  • [list:def75b3634]I can't stand the thought of plastic surgery. I may not be the most attractive guy, but becoming so by unnatural means would make me feel like I'm being dishonest to everyone I meet. Like some sort of big, elaborate lie. That's not something I could live with

I'm all pro plastic surgery for medical reasons. For cosmetic reasons, I leave that up to the person in question to decide for themselves. As long as they've considered it carefully and have understood all the risks then I think it should be their choice.
I've heard about Asian blepharoplasty as well and I did consider having it done when I was younger simply because my eye lashes sometimes bends inwards and irritate my eyes but I don't think it'd make any real difference for me. Plus, I'm absolutely terrified of pain in any shape or form so going under the knife when it's not nessecary frightens me a lot (I know the procedure probably wouldn't hurt, it's the healing period which worries me).
The grass is always greener on the other side and if I fix something, I'd probably soon have something else to complain about. That's just the way I am.

The worst case scenario to me would be having my face and/or body altered so that even I wouldn't be able to recognize myself.
I often wished I looked more European when I was a kid since everyone made fun of me for being Asian but now that I think about it, if I woke up with another face, I wouldn't really feel as if the person in the mirror was me.

Now, I'm going to watch a bit of that movie. :3

Good lord am I ever against COSMETIC plastic surgery.

If you were injured or there is something wrong, go for it.

Otherwise, STFU and deal with what you got.

And that movie IS a good movie.

I have watched it before, being addicted to crunchyroll.

- What do you think of people with plastic surgery?

Now, there are two different types. Recently, my friend was in a car accident, and her face got pretty messed up. She had to get plastic cosmetic surgery in order to get her face back to normal -- reconstructed, if you will. The way it was going to be if she didn't have it, her skull would have grown back abnormally. It's amazing how it works that way. All that remains is the same face I know and love and one small scar across her eyebrow where the hair will never grow back. Truly, in that case, it's a blessing.

But in the case of just wanting it done to look different like many of these celebrities do, I have no idea why they do it. Joan Rivers for example. She's supposed to be old-looking due to her age, yes, and I'm itching to know what she might look like if she hadn't done all that to her face. She still looks around 40 - 50. I don't remember her real age. In those instances, I think plastic surgery is ridiculous.

- Would you ever do it?

Absolutely not. Unless I had been in a car crash, or my life was threatened if my body was in a state that would jeopardize my health, then yes, I would. Other than that, for the sake of getting a different look, absolutely not.

- Would you ever want anyone else you know to do it?

I love everyone I know exactly the way they are. I don't think that any of them should have it.

Plastic surgery always reminds me of jeffree star. Bahaha And I think its fine if you do turn to plastic surgery just dont go too far. One Micheal Jackson is enough. xD But really I think you should do whatever makes you happy. Thats always what people try to accomplish in life anyways. To get to a point were they are happy.

Aww. <3 That must be a wonderful movie. :]

Certain surgeries, I'm fine with. Surgeries that are unnecessary? No thanks. I like how I look like. <3

Personally, unnecessary surgeries are unnecessary for a reason. xP Unless if you are horribly ugly..Yeah..You don't need them..>__> And celebrities? PFFT, YOU'RE CELEBRITIES FOR A REASON! D=<

I would never do it unless if I really need it. Like if the doctor said so, I look fa-bu-lous. 8) xD Thank you very much! <3

That movie sounds stupid...it had better be a comedy. I'm not going to get that kind of surgery unless I need some extra skin do to a horrible accident. I'm sorry, but I dont want to end up like Joan Rivers or Micheal Jackson. For cosmetic reasons, it doesn't matter. You'll always be unhappy with your look because it's not your look, its YOU. YOU'RE failing to deal with the real problem that's inside you,so whenever you think you're satisfied,by the time that decision is made, you've already mutated yourself by getting too much work done all because of insecurity and vanity. Is it really worth it?

well i dont agree with plastic surgery if you are just not satisfied with what you were given..i do think its a great thing for if you were in an accident and your face was completely messed up..or if your eye sight is really bad...i believe in lazer surgery for that..which isnt considered a medical need by insurance companies...and the one thing that i absolutely think is stupid is Botox..you are basically injecting toxin/poison into your face...did you know that that toxin is created by a bacteria and use to kill people!

Nope. I'm me. I'm ugly, but I'm fine.

No. I like how they all look.

i think its okay for some people.
like if someone has something on there face that was there all there life, and its making there life shitty, then its okay.
but i mean like when people get it just so they can look " hot" is kinda stupid

- Would you ever do it?
only if i HAD to.xD

People should be allowed to have it, but I think it's kind of sad that people feel driven to alter themselves so drastically, and it's quite unnerving that this just raises the bar for what's already an unattainable standard of beauty. Celebrities are often already naturally attractive, then they have surgery, then on magazine covers their flaws are airbrushed out - how's an ordinary Joe gonna compare to that?

'Course, if you've got a serious problem with your looks, it's a different matter altogether. The first plastic surgery was performed on soldiers who'd suffered really nasty injuries, and in their case the surgeon was just trying to restore normality. That's understandable.
Rest of the time, if it ain't serious, it's your choice, but it's a bit sad and a bit vain.

I've not had any myself, but if it's something that will improve ones self esteem, I don't see anything wrong with it.
Of course, you would definitely seek out an accredited and experienced surgeon that would inform you of the possible complications that could occur. Advances in digital imaging has made it much easier to see what the expected results will look like.

what i think of the people that have it done. 1st thing i think is that they must have money. the 2ed thing i think is why did they do it.

would i ever have it done. my answer is no. even tho i don't like how i look i still will never have that much money, and that i could never live with my self if having it done. It would make me feel that people don't like the real me.

I'm not sure if i what anyone else to know about it.

Really, plastic surgery can go wrong any time. Only once in a rare time you will get off lucky. But why bother waste all your money to look good? You can do it naturally if it's like fat or pimples. If you got a crooked nose, deal with it! No one's perfect and if you want to end up "perfect", well suit yourself. Just don't blame the surgeons when it goes wrong. :/

Haha. Fellow crunchyroller I see. x3

And plastic surgery, I think is fine.
If it makes the person feel better about themselves, then they should do it.
Just..they should be careful on how far they take it.

I myself want plastic surgery.

I want a sex change.

But since they have not perfected it yet, I am waiting.

I am mentally transgendered.

But to be physically transgendered, I must wait.

I also plan to have liposuction and breast augmentation. (Chop off my boobies. C: )

  • - What do you think of people with plastic surgery?
Well. If they do it because they feel miserable about how they look, I say it's just weak (excuse me). But seriously.. if God wanted us to be perfect, he would've thrown us on the world with pretty faces. No, we're different and we should be happy with how we look.
I'm perfectly fine with it when someone has lost a limb or has been damaged this bad that his/her body is destroyed plastic surgery can help them to regain their original body. So yeah.
I'm a bit in a dilema actually, since I do understand the people who are unhappy with their bodies. But erm.. sucking away fat instead of just going to the gym.. isn't that just lazy?

    - Would you ever do it?
Only if I were to become desperate. But on the moment I don't want to think about it. I'm going to the gym and my body is changing because of my own effort. That feels better than when it's done for you.

    - Would you ever want anyone else you know to do it?
    ...Er.. no?

(hear me rambling about God.. I'm an athiest for pity sake. :|)

I think in some way plastic surgery can be good if you are doing it for yourself and it is going ot make you feel better............ BUT! if your not doing it for yourself but for someone else for example for like a boyfriend or husband if they brought the thought on you like they mention it then they want it for themselves but not for the way you feel, you look, which I think its important to like the way you look and if you like the way you are then you shouldn't change yourself for someone else.

Well thats what I think about plastic surgery.

- What do you think of people with plastic surgery?
I don't think they're superficial but I think they were pressured into doing it because we live in a society with lots of beauty stereotypes. We're constantly bombarded with images from the media telling how we should look. I've always wondered how those asians escaped the traditional flat nose. I had no idea that they would do plastic surgery! I'm chinese and it's funny because my nose isn't flat. My mom told me that when I was a baby she would kind of pinch and stroke my nose at the same time so she should said I should thank her for my nose. I find that such bullshit because I wouldn't care at all what it looks like.

- Would you ever do it?
Never not even if they offered to do it free for me. I believe that God made us the way we are for a reason. Nobody's perfect. We need to stop believing in the media's criteria of beauty. They're only trying to sell beauty products. We need to have our own opinion of beauty. I'm quite tall (1.7 m) but I'm a size 10 and my parents are constantly telling me that I need to lose wight but I don't think I'm fat or obese. Maybe a size 8 would be perfect for them, but I feel happy in my own skin.

- Would you ever want anyone else you know to do it?

I'd try to convince them that it's useless. There are lots of other ways to boost one's self-estime like exercising or putting on makeup. I've managed to convince one of my friends to start eating because she was anorexic for 2 years so I think I would be able to convince them not to waste their money on plastic surgery. Besides sometimes it could turn horribly wrong. For example: Michael Jackson!

- What do you think of people with plastic surgery?
Well, I haven't really met anyone who had plastic surgery. But I feel that people who has gotten it done are not comfortable in their own skin. We were made a certain way and we should be proud of what we look like.

- Would you ever do it?
Oh heaven's no. I would never go under the knife. It's just not for me.

- Would you ever want anyone else you know to do it?
No, I sure wouldn't like I said in the first question. You should be proud of what you look like.

That movie was great. I watched half last night and the other half today. I've never been to that site before and I am in love with it. I've seen so many cool things.

- What do you think of people with plastic surgery?
I think that plastic surgery is over-criticized. I mean, I know that to the mass public, plastic surgery is more of a taboo because people do it all the time for vanity issues, and that really is the majority of what plastic surgery is. But I think that people don't realize that it can also be used to save lives, to help people recover from accidents that left them visibly scarred for life, or even just to help cure a disease. I know that plastic surgery can't cure diseases, but think about it. It's possible that it does good too.

- Would you ever do it?
While I know I said that it was mostly for vanity, even though it could help save people and restore them to their former selves, I would consider it whenever I got older. I would never go through with it unless I knew that it would be what was best for me, and after going through a lot of research.

- Would you ever want anyone else you know to do it?
Of course not. But I'm not against them getting it either. It's their choice, and if they decided they wanted it, I would support them fully!

You look bad after the surgery, and sometimes people do back for more or to undo what they did.
- Would you ever do it?
Uhm... no. o.O Unless it's real surgery that I need ex: I was in an accident. D;

Eh, whatever. It's their choice. I'm cool with it.

- Would you ever do it?
A chance to become a man? HELL YES. Too expensive, though, so I'd never do it... unless I'm issued a coupon or summat. I'd be pleased to use it if it'd help after some horrifying grotesque injury, though.

- Would you ever want anyone else you know to do it?
Why not? I ain't dictating their lives for them. If that's how they want to do things, go right on ahead.
