It's so cute. My dad gets all angry if you say the word 'period' 'puberty' or 'menopause'. xD

My dad asked me what revision I did today and I said "hormones and the Menstrual cycle."
He was like
*cough* *grumble* *mutter* "...good.."
And I swear he blushed. xD

Guys are so silly about these things. Or it's just my dad. xD

edit;
I think Jelly's right- it is just men over a certain age. xD

Not all guys though...
I swear... My boyfriend and his cousin (they live together) they really have no problem where I usually run across guys not wanting to talk of it.. or just avoid it...

It was amusing.. also the fact that my boyfriend's cousin admitted that he bought tampons for a girl once, and she wasn't with him. He'll buy my friend who's his girlfriend, the stuff when she's with him and such with his purchases but that's amazing... Haven't had the chance to see if my boyfriend would.. >.>

My Dad gets glowered at whenever we talk about periods.

>__< I've taken to taking the first day of mine off school since I get mega bad cramps (I've passed out and puked before from abdominal pain and can't concentrate in school like that so there's no point in going in) and he was like, "Why don't you take the dog for the walk?"

I didn't answer. xD;

It didn't help that I was in an almighty mood and close to tears, but the thought of being struck down outside and actually having to get up... well, I'm told when your hormones start going some people actually mimic going into labour; the bottom part of your spinal column seperates or something so it can't support your upper body so it freaking hurts to do anything but lie down...

It's like, YOU TRY LIVING LIKE THIS FOR A WEEK EVERY MONTH!!!

xD; Rant over.

Well, I do get bad pains on the first day, but I don't fall over. o.o;

Yeah, the diagram in the book was depressing-
days 1-4- uterus lining breaks down
4-14 - it builds up
14-28 - stays stable
Day 1-4 - START OVER and OVER and OVER D'=

Men over a certain age are so stuffy about things like that!
I mean if they're fathers then they've obviously been going through it every month with their wives for years, i just can't understand why they STILL get embarrassed!

 men are silly!

My boyfriend buys my tampons. He use to be embarrassed by it but now he is comfortable with it.

I actually got my period this morning. Which is weird because its pretty early and last night I had a dream I was pregnant.

Josh is just fine about it. Heck, he even wants to have sex while im on my period, but it's just not comfortable for me. xD

But if I were to talk about it with my dad, I'm sure he'd clam up about it all.

I swear my boyfriend is more of a girl than me sometimes.
I have no fashion sense. Him: 'Neon orange and lavender DONT go together normally, hun.'
These sort of talks? I hate them. I end up doing the guys' 'I'm in an uncomfy conversation' dance and he just looks at me like 'is something wrong?'
He has to help me choose clothes.
Note to self--don't let him brush my hair.
He's tried to clean my room.
It's so frustrating! I'm the total girl when I get mad, freaking out, high pitched voice, blah blah, but he can actually put on make-up.
I can't.
He's done my hair.
I just brush it.
It's depressing, really, but I always end up the most uncomfortable one when it comes to talks over periods and shiz like that.
Weird, we are.
This, I know. XD

I thought it was funny as HELL, when I once had a big PMS fit, and my dad walked in. He was like, "What the HELL ARE YOU *^&*(%#$ DOING!?"

So I turned on him, and was like, "I feel like a little moster is clawing its way out from my uterus, and NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE!

He just grumbled and walked out of the room. I think he was even a little pale xD

My dad's like that too. He asked me how I was and I said I had cramps because it was that time of the month, and he just went out of my room with a little mumble xD

I'm not eve comfortable about period related things >.>; When I go out to buy tampons I end up buying random extra stuff just so I can cover up the box of tampons with the other items in hopes that no one will notice I'm carrying tampons...

I think that maybe it also depends on the person in question and the age of the female?

My dad discusses my birth control pills with me without even batting an eyelash any more. He wouldn't have done that a year ago, though. He would have left it to my mom to make arrangements and discuss with me.

Also, my roommate's dad has no compunctions about it at all. Very strange, since he won't listen to talk of boyfriends, but has no squeamishness about menstruation at all.

When she was in high school and on the way to a soccer game, she hopped out of the car and ran off towards the team to get going. He suddenly remembered "she might need extras", leaned out his window and shouted for the world to hear: "SAFFY! DO YOU NEED AN EXTRA PAD?" Both she and her mother had a long talk with him about when and where it was appropriate to ask such a question.

My brothers always act all "ewwww" when I mention it. XD

It's hilarious when my mom takes me to the store to get stuff for it and I tease them with the bag and wave it in their face.

I always tell them "Fear the pad" XD.

WnK: They should be glad that you don't use Glad Rags. Saffy and I almost to killed our other roommate over that.

She left them hanging on the towel rack in the bathroom one night because she didn't want her boyfriend to see them [she normally dries them on her music stand in her room].

My dad isn't like that at all...

my brother on the other hand is so grossed out by that stuff, that if you even say tampon he gets embarrassed and turns red, which is possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen.

xD! That made me laugh so hard! Can so relate.

I started babbling to my mother once how it felt like there was a claw trying to pull my guts out and so on.

I'm going on a bit of a tangent here, but have you noticed that older men also seem to be really uncomfortable about condoms?

Even my gynecologist is weird about it... when I started Depo-Provera shots, he was discussing backup birth control methods, and leaned in an whispered "Do you want some condoms?" even though I was the only person in the room. It struck me as so funny, considering he's been doing pelvic exams for me since I was 18. x3

About tampons, though... I was once walking down the side of the road with a friend of mine, and he asked for a piece of gum. So I reached into my bag and handed him a tampon.
When he realized what he was holding, he let out a loud yell and threw it into oncoming traffic.

Ya I don't think all guys have a problem with it... but a lot do. My boyfriend for example doesn't have issues with me talking about my period but he does have issues going to the store to get my tampons. However, I couldn't imagine talking to my dad or grandpa about my period.. I think I would get grossed out xP
