Yeah, for me, I'm one in like, ten daughters born on both sides. Not that girls aren't freaking AMAZING, but I really just want a son to carry on the names for both sides.

Yeah I am the only girl in my family...well there are a few on my dads side but on my mums there is only me. The way I like it x3
Though in all honesty I am not that bothered about family name...I don't like it anyway so wouldn't really want to burdon any children with it. Thankfully my kid will be getting the name of Anderson :)

I gave the kids my husbands last name. But I still have mine. I don't want to change it. It's 1/3 the size of his last name, and i hate signing his. I'll happily stick with my short 3 letter last name.
I kicked my familys butt. Everyone had two sons then a daughter (or two in my parents case) I had two daughters and then a son. and I'm done with my own kids. Now my poor siblings and cousins will have to attempt to have cuter babies than me. Totally not possible but they can try if they want. haha.
Portia- The butters/lotions will help prevent them too. It's the scratching that loosens the skin up enough to stretch. At least thats what I and my friends have noticed. If you keep your skin hydrated (and are genetically awesome to have skin that stretches with out marking) you should be fine.
I'm not too worried about my son though. he plays with his boy toys just as much as he plays with girl toys (and the girls play with the 'boy toys' too so I think they'll just be balanced. If he turns out gay I'm cool with that too. ^^;; Typical mom response: I just want them to be happy.

Yeah? Oh I didn't know that. I will pick one of them up on my travles, they have a really nice looking one, its mango scented. I may try that.
It will be hard to have cuter kids than yours, good luck to them x3
I actually wouldn't mind a gay son, they are supposed to be lovely to their mums lol
Yeah, I will definately be giving my kid my boyfriends name. Ooh three letters, very unique. My one is Meach. I really dislike it, especially as my first name is Mellinda so whenever someone says my name in full it is very annoying alliteration. :gonk:

Melody, I'm the same way. If I have a gay/lesbian child, whatever. I'll be happy if they are. :)
I plan on having my children take my last name. Which will be VERY LONG!
Is it possible to give a child one last name? >.> Say, if I have three sons and I give them each on last name: my father's, my mother's and my husband's? Is that legal?

I imagine that you wouldn't be able to seperate them like that, so if you wanted those names carried on you would have to give all three to one child.

Yeah there are allsorts of weird regulations for names, like if your not married you have to have the father with you at the time you sign the birth certificate otherwise your baby doesn't get their last name.

Yeah...me too *shifty eyes*
Well that was the plan for me too, we weren't actually planning to have a baby for another three or four years yet, so we could get married and in a better financial situation. Though as I am a bit of a scatterbrain and forgot the pill quite often it wasn't really working for me. I was planning going in for the IUD but its a little late for that now :P

Clair- you can name your children however you want to. There are no laws against it, but the children may wonder why Johnnys last name is Smith, while Janes last name is Jones and Billys last name is Baker
The last two didn't intentionally have alleritation to them, it just sounded decent in my head. ^^;;
Kura in the nursery was known as baby (insert my last name) because though scott and I were married I hadn't taken his last name nor had we done the birth certificate stuff yet.
If you know the father, you can give the child that last name, in the hospital they may not call it baby mans last name' if that isn't yours, but that;'s because they keep track of the children and who they belong to by the bracelets they put on your wrists. Mine said my last name, she came out of me, hers said my last name. Keeps men from running off with babies etc.
Long story short: You're in charge of the birth certificates. Name them as you wish.

OH! So I can give my children different last names!? :D
Okay.
And I think they'll be okay with it. My mother and I don't have the same last name. Like you, Melody, and your children. My sisters and I have our father's name. Mom changed her back when my parents divorced.

Yeah, so I don't think it'll be that crazy if my children have different last names.
They'll have the same last name as me (at least one of my names)

I don't care. xD At the moment, I only have a four letter last name. I'll add my mother's legally soon, then my husbands... when I get married. xD

Nope. What order are you wanting them in? Or does it not matter? Some prefer to be known by one out of the others where as some like to be known in full.
Sorry for being nosey x3
