I don't know if they should stop it because I'm pretty sure there are still a lot of little kids that really like it. For us it may have lost it's appeal because, honestly, the same thing happens each time but apparently as long as kids are watching it I don't see why they should stop broadcasting the show.

I used to like it as a kid, but I feel that it should stop. After a certain point in Johto, the show began to repeat itself- Ash somehow loses his 'old generation' Pokemon, catches ones from the new 'generation', meets some new girl character, kills her bike which causes her to join up with him, he fights the new gym leader, wins them, loses to the Elite Four of that region, rinse, wash, repeat for three more seasons. :(
It's getting to be the same thing every season, only with new Pokemon, and a new girl character. Who gets more and more annoying.(Although I DID like May more than Misty, but Dawn is worse than any character in the show). And would it hurt them to have a female lead that doesn't like cute Pokemon? -_-. At least they could say that she was different, then.

I like the games and stuff, but the shows ARE a little boring/redundant. But a lot of kids who like it don't even know that the episode they're watching is practically the same as one from 10 years ago, so I don't see what the big deal is. A lot of younger kids still watch it, a lot of older kids don't like it anymore, but they don't have to watch it.

my opinion is that they should do more episodes like the one with Richie and celebi or more of the ones with just the pokemon.

Yes, they should stop making new pokemon episodes.
Or they should just stop making new pokemon in general.
Unfortunately I heard that they're not stopping until pokemon stops making them money, or something like that.
This day and age, it wouldn't really surprise me if they did say that.

It is a good show, and I think they keep making new seasons for the newer generations to watch. It is what a lot of us grew up on after all. Though if the newer generations want to watch the beginning of pokemon...they will have to either spend a lot of money for the dvds, or do a lot of tracking down.
Personally< I do feel that the anime has gotten too long. I stopped shortly after silver and gold games came out. I miss my crystal game though! That was the first and I think only game you could play as a girl trainer.
I do not think they can stretch the anime as much anymore, ideas are being used up and people will just get tired of it.

I think the only thing that should stop is the episodes. the toys, cards and whatnot can keep going. I know I wanna buy my kids pokemon stuff when I get older.
anyways, WAY to many episodes, I only like the first couple of seasons with the 150 pokemon and some of the movies, but after that I found pretty lacking in new material that it needed to make it good.

I personally think that it should stop. Perhaps, that's because I remember the "old school" Pokemon, when it was worth watching. Now, there's too many (and too many silly-looking) Pokemon to keep track of, too many unnessecary characters that no one cares about, main characters keep changing (including Team Rocket. What the heck is that about?) and there's still no plot. So...I think that it should cease to continue, and just keep playing the good, original episodes.

This is going to be long but I got to get it out. Here's how it SHOULD have been. Even though Ash lost at the Kanto League, he should have won the Orange Island League. Brock should not have left and Terry should've been Oak's assistant from the beginning. After winning in the Orange Isles Ash should've gone straight back to Kanto, train harder than ever, defeat Giovanni, then eventually win the League. Afterwards he would defeat the Elite Four and then Gary and after all of that Ash would go to Mt. Silver to train more, Misty and Brock would return to their gyms.
The next season would focus on Gold and Crystal and their rival would be Silver. Team Rocket (Jessie, James, and Meowth) would have by this time as they mentioned yet did not do at the end of the 2nd movie was quit Team Rocket and become trainers themselves. They could follow Crystal and Gold and actually train with them instead of trying to steal pokemon. After going through Johto one of them should win the Johto league (problebly Crystal). After that they go to Kanto and have adventures there and learn about Ash and his exploits. Eventually Jessie and James would leave and get married, Meowth would stay with the trainers for more adventures. Eventually they each defeat Gary and because of Gary's attitude and personality Meowth would stay behind with him. (form another pokemon show to follow Gary and Meowth's exploits to surpass Ash, eventually teaming up with Silver) Kanto Tournament comes up and one of them should win (this time Gold). Afterwards they find out where Ash is and together they go to Mt. Silver.
Next season Hoenn and then Sinnoh. Similiar stories. Eventually the the champions of each series/season (Ash, Crystal, Gold, the Hoenn champs, the Sinnoh champs and Gary & Silver) would meet on Mt. Silver and battle it out in a free for all to see who is the best (this would of course take place in a movie). Afterwards (up in the air whoever becomes the champ) they go their seperate ways. Ash marries Misty, Gary and Silver both become professors, others do whatever they want, series for now ends until Ash and Misty's child turns 10.
And that is how it SHOULD have gone. Sorry if this was long, but as I said I had to get this out of my system. Granted the story would've been much longer yet the series would for the most part be much more enjoyable than what it is now. Please tell me what you all think.

I like your version of it and I reckon that's how it should have gone, but it didn't and now I don't watch Pokemon anymore. Plus Ash's new voice is just weird for me.
Maybe this is just me or maybe it isn't but I feel like Pokemon is just pretty much predictable nowadays. 'Cause your always going to know that Team Rocket will always try and steal the Pokemon, Ash and his pals will all ways save the day and win or loose something & Brock will always get love eyes at some poor innocent girl. That's so to me, it's just too predictable and I dislike it and I think they should stop Pokemon all together 'cause of it.

I actually stopped watching Poke'mon when they changed the voices. I honestly think more people, who watched it back in the good old days, would like it more. I don't think it will end, because the creator can still come up with more Pokemon. In a way it is a good thing, because then I can buy more games and not be so bored with only being able to catch 150. But the bad part is, with so many Pokemon, you kind of can't come up with a new plot. If you do notice, the plot is always the same in every season. I do like the movies and I do plan on buying the first two seasons of Poke'mon and the others that I actually like. No, I do not plan on watching Pokemon on Cartoon Network. I might have watched a few episodes, but after hearing THOSE voices, I just wanted to rip my ear drums out. MAN!! And I thought the dubbed version of other anime were bad. Now to the person who said that if they are going to keep going to just change the main characters, I say "No". Only because I was very disappointed when they got new main characters for Yu-gi-oh. What would be good, is that Ash--the kid who doesn't age and wears dirty clothes, becomes a Poke'mon master, the other characters become Gmy Leaders, Team Rocket gets a REAL job and gets their own Pikachu, and they start a new kind of Pokemon with a new main character who wants to someday be able to beat Ash---who is still the kid that doesn't age, in the Kanto league.(I left it out, but Ash becomes the strongest Elite in all regions)

I love everything Pokemon, but the only thing I never really caught on to was the Pokemon anime. Ok, when I was like five/ six I watched the show on cartoon network very often, but I never watched beyond the second season besides a few loose episodes here-and-there.
But, from what I've heard I really don't want to watch much of anything beyond that.
There is more than 500? That is kinda a lot.

YES! Oh my Death, yes, it needs to stop! I liked it during the Kanto, Johto and Hoen regions, but after that....I mean, you would think for one that Ash would be in like his what 20's by now or something if not wanting to settle down and having a family. The games have gotten ridiculous, and now they have a pokemon one where it isn't even Ash anymore.
Growing up, I looked forward to coming home, turning on that t.v. and watching Pokemon, now I actualy feel my eye twitch if I see it

Yes, they should. The anime is running out of ideas. The only thing I don't mind is the movies, some of them can be pretty good. XD
I don't mind the new pokemon, I even have pokemon Diamond and I love it, I just don't like the fact that they keep making new seasons for the new games, its pretty annoying. :/

I actually don't think it should stop. For one reason is it's aimed toward little kids anyways. I mean, if I was growing up in this day and age I would at least want to know about Pokemon and get into Anime. Not some crappy Cartoon that Cartoon Network is showing these day and age. I also think it shows valuable reason and such. I mean, I watch it still when I am bored and I talk to myself while watching it. -cough- Though I have no cable so I can't do that. XD

They should come up with some new, not stop it completely. How about letting the characters grow up? I mean how long has Ash/Satoshi been 10 years old? How about a time-skip to his teen years like may 15 or 16. And give it a more satisfying story and villains (Team Rocket makes good comic relief...not villains) and I think it would be awesome. Instead of just targeting kids, they can put some more violence or something in it for the older audiences. This is just me and friend's personal preference but more romance!
The regions they've been traveling are all based on actual regions in Japan. (Kanto = Kanto region, Shinou = Hokkaido, Jhoto = Chubu, Hoenn = Kyushu)
So if they stop recycling the same stuff and focus on a better story, it would be a pretty good show.

The way the pokemon series is now is just a mess. Too much filler and Jessie and James just seem to keep getting more and more annoying. The replacements for Misty; May and Dawn, are just poor substitutes living under the shadow of Misty. Ash's rivals after Gary are just simply unlikeable. At least even in his most snootiest Gary exuburated an aura of cool around him. Ash is simply a loser who will never be a master. He releases all of his good pokemon or never uses them. His pikachu is able to shock ground type pokemon yet when an obviously weaker than electric pokemon comes around pikachu is easily defeated. Ash now seems to take forever to reach the gyms to battle. Basically yes, the way it is, they should cancel it as soon as possible.
If they want pokemon to be entertaining again they should focus on someone else. For example, how about Shirona or Lance when they were starting out. Since they're masters now it would be interesting watching how they got to be the way they are now.

I don't think Pokemon should stop, but it has gotten a bit stale. I'm glad that new generations still have Pokemon. It would be great for the older fans if they changed it up a bit. Let Ash grow up, focus on a different trainer, something.

It should stop, I mean, aside from the fact that's repetitive and there's next to no story line in it at all, the voices are REALLY annoying.
