hullo & welcome to my art post thread 8D I guess I'll be posting sketches/ wips / finished stuff / whatever here. Right now I'd really love some feedback on two wips of mine <3 con crit is loved, although it may take a while for me to get back to you (con crit only being loved once injury has had time to heal & reason takes over).

remember these are wips so some parts of them are unfinished <3

Wow, I love your unique style.
And great CG style as well.
I myself can't think of anything that needs improved.
Good luck with finishing them^^

Beeeeautiful.
I love the colours of the first picture. And the expression! It's full of such completely fabulous contempt.
Are you going to build up warm or cool highlights? I'm inclined to say warm highlights would suit it, but that might be... incongruous with the background. Gold? That would look lovely.
You might already be intending this but pleeease, don't use too much contrast? I think the beauty of this picture is in the colour, I really think having too bright highlights or dark shadows might make it less effective D: Minimal tonal difference pleeease?
Hmm, only thing there that I can see is that she has such a skinnyminny neck. But that's my stylistic think; I like 'em more realistic.

The strength of the profile in the second is wonderful. But I don't get what's happening with the hair- hard to tell since it's still a WIP.
The lips! Gorgeous.
I'm wanting to suggest you give him an adam's apple, because I think that little appendage would look really striking and make him more elegant. Too few pictures include it!

Your style is delightful! I love your blending.
I can't wait to see the finished piece n.n

Ooo I got a thing for unfinished work. So to me I'd stop right there just because no I can close my eyes and only dream of how beautiful the next few steps in you drawing will be. I'm a dreammer and went the artist leaves it up to me to finish their work it just warms up my art so. But it's also a nice feeling to see it finished. A little I-candy never hurt anyone ^_^

Something that might help when working with goldish colours browns are always good shading colours. I always have to remind myself that.

Thank you, tralala~! <3 I'm thinking about building up some more warm highlights, but she's going to have actual gold on her so I'm not sure; I'd like some more contrast. If I do bulid up cooler highlights, I think I'm going to change the background color to something more neutral. I agree about the neck; it is too skinny; I'm doing this all on one layer in OC so as I'm correcting things I also end up thinning them at times, but her neck is going to be thicker by the end.

The hair is sort of alling down in front of him; I had to paint over some of it because where it really is is right next to his face; if I had kept it there when I was painting his skin the skintone would keep picking up dark blue, which is really really annoying. The adam's apple suggestion is great, by the way, I'll probably end up moving his collar down so I can fit one in <3 thanks so much~!!

Thanks Swordtear <3 I paint on one layer in OC to give it a more organic paint-y look.

Thanks Lilim ~ I'm happy with these so far, but I know they can be improved. I'm excited about seeing this finished product myself, although I know what you mean about unfinishedness. I do so love sketches *___* they have such life & oppurtunity. & I'll keep that in mind about the colours~~ <33

I really don't have anything to say except that they're very pretty. I really like the first person's skin color.

I'm going to try to do a nice concrit for you later on (it's quite late for me and i'm a bit of a zombie at the moment ^^), but here's some gold tutorials I found. I hope you can get something from them. ^^

[link]

...well, that's not many...

but here's some nice reference pics that I though might be useful. I tried to find some that looked similar to the style of drawing in your WIPs
[link]
[link] not really your style...but it's goldified

well...I feel like that was less productive than I had hoped it would be, but maybe I found something that could help you at least. I sent you an invite on Gaia, btw. ;)

Thank you so much & I would love a good concrit <3 I've actually looked at the first tutorial before & bookmarked it, I've just been too lazy to look at it quite yet 8D; The reference pictures are great; especially the first one. Minix's gallery is amazing *_______* deifnite inspiration!! <33 It may be less productive than you hoped, but it was certainly helpful <3 I haven't been on Gaia yet today; I'll get on & accept <33

neat!

You've got a great grasp of the facial structures, and your lighting is superb!

Not to mention that I'm wowed because its completely digital. Excellent!

It's[the unfinished one up top] very dark, though...perhaps you could define the planes of the face just a little bit more, maybe with brighter light or more clearly defined shadow..
