I've never posted here but here you guys go xD.

Picture here:
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56883116/

This is a picture of the lovely Marshu from deviantART dress as a Host from Ouran Host Club.

This is done in Painter8 at a fairly large resolution with out any reference for the pose. Also this is the first time I've ever done any perspective.

Now I would like some critique on the coloring and the hand reaching out, not that I'll change this picture but I'll use it for future drawings =3

(Please don't critique the hand in the pocket though, I got lazy on that one xD)

The first thing the caught my mind when I saw your pic was the coloring! Its different then alot of artists I've seen but I really like it!

That and the eye and face style adds for a another unique effect on your work! I like it~!

Oooh, very nice! I like your style of coloring, it's very different and cleanly done. I love the way you did the hair, too. It looks so... soft. :3

The only thing the bothers me a little is the hand that is reaching out. There isn't really any major problems with it - it just looks a little awkward. And this is just kind of personal preference, but I might have liked it more if the hand was a bit higher up, so it looked like he was outstretching his hand towards me. For doing things like that, try finding a reference picture or just looking at your arm in the mirror. I myself am still learning anatomy and perspective, so doing little things like that helps me a lot. But that's kind of up to you really, as it does look fine the way it is now.

And I was looking at your DeviantArt account, by the way, and noticed you had Kaori Yuki listed as your favorite artist. She's one of mine as well. I loved the artwork in her Angel Sanctuary series. ^_^

Oh yes I adore Kaori Yuki, very few things defy my love for her art.

I muchly prefer her Ludwig Kakumei, Count Cain, and Fairy Cube pieces.

Now back on topic, I see what you mean but making the hand higher but I chose to put it lower because I tried it higher but it looked to enthusiastic and I was going for more of a "Come if you wish" thing.

the hand does seem a bit weird..but i cant do any better~hehe

when you gave ur hand to someone{i assume that is what hes doing}~
u would probably put ur hand flat..hm...instead of the whole face of the hand facing the [email protected]@...i dunno if u understand me..................but...u dun see all the surface of the hand..

u get me?XP..im bad with explanations
{PS: maybe i m saying the same things as Aura..}

I adore the style but there is a few things that need to be worked on. I think the hair is a little to thick. Maybe thinner strains of hair will fit better. Also the thick line around the face does not work well. The rest of the image is light and then you have thick face line and thick hair. It just seems not to work well. Also lighten the hair a little to go with the color scheme. Sometimes to dark of a brown with a pale light colors tend to really lose the focus. Just like the navy jacket is light try lightening the brown.

Anyway I like it and good luck with your art style.
