Juli! DX I have a bit of a problem, and I have no idea what to do about it.

School starts in two weeks, and all summer I have been looking for a job. Now, I am really close to actually getting a job, and my dad tells me that he doesn't want me to get one because we have a sidejob that we do every year from September to April. The thing is, is that my dad wants me to work with him this year, every other day, sharing with my brother, and I can't do that because it means less money for me, and I really need the money. I have college in a year, and I can't afford not to have the hours you know? So I really want an actual job, one that I can transfer whenever I get into college. And I have an almost guaranteed position at this job but my dad doesn't want me to take it. I think taking it would be what is best for me, but I don't want to upset my dad and make him work alone with my brother. What should I do?

  what days would you be working at this job? alsoo, i think if you can manage and really don't want to hurt your dad's feelings, maybe on days when you aren't working at your own job, you can help a bit with the one with your dad and brother. but if its a job that you can't work at both and go to school, then you'll have to tell your dad that you really want to earn money for yourself before leaving for college.
  
  i think that you should take the job though, i'm sure your dad and brother can manage on their own and every once in awhile you can help out a bit.

Well I even offered to help out on my days off you know? Because If I'm not working at this job, then I can work with my dad and it works out because I get paid by both places. But my dad really wanted it to be both my brother and I working with him. My brother would do it one day, and I would do it the next, and we would keep alternating you know? So I don't know what to do DX

And I really want this job. I have a really close friend that I would be working with, and I love the place that it would be at. I think that I would do well there!

• ♥ » what if you worked both jobs? would that be too much? cause if it wasn't then on the days where you're not working at your other job you could work with your dad; and how long would you be working at each place? if you got your schedule for your other job then you could somehow add the times when you'll work with your dad into it and get your brother to work with your dad the days you're working at the other place.

Well I know I wouldn't have to work with my dad on Sundays, because he doesn't work those days. And I don't mind working with him on my days off. I'd like to actually, because it's more money for me you know?

And I have told him. My parents think I should work with my dad, at least for the beginning though, and then get a more permanent job. But the thing about that is that I wouldn't be as lucky finding a job. And I really want to find a job before the snowbirds come back to Arizona DX

  if its unlikely to find another job later, then you should take that other job and just explain again to your parents, or you could always work with your dad then find another job which might not been what you wanted.

Snowbirds are people who live in other states, but come to Arizona during the winter to avoid the colder temperatures and weather that their homestates bring them. So they come here and wear shorts because 50 degrees Fahrenheit is warm to them. I'm too lazy to convert xD

And I kind of have, I just don't want my parents to be upset with me.
