I don't really find it that hard to make gold here truth be told, but coming into a thread where someone is upset because they can't make gold saying that things are/should be community based, rather then gold based.

Well it just doesn't seem too nice is all.

The person who made the thread had some kind of concern, saying "well I think you shouldn't even be concerned" or anything of that nature... well. Just doesn't seem cool to me. That's why I got a bit fired up there.

The reason it's so much easier to make gold here, I think, is because of how each site gives away gold. While you will get gold for posting on Gaia, the amount of gold you get decreases quickly to almost nothing. On Mene, however, I've noticed that you get more or less gold depending on how long your posts are. therefore, there is no limit to how much gold a person can get on Mene, while there is a limit on Gaia.

Basically, it'd be a good idea to go on Gaia for alittle bit in the morning, then spend most of your time on Mene- that way you earn the most gold for both sites!

I'm new here as well, and I come from a land called Gaiaonline, were just by clicking post you earn 50 gold XD. of course, gaia has MUCH larger inflations, and the value of gold is a lot diffrent from here. Plus, gaia has thousands and thousands of items to choose from, so pricaes are always changing....

but I like it here. i like the whole, the more you type, the more gold you get idea. (cus lets face it, i write a LOT in my posts) people on gaia do not appriciate long posts. Menewsha is a lot funner! (Menewsha has better hair as well =D)

Hrmm

everyone just says post, and thats pretty much all you
can do for the mot part.

I mean if you are good at art, you can always try to sell it.

As for impulse buying, thats obviously not my thing lol.

I would rather just be naked than walk around in half
a tacky outfit. I know some people say somthing
is better than nothing, but I just feel it would look
even more tack. I want to save up for the things I want,
then buy them all together and put them on.

anyway good luck making gold.

It is rather hard.

squeee~~~!!!!

you just got to post. finding a thread where you can chat with others also helps. it's makes the time go faster and gold increase without you knowing it.

and i'm curbing my impulse buying.

I do indeed find Menewsha's gold system to be my favorite.

I've always felt that people who put alot of time and effort into their posts deserve a little something more, no? It's like being paid for art: the better/more you do, the more money you pull in.

Meh.
Then again, I've had no trouble wresting the maximum amount of gold from the Menewsha doughboy. :D Long posts forever!

It certainly is a challenge. But if you find some good people to chat with you can have a good back and fourth conversation that can earn you a hundred gold or more in a night xD

I myself like how the longer your post is, the more gold you get from it as I tend to explain myself quite a bit. Sure, it was a shock at first to not see my gold go up from just browsing or polls (I'm on Gaia as well) but that's okay. Not like, after the first two votes or so, you get much gold on Gaia from that anyways.

Anyways though, Gaia's system works for Gaia. Can you just imagine what would happen to their forums if the longer the message was the more gold people would get for their post? Just would be scary.

But here, it works as it does seem this is suppose to be a little more mature then Gaia's community and that they want people to actually discuss things more. (My opinion at least). I just hope the mods here will be able to keep up with enforcing the no spamming rule.

I keep posting posting and posting, but after awhile, it gets hard to right up a lenghty reply to people. I refuse to spend my gold until I get my first big item (well, big fo ME anyway). I need to have 800 gold to get the dress that I want. It's a good thing I'm really driven and stubborn, otherwise I would have spent all this gold AGES ago. I want that dress, dammit!

Yeah, I know what you mean. On Gaia, you get in trouble if you post really long messenges, and you better have a damn good excuse to back it up if you do. Remember those annoying 21 gold posts? I like this method better. Since the community is smaller, I guess it inspires literacy in the newer members. Sure, there's the occosional spam, but it always gets cleared up pretty quickly. :)

i dont really make long posts. at least not to me. but my gold still racks up quickly. if i work at it i can get over 300 gold from descender a day so gold isnt that hard to come by for me. so far ive played twice today. (i think) and ive been posting around a bit for the heck of it. i dont like when my threads dont move though. it kinda sucks because then i know that no one that i normally talk to is on and that just makes it weird becuase i have to venture out and meet new people. xD
im so anti social. >.> lol. no not really. but still.
menewsha nation isa good place to go to just chat with people. you dont really need a topic to chat about, just go in there and chat. it makes it pretty easy to gain gold and gain friends. its what i do most of the time. XD its all general discussion, and menewsha nation for me! periodically the exchange but only when im looking for items >.>

Duckyprincess, compared to most of Gaia, you have long posts.

Aixe, Gaia really wasn't bad at the start. I joined early 2004 which wasn't too long after it got created and back then Gaia's GD and even CB would have discussions that would actually get some good responses to. Not what it has now. Gold seemed easier to get back then too, though maybe it was for things were cheaper then (donation items would sell at 2k or so when they first came out rather then the 15k now).

I should probably stop here though as it seems I'm getting off topic >.>

It can seem like it I suppose but I've only been joined a few days and I think my gold is fairly healthy XD
When you think about it, when you finally get enough to buy something you really feel like you've worked for it and earned it ^_^

Yeah, I know it can be a tad difficult, but it all works out in the end. I'm fighting to keep enough gold to buy the skirt I want... but that's currently about 2k away, and minus will just tack on another 1k because I want the starry hairpins and the fishnets too. ^^;; Heh, yeah, I'm going to be questing for a while still before I get my first outfit. xD

I've found that by chatting with others on multiple topics at once, such as one at the exchange and another at the mene nation, my gold seems to add up pretty quickly.
One of the main things I love about menewsha is the challenge that gold earning presents.
It gives one a feeling of accomplishment when completing a quest for an expensive item.

it's better though, the prices are lower.
the insane ease with which you can earn gold on gaia leads to the ridiculous marketplace prices.

I'm 1/3rd of the way to buying my first item. :o

Not being a lurker is a little hard for me to get used to though, but I like playing Descender. It reminds me of that DS game, Elite Beat Agents.

Eh, the site just started out. I think, in time, there'll be much more ways to earn Gold, including more Games and whatnot. So far, posting isn't bad at all. All you have to do is find something to post about, and collect your thoughts. It also helps to find a thread in Menewsha Nation, or chat in a friend's quest thread or something like that. Sooner or later, you'll earn much more Gold.

  • Well just make lots or friends and kidnap them whenever you see them around the forums. That way you won't get bored making gold. ;D If you catch my drift. :B
    Errmm meaning making lots of conversations? oO;
