'll be able to give or tell me something I can take to make me at least be able to sleep better at night.
This is the only thing I hate about the kids being in school. They get sick so quickly, and spread it to me even quicker. Need to find a way to boost their immune systems!

Everyone around here is sick. >.> Clair has been off and on sick for the past few weeks. It's actually a bit concerning, so she's going to be seeing a doctor soon.//

Have them take Airborne. It's a herbal medicine thing that a teacher designed to take every morning because she didn't like her students getting her sick. It boosts your immune system. Clair takes it before going on planes because the air on planes can be really bad for you ('cause it's recycled and you don't know WHAT germs are floating around from different people). :) It works really well and it comes in different flavors. You put the tablet in water, and it dissolves into like... a fizzy lemon-lime drink. It's not that tastey, but it's not the worst thing ever.

I hate things that dissolve into water. </3 It should come in a pill form that I can just swallow. >.<

Though, I've also been wishing that instead of being chalky Tums came in a chewy form. lol. I'm picky about what I take/eat.

Do they have airbourne for children? I'll look when I'm at the store later today. Gotta pick some night time stuff up for their coughs since it's keeping them awake. Which means it's also keeping me awake.

Hm, I'm not sure. I think it'll be okay for a child to take Airborne, but I'm not sure.

Clair doesn't like things that dissolve in water, either, but if it keeps her from getting sick, she'll take it. xD

Clair is smart and I should listen to her. xD I think I would rather deal with weird fizzy water in a drink or two than being sick for a week. I'll check it out when I'm at the store later. And ask my doctor about taking it tomorrow when I'm at my appointment. I'm thinking that if it's herbal it should be okay, but better safe than sorry. And I know the parents would throw a fit if I took something with out first asking her advice/permission. >.<

I swear they say they want whats best for me and baby...but they seem to overlook some pretty important things. Like I've offered to pump for them...and they said they'd ask their pediatrician about it. I don't think they have, I think they're just being polite about saying no. Which I think is stupid. I'll be pumping anyway, becasue it IS what is best for me. The motions cause the uterus to contract back to the correct size, and it helps get fat out of my body that has been storing up FOR baby! Not to mention the antibodies that are in it which make it good for baby as well...I just don't get it. Eh, there are breast milk banks that will be happy for more! >.<

Yeah, they should take that. :( It would be really good for the baby!

^^ Yeah, I agree with checking with the doctor, first. I'm not a doctor, so I don't know if there are any harmful effects if you're pregnant or in small children. I would think it would be okay for children to have, but you should ask, just be sure. ^^

I thought they were alright with taking the pumped milk! It is sooo much better for a baby :/ and now there are recalls on infant formula... You don't have that with breastmilk!

Unless of course the mother has been drinking. >.> Then a baby shouldn't have the breast milk. But, yeah, Melody hasn't been drinking, that I'm sure of.

Well breastmilk self cycles every 2 hours... Plus Melody doesn't like drinking so they should be a-ok.... And that isn't a recall that is the mother not using her head... or not caring... There shouldn't be recalls on baby stuff >.> it should have strict guidelines they should have to follow...

Plus formula actually has toxins in it...

Yeah, breast milk is something that is definitely important for a baby. But, also real foods/liquids should be part of the baby's diet by the time they're 6 months. By that time, they need more than just the mother's milk.

lol, Kura was still gaining weight with just breastmilk until 9 months...when I found out she could have other stuff. The twins started with real food at 6 months...and stopped wanting breastmilk all together. Which is okay, by 6 months old they're able to make their own antibodies etc and their immune system, while not fully developed, is able to take on infections/bacteria with little fuss.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they don't want the breastmilk. You'd think if you were adopting a baby and the mother offered to pump for you, you'd jump at the chance. Even if it was just for the first few days/weeks. It's better for baby...it's good for mommy...where's the harm? :/ I'd have them set up a UPS account or something though so that they would just show up at my door to take the frozen/need to be refrigerated boxes away and drop off new ones and it would be nice if they would purchase some ice packs for it too. But I doubt that would be more expensive than formula. I know for a fact that that stuff is expensive. I hated buying it. It was like $20 a week. </3

Have you explained that to them? Men can be clueless about these sorts of thing, Mellie.

I've explained it to them, and so has my doctor. I think it has to do with personal boundries for them...they want the baby to be theirs, and if I'm pumping milk for them they'll feel like I'm still supporting baby. I can understand it...but at the same time, I'd much rather give baby what's best for him than what's convenient/easier on them. I figure to talk to them about it again, when my milk comes in give them another chance. I'm going to be pumping regardless of their decision though, since I know it's whats best for me. I just have to hope that they'll realize that since I'm doing it anyway, they might as well take advantage of it since it's also best for baby!

I know that that some mothers can EBF for up to a year with no problems at all... Baby still gains and is getting the nutrition that mom eats...

I hope they take it Mellie... Especially since you are going to be doing it anyhow... ><;; Seems like such a waste to just dump it... You could always donate it too! And they could always supplement with formula that way they aren't totally dependent on you for breast milk ^^

Jaz- if they don't want it I'm planning on donating it. I was looking up milk banks today, but didn't find anything useful. Granted i only went to one site, I figure to start looking more and talking to a friend about it whose done it before (a couple of times!) closer to either the due date or when my milk comes in.

Kura was perfectly healthy for the 9 months I exclusively breast fed her. Gained weight properly...probably more than she should have. My baby was chunky. xD I looooooved her thighs though! They had rolls! It was totally cute!

haha look at that chunky baby!

okay this one is from after we started giving her real food, but I think she was still under a year...

and totally unrelated but awwwwwww look at my little man.

I forgot what we were talking about. Woohoo cute babies!

and haha cute little Melody doll...

xD I totally forgot that I posted those last night. [/sleep deprived]

Man, this cough is keeping me up at all hours of the night, and when I'm not coughing the kids are...uuuugh.

So I think I may have convinced my IP's to finally come down next weekend. I told them it's when I was going to be attempting to induce labor, and the one that I don't talk to as often was like OMG I don't want to miss anything! Let me know before hand so that we can get going! D: and I'm like, lol...I've been telling your hubby this for the past 3 weeks and he's just like.... k, lemme know when your labor starts!
