It's a girl! I've yet to pick a name, I'm actually having trouble with it. I made a thread in Life Issues to see if anyone had any thoughts on the names I've narrowed it down to! It's down to Violet Akela, Mia Tova, or Elliotte Rain.

What's the pronunciation of the third first name?

ehl-ee-ot. Same as Elliot, just an alternative spelling.

Gotcha, I wasn't sure if the e at the end of the name would make the T a tay or tuh. Personally I like Violet Akela. You may not even know until she's born though. My dad had wanted me to be named Paula, but when I was born I looked nothing like a Paula to my mom, so she waited and thought of names for two days before finally naming me. So you may decide on one, and realize that baby doesn't fit the name and go for an alternative choice. (: Babies are...fun like that. lol

I'm leaning towards Violet Akela or Mia Tova right now. Akela is my middle name, but I'm not sure if it'll be a good fit or not. Mia Tova is what my heart is feeling for my little beanie. That's what we're calling her right now, Beanie.

Welcome, Meow! :) You're almost there... yay!

We had our girl's name picked out probably halfway through, and we were lucky that it fit her. We were at a loss for something else!

Mia Tova sounds adorable! Can I use it if you don't? xD

I really really REALLY want to name my first child London, after a camper in my cabin last fall. She came from a really awful home life and was well known by the camp staff as a general PITA when she first started going. She's really turned around though and, while not without issues, she's made GREAT strides in her ability to cope with her anxiety and be kind and open towards her peers. Her being in my cabin group was her SEVENTH time at camp! She was just a ton of fun and I made her the "cabin leader" since she was the only one who had been to camp out of her group (plus she knew some of the games better than I did xD).

So I'm thinking London Michael for a boy and London Rae for a girl.

Hubby isn't convinced yet though... but I've got time to work on him :ninja:

Haha, yes, you can!

London is an adorable name. I used to want to name my first daughter Korea when I was in high school, but I kind of grew out of that one.

lol, My daughter was going to be Sakura. Hubby had no say in the matter (luckily he was on board with the name) but as they bring the birth certificate information to the mother after the birth...mom always has final say! At least, in the US. I was so happy when she was born and the name was still perfect for her. Or I would have been at a total loss! D: Actually, I probably would have used her middle name and come up with another middle.

Of course that line of thinking got my IP's in trouble when their son was born. They totally thought he was going to be a she, and so the only name they had decided on was Isabella. Out pops a boy and they were speechless. It was pretty funny. Of course they wanted to be left in the dark about the gender of the baby so you won't have that issue. But I thought it was amusing enough to share. :D

Keyori: we went to Columbia and Centralia. Hubby has family that lives out in the country about 10 miles from Centralia. We shopped a lot Saturday there in Columbia. It was fun, wish we could have stayed longer. :P

Congrats Meow!

I've got a couple of friends who live there. My favorite gay bar is there too >3>;;

My husband is going there this summer for a wedding. I haven't decided whether or not to go yet.

I always had a blast there. My favorite memories are of the men who hit on me there (never any girls though!). One was a young-ish guy, really scrawny. I was wearing a red corset and he came up to me and he was like, "I had a dream that I would marry a woman in red. Will you go out with me?" I turned him down since I was dating someone else at the time. xD

The other guy was a transvestite. He was pretty cute but he looked old, like in his 30's or 40's. He didn't come on to me as strong as the other guy but he definitely flirted.

Totally fun. I wasn't even old enough to drink when I was going regularly. Hubby doesn't like that stuff though so I haven't been in a long time. I should really go with my brother-in-law next time I see him, but he's not the "gay bar" type gay. He's more cowboy gay. Poo :C

Mellie if you ever come back to Cali I will totally go to a gay bar with you xD

My mother in law is a lesbian, we'd always joked about going out to gay bars with her, my best friend and my sister just because...it would be fun. We never did though, I don't think there were any gay bars around where we lived. O.o

>.> I'll be traveling through Cali in two years (ish) time, so I'll totally take you up on that offer! I'm pretty sure my hubby would be cool with going too. xD

Well I guess that means I need to look up some good ones. I'm willing to bet there aren't any around here... just like there aren't any ice rinks D:

WHY ARE ICE RINKS SO FAR AWAY?! The closest one is in Thousand Oaks or something. That's like... four hours without traffic through Santa Barbara.

I went ice skating when I was 9 and did a full split on the ice. I've always been a tall fat chick. Wasn't good. :XD

I think the first time I went ice skating I was 11, I stayed around the edge of the rink. It was at a friends birthday party and most of the other girls didn't like me so it wasn't worth it to attempt to keep up with them. >.<

Happy Pi Day Mammas!

Ilonka: Oh shoot, I have no idea what it's called either. I just remember that we always went to the drag shows. xD

I've only been ice skating once. I took to it really quickly. It was a daycare field trip. Unfortunately it got cut short because it was too crowded. I skated for maybe 10 minutes. I want to go again so badly! D:

YES. YES THAT IS EXACTLY THE ONE I WENT TO. xD

I'm so glad you jogged my memory. I was about to have a really awkward phone conversation with someone I used to go with (who is now an elementary school teacher).
