Steve: Parrots get very annoying D: I'm glad that I only have to see the parrot when I visit my aunt. Though, I dislike birds, so it could just be biased :3
Jelly: Aww :3 Snakes are so lovely. I'd love to be able to pet a python.

I have two dogs - a beagle and a cocker spaniel. I'll post some pictures of them later, if I can find any.

I would love if I could get my cockatiels to talk, or even whistle a certain song. I've always heard that the theme song to 'Andy Griffith' was an easy song for them to learn, but I can't whistle
I had this idea though..... I downloaded the theme song and made a CD of it, repeating over and over 80 times... lol. Must not have been such a good idea though, cause they still can't whistle it
@Jelly..... I would love to have a snake. We were thinking of getting one before we got the beardie, but once Dev realized he would have to feed it live food, he said no way. He said he didn't feel right feeding one live animal to another live animal... so we decided to get Abraxas. LOL, he eats crickets and mealworms, and things like that, but Dev says insects don't count as live animals.

@ Steve: thanks =D
@ Suteki: just hope you will never have to go through it :( i mean, animals die, just like people do. but putting animals down it's not just a matter of their death. the decision to do so is usually the hardest thing. it's just like my uncle said when i talked to him lately, he knows that it was probably the right thing to do, but he feels like he was responsible, so kinda like he killed his cat *sigh* it's very difficult, even though in most cases it's done to ease the animals' pain and suffering.
ok enough of this or am gonna cry ._.

Indeed, enough of that. No more sleep talking~
But my doggie was so funny today. I had a tooth pulled and the area was still bleeding a bit, and he kept whining because he thought that I was injured. It was so sweet x3

Lol XD
My Dog is too smart...
He found out how to get into the living room, after putting his paw through a hole in the cardboard, moving it to the side, and pushing the box forward. Now we have TWO boxes to block him out...

aww X3 cute!
i was thinking of having a dog when i finally move to halifax for good. my fiance loves the idea but we can't decide what breed to choose. he wanted either a yorkie (how corny is that when you're living in yorkshire? XD), the german shepherd dog or or the old english sheepdog, i preferred something like the scottish or west highland terrier. i mean, i'd love the old english sheepdog but we would have to wait with that till we get a bigger place cause they are quite big, the same goes to the german one. as for yorkies, they are cute but it's not the kind of dog i would like.
oh? maybe you guys could help me? like, do you know medium-sized breeds that are of nice.. erm.. personality? ^^; you know, the ones that are not aggressive and usually have no problems around children or other animals. please?

I know, it is really cute. Eventually while I was sitting on the couch watching TV, he climbed up and sat on me and waited for me to let him smell my mouth xD
And as far as your question goes, my mom says that Cocker Spaniels are very good as long as you pay attention to them, and that upkeep of them isn't too bad. She's had several Cockers and my grandma used to breed them, so I think that it might be accurate.

*waves* Hi! ^^ I'm new to Mene and was looking through the forums when I saw this great thread.
For the longest time I had a pet dog. Winston who was a beautiful golden red Chow/Dachsund mix. He looked like a little bear but with such a puppy face. He was born on Christmas Eve to a friend's family and I was able to take him home after weaning (He was a gift from my parents).
I had him for 18 years when I had to put him down due to his kidneys shutting down (caused by old age). He was such a good dog. He always would wag his tail and would love on me no matter what happened in my life.
Now I have a darling sable Burmese female named Tangah. Her original name was Tangle and she was a stray a friend fed outside her house. She had to move and couldn't take the animals with her, though she wanted to, so she started collecting and giving them homes so my mom and I adopted Tangle and renamed her Tangah to reflect her royal air. Her nickname, when she strikes her sphinx pose, is Empress Tang.
Sadly we don't know how old the little sweetheart is but we think she was just coming out of kittenhood when we took her in (considering she teethed on our furniture).
She is highly mischievous but loving. She even loved Winston, she lived with us two years before Winston passed, and would even sit behind him when he couldn't stand (he hurt his hip which slowed him down as he aged) to keep him propped up at his food dish.

Welcome to the thread, Kachi n_n
Your old dog reminds me a bit of a dog that my parents had for around 18 years, I think. She died when I was twelve of old age, but she was so nice when I grew up. Though she was more or less my sister's dog, as they would always be together.
And your cat sounds so adorable. I really wish that I could have a cat >w<

Yeah, I know.
And in her old age, her favorite activity was chasing goats and pigs xD She was a really sweet dog, but she's probably happy now.

Awww~<3 How cute. My old dog (her name was Rae, but we called her Rae-Rae) used to love our old cat, Duke. They would like, sunbathe together in our driveway and stuff. It was so cute.

Yeah, it was fun to watch. Though sometimes the bigger goats would chase her back >_>;; I don't think that she liked that.

I have two kitties. :D One is big and fat, but that is because his breed is large, and one is small and skinny (but not for lack of trying to be fat, she eats more than Titan XD). Titan is the big kitty, and he is my baby. :D Hera is the little kitty, and she is my dad's cat. Or, more accurately, my dad is her human XD.
Titan keeps shedding all over everything because it's hot and he is very furry D:. Plus he keeps throwing up hairballs all the time, to the point where my brother has started calling him anorexic.

Aw...a pet thread. How absolutely perfect. If I may, I'd like top tell a little about my pets. They're all lovely little rodents and each of them has a darling little name. <3
Gerbils
Kitten-He's a black and white spotted male. He's a touch overweight and is a father toa few baby gerbils I own.
Kitten, Jr.-One of his babies that looks just like him. He's as fast as lightning, too.
GiGi, Jr-A darling pitch black babe. She's a sweetie.
Tater Tot-A little dove grey gerbil. He's always burrowing and chewing.
Lala-She looks just like her Mother, Latte. She wishes to be just like her, too.
Latte-The mother of the babes listed. She's Kitten's mate.
Degus
Plugg-a-Bug-A very chubby degu. Plugg is crazy over raisins and loves to hide in pockets.
Dannflower(Stick)-She's the mother of Plugg. She's very quiet and laid back and just loves to ride on my shoulder.
Those are my babies and I cherish them more than anything. <3
