How do you do the "someone's talking about you" thing... where it links a name???
Mynanaflirts, why do you feel out of the loop? We were discussing pregnancy tests and birth control methods essentially? Things that most people (girls at least) can relate to. We do talk about babies a lot, but if you hang out with step kids then you can put in your two cents there too :D My hubby is step dad to my oldest. And a great one at that...

I'm sorry mynanaflirts: please don't think we were intentionally ignoring you. I think we were all just concerned about llonka getting the attention she needs in the event that she might be pregnant. ^^;; An IUD and pregnancy don't go together well at all.
I'm sorry you've had trouble conceiving. Weight can play an issue in that, but I've known some people who are able to get pregnant despite that. Have you had any fertility testing done? That can at least help you when it comes to figuring out your next steps (since to be honest it does sound like you want a baby of your own. ^^;; ) It could be something as simple as changing the type of underwear your husband wears. ;) Briefs keep the testies closer to the body, and therefor warmer, warmer sperm don't perform as well as those that are able to regulate their temperature etc. Have you tried using the ovulation kits to keep track of your cycle and temperature etc? Have your periods been normal (ish) since they started? Or have you often gone months with out one?
>.> Not that I've been through fertility treatment, but apparently Yale was a bit confused as to why baby daddy and I were in there and so they were grilling me on the lot of this. Which was amusing when they realized their mistake. ^^;

Mine wears boxers and boxer briefs. Though apparently neither are "regulation" for the Coast Guard? But no one is saying anything or checking their underoos so it doesn't really matter. I got my hubby fixed a while ago. So babies aren't an issue for us now.
So Melody (my daughter now me) choose today to announce that there is a baby in my tummy. And when it grows up it's name will be Isabella. I knew I should have told the kids two days ago when it happened. So I started crying in her class and feeling like an idiot.
What the fuck? Is it pick on Melanie day and no one told me? Apparently someone also told my father I was pregnant so now he's asking how it's going. I hate my family. -_-

I was just messing... I was gonna edit my post after i had sent it cuz i was gonna tell her something too but then i had to leave and try and get food which i didn't get :(.... What is a IUD? I don't understand what that means? What is a fertitity test? yes he uses breifs he loves those underwear... and no i never new they had an ovulation kit... never really heard of them... last year i went 6 months without having a period but i think it was due to stress cuz my hubby moved out here to georgia and i was worried about him not wanting me or things going wrong... but once that 7 month came around i got one and just stayed regular... i haven't had one this month but i also just started working and getting use to standing and i have been sweating alot cuz i have been running and trying my best at work... everyone from vegas says i have lost alot of weight since i have been out here but i never see how cuz i don't see it on my body... i still look fat lol.
llonka: girl... i hate to say this but.... Don't listen to him! you need to get tested and do it soon cuz i really don't want nothing happening to you or the baby... if your pregnante. I might not know you but you are a friend of mine and i would like to keep talking to you and knowing your safe and okay.

nana- an IUD, well the one i have, is a piece of plastic they put in your uterus. mine is supposed to slowly let out some hormone, so i don't get pregnant. there are also metal ones, i think they are copper? not supposed to make you gain weight, but mine has.
i'm not pregnant. guess it's just all in my head or digestive issues. :P thanks for the concern! :hug:

An IUD is short for "intrauterine device", which stops pregnancies from happening (usually). I don't know what types are still available these days as I haven't had one in years. They are small and "T" shaped. Mine was plastic. It allegedly keeps fertilized embryos from implanting into the uterine wall, thus preventing pregnancy.
The reason we were worried about llonka is because if a pregnancy does occur, the IUD can then puncture the baby and kill it, or puncture the uterus and put the mother's life in danger. More can happen, but that's just some of the messes.
I'm also fat and got pregnant after a while. I had more going against me than my weight, unfortunately, but all is well with my daughter (and me), so I can't complain.
@llonka, I'm glad everything's okay!

A fertility doctor would give you the fertility tests. Your husband would give a sperm sample and they'd be able to tell you the sperm count. A high sperm count, of healthy sperm would indicate that the problem isn't with him. But they'd also have to look at the chemical composition of the semen. If that shows up negative then they'd start poking and proding you.
An ovulation kit will essentially tell you when you are ovulating, aka the best time to have sex if you want to get pregnant. Ovulation kits would probably be cheaper than going to a fertility specialist, as would changing the type of underwear he wears. If you do still want to try for a baby see about the small changes. I read an article saying that couples trying to conceive generally have to try over 100 times or so to get pregnant. So it does take time, I believe the average is around 5 or 6 months? Sometimes longer, sometimes it takes even less time. But there are a few things you can easily enough change up to try again. <3

shaun and I officially started trying today. well sort of trying. we agree were not going to pay attention to ovulation or anything along those lines. Just going to see what happens without anything being used. when/if it happens, it happens. we're just going to be happy with each other.
shaun is a boxers guy. come to think of it he could use some new ones.
is it just me or do guys tend to cling to old worn out clothes (particularly socks and boxers). ALL of my exes would wear socks with crazy holes and would prefer those even to new ones with no holes. same with boxers.

Oh Chi, buy some new panties. xD
Scott doesn't hang onto socks or boxers that need to be tossed...he hangs onto jeans. The knees can be completely gone and he'll still try to wear them out and say they're not that bad. uh, no. We're getting you new pants NOW. I got him 4 new pairs and tossed the others as they came up in the wash. Poor kid doesn't really have a chance when it comes to worn out clothing. Nor do the kids. I'm a stickler about that. Probably because I was the kid in school that got picked on for having holey clothes. It's stuck with me. No holes.

I am with empressofEvil... i just don't understand how men can keep their socks and underwear like that... I had to really force him to get some new underwear for christmas... it almost drove me to taking sissors to his underwear...
Melody: to be honest i feel weird sometime posting in these "parent" thread becasue i am not a parent... I am a step mother but other than that it actually makes me sad because we have been trying so hard to concive and its not working.... I don't know what to do... then on top of that.. lately a week before my period i get these sharp pains on the lower side of my belly and i don't know what it is. the hospital keeps saying its just my body is "growing" but i don't know. on another note.. Appearently i have been loosing a lot of weight, my friends and family from las vegas have seen new up to date pictures of me and have been awwed and they keep telling me what am i doing i am loosing alot of weight and i look good. I don't know what i am doing... and i am not really trying to loose weight... i don't know whats really going on...

Well congrats on the weight loss regardless. :3 It's generally a good thing. If your profile age is correct, you're still really young. So you don't have to stress about having a baby RIGHT NOW. You've still got time. :3
And it's not like we require the people who join in on this thread to be biological parents. that would be rude. Families are made in so many different ways these days, you don't have to have biological children to be a mother or father.

I still post here sometimes and I don't have any kids yet.
I have a brother that's 13/14 years younger than me. So I have experience with him in a way but that's about it.
rapid weight loss when you aren't doing anything to bring it on could be a very bad sign. just make sure you're watching yourself.

I started working about 3 weeks ago but everyone has been telling me i have been loosing weight for about 5 months now. I walk my dog a couple times a day but i don't think that would be any thing to helping loose weight. I don't eat as much as i use to... i try not to at least... lately food really hasn't been appealing to me. I rarely wanna eat.. and when i do i wanna eat something good. food just hasn't been catching my eye lately.
I know i am still young and still have time... but i am worried about the old man and his time... he is 33 and not getting any younger... i would like him to have some kinda fun with his kids....

Oh don't worry about men, they can father children up until their death beds. Sperm is created as needed, and sometimes even when it's not needed. It's really the womans age that puts things into a time's a ticking aspect. After 35 your eggs stop being as fresh and become harder to fertilize and grow. You've still got quite a way to go for that. And men seem to adore babies more as they get older, so like I said, don't worry about the men folk.

being active when you weren't at all before and not eating as much IS doing something. It causes a big difference when your active habits were 0 before. same with eating better. But eventually you will hit a plateau and it'll stop. or should if you're not progressively walking farther or exercising more or eating even better. but its good to be healthier and be living healthier. :) make sure you're eating enough though. eating isn't bad especially if its healthy foods. actually most of my friends have the best results when they just follow the diabetic diet. which in essence has them eating small amounts throughout the whole day.

lol. well.. there is a new diabetic diet that is actually based on carbs and not sugars. granted you'll still say no to things like a cupcake on a diabetic diet just because. its the smart thing to do.. but butter. I think is all fat content which they allow on the carb counting one.
