Ah wow, that's awesome. And 99 dollars is a perfect fit for the wallet also, haha. xD There are far too many dresses out there that are far too expensive, and I never really understood why people go all-out for their weddings to begin with. Dx What colour is your dress? I'd kinda like to see a picture. xP
shaggy - The only reason I'm even thinking about a wedding is because my boyfriend and I will probably end up married in a year or so. I never thought about them before this, and frankly, I'm afraid of weddings. Dx

I don't want to get married. Some part of me just can't stand the thoughts of actually finding the Mr. Right to marry. Then there's the terrible aspect of planning the wedding, inviting the parents and to-be inlaws, paying for the wedding, having to deal with it if it happens to rain or if the bride's dress goes up in flames.
There's so many things that could go wrong about a wedding I dare not think about it.

Well, if God is willing, I'll become a Nun. So my wedding won't be an enormous ordeal, physically. At all. :D
But I'm still excited about it, none the less.
I used to want to get married and have children, yes... but yeah. Not anymore. I hope your wedding will be nice and sweet, and I really do hope and pray that your marriage will be one of those ones...
where, y'know, you see the two old people walking together in the park, holding hands.

I used to be quite into the idea of a traditional wedding, with a white dress, tons of people, walking down the isle, the whole bit. Recently though, I've been becoming increasingly hippied out in my wedding ideas.
A wedding ceremony is about the couple exchanging vows of fidelity and love, and for me, that's an incredibly personal thing; I don't know that I want anyone else involved in that. So, partner willing, I think I'd like to have a totally isolated, private exchange of vows, and later have an event for family and friends where we could sign the official documents.
For the private part, the vision I'm having is to spirit away deep into the redwood forest to a glade along a creek, in the middle of the night during a full moon. Exchange vows naked and barefoot. Maybe bring a picnic. Do whatever we want until dawn.
Then we could come back, (properly clothed again) and throw a big party. I don't have anything particular in mind for that part. Dancing is a must, and good food. A partly indoor, partly outdoor thing sounds nice. Maybe we could theme it on a novel we both loved. Oh, I know! There would have to be an open, group, freestyle mural setup somewhere, that the guests could paint on if they liked, and we'd keep it as a souvenir.

Oh wow! n_n
Well, I'd place my wedding in the Bahamas. Or Hawaii, I'd invite my parents and one close friend and my hubby's parents and one close friend. There would be lime green, pink, yellow, and white! Or maybe just white with pink. :] Well, I AM going to be a famous journalist by that time so gourmet food! Steak with seafood! And margarita. That will be the first time drinking. For dessert, I'll have cheesecake. Or maybe just cake. :] My wedding dress will be somewhat like this except I'm going to change the top. It doesn't go with the frillynes. xP

Since my faith is Pagan based I like to have a Pagan or Wiccan based religion that is set most likely on a lush green landscape with mountains and trees (does not matter the location) or maybe located in Rome, Italy (I am Italian so naturally I am drawn to there). I like the entire riding on a horse to my husband also on a horse. I like the mid-evil/ fantasy feel with flowers every where and dancing minstrels and the entire nine yards. I like the entire earthy feel too. I love to wear a simple white gown with corset or maybe not white but a nice earth color and my husband in armor (like a night). I like to do my own sayings and keep it slightly traditional to maybe a Neo Pagan or Wiccan based wedding (though I have to do my own research on the subject). I like to have a small wedding with close family and friends.
I am not totally sure what I truly want but this is a long the lines. I personally do not wan a Christian or Catholic wedding if I can help it. That is all ask for and it is a lot but I can't put myself through it if it is something I can't hundred percent believe in.

Hm...
Never really thought about it...
Well.
I'd be small, only really close friends and family.
I'd probably wear white because it's a nice color and traditional. But the wedding itself would have an unusual theme. [:
This, of course, is assuming I'll get married in the first place. ^_^;

I'm one of those girls who's never imagined wedding scenarios for myself, I've never just imagined a wedding at all I was always stuck in thinking of what to write next but never day dreamed of what I might be like when I'm older or whether I'd get married or not...
I still don't... I have no idea if I even plan to marry.. at the current stance I don't think I ever will.. If I stay with the boyfriend I have now well he doesn't believe in Marriage... but if another guy comes along.. hopefully the boy I know from California... Maybe, but I'm not sure..
I suppose if I ever get Married it'd be like all the other weddings I've been to Minus the western themed wedding since it was out in the country. One of my Great Uncle's friends were getting married and I went with my uncle.. that was actually very fun. A lot of line dancing... and fun hysterics.. but I'm sure I wouldn't have anything like that ... many of the people I know are city folk and well... I doubt I'd get a wedding as anything country like no matter if I planned it, it'd still end up like a city style wedding.

Uh... I have no prospects for marriage, likely won't for a few years. So I've never really thought about it. I'm not all that fussed about ceremonies. It seems rather silly to spend so much money for something that will take a half hour to an hour.
I like how my sister did things. She and my bro in law had their wedding in the backyard of a bed-and-breakfast place. They said their own vows, my bro in law cried some, we had only the closest family there (parents, siblings, and one favorite aunt on each side). We also had decent food.
But I dunno if I'd do that, necessarily.

I remember when I was little, I had these dreams of wearing one of those big poofy wedding dresses. XD
Then now -- my mom likes to ask me about marriage, even though I'm prolly 15 years away from it. XD
She goes, "So what would you like your wedding dress to be like?" And I think about it. ' those big poofy ones seem itchy. o wo'
And now I'd actually like a simple dress. A simple, pretty, white dress. XD Oooh~! With a long train. XD
I actually wouldn't like a big wedding ~ but then that's now. XD It may change when I get older. C: But I'm definately sure about the dress thing.

- I can be honest to say that I've never imagined a wedding day for myself.
Although, now that I think about it...
I'd like to get married in a big space, I'm terribly clausterphobic sometimes. Nothing too huge, I'm not a people person sometimes either. xD A cathedral would be nice. ._. Lots of flowers, preferrably.
I can see myself in a white dress, and a white dress only. Why? I'm a sucker for the old-fashioned, traditional things. :] Orange flowers are a must.<3 Erm... yes. Big elaborate table, white and orange cake with hints of silver. : D

I've never actually envisioned a wedding day for me. I have no intention to get married, so it seems a silly thing to imagine.
I don't know why, but I've really never, as long back as I can remember, been interested in marrying.
I'm not even interested in dating, so the marrying thing seems especially hard.

I don't know all the details of my wedding but there are a few must haves I have in mind. First, my dress will definately be designer...I'm thinking Vera Wang - I LOVE her wedding dresses. Secondly, it will be held in a very beautiful church, think european cathedral. The reception will probably be held outdoors by a lake or the ocean. I want roses and white lilies at the wedding. I'm a very firm believer in wedding tradition/superstitions. The bridesmaids will be wearing something elegant and in a very non-obtrusive color. The men will be in black tuxedos. Also, guests will not be allowed to attend my wedding if they are wearing black, red or white. This will go primarily for my family members as my husband-to-be's family is more likely not to break this traditional wedding rule.
For people who don't know what I'm talking about: wearing black means you are mourning the union, wearing white means you are trying to take attention away from the bride and wearing red means you are trying to seduce the groom. I won't tolerate it at my wedding - call me peculiar but it's my thing.
Let's see, what else. Oh, the cake will most likely be an almond and vanilla with traditional white frosting - probably 6 tiered and with roses and hearts decorating it in the frosting. <333

Huh, that's very interesting. I didn't know about that.
I'm not much into traditions for my own wedding, but I'll bear those in mind if I ever get invited to someone else's. :D

My first wedding {he's now my ex-husband} was at a military chapel at an Army base in Texas. I rented a stereotypical, long white wedding dress with long veil from a formal shop in San Antonio. The groom wore his dress greens. I carried a bouquet of red roses. None of out family was able to attend, but we had our Army friends there with us.
After the ceremony, we had the cab driver stop at a liquor store so we could pick up a bottle of champagne. We then went to the motel and ordered a pizza.
The marriage lasted only eleven months.
True story.

Ouch that's to bad u_u
My first marriage lasted 2 years but more like 1 year and 3 months since I left him during the 2nd year and it took a bit for the divorce to go through. It had been my idea for the divorce he was a real jerk with a bad temper.
I hope your next one will out shine your first if you find someone worth the effort.
Thanks everyone for your replies I've enjoyed reading them. I'm actually surprised at how most of your said you hadn't really planned yours or really thought about it much. n_n

I'd love to get married in the dark, in the snow.
Like, up North, under the Aurora at night.
*starry eyes*
Oh, that'd be the most perfect thing ever.
And if I do get married in the snow, I want a black dress.
I want a black dress anyway. >>;

Let's see...^^ I've been thinking about this a lot lately, since I've known I was going to marry my (now) fiance from about a month after we started dating (it's been two years now, we did take it slow even so, but I knew then it'd last.)
The colours are going to be green/blue/black, because black and red are his favourite colours, green and peach (not together) are mine, and it's going to be in the spring. xD Too many of the colour combinations wouldn't work (IE: red/green, peach/black, and peach/red would be fall colours) so I threw in blue to make sure there was a colour flowers came in and because it's spring-like.
My dress is going to be very light green. He's lucky I'm wearing a dress at all, as I hate dresses and wanted to go for a nice medieval-style outfit in pants and a vest and a cape and stuff, but he's still dodgy on the not-wearing-white, but I refuse. White was originally used to signify servitude, and it just doesn't feel appropriate. Besides, it's boring.
I want the ceremony to be as small as possible, but the guest count keeps going up because my fiance wants to invite every person he's ever made friends with.
As for the rest, our flower girls are going to be his god-daughter (and also second cousin) and her sister, and they're going to be in blue and green with little fairy wings....and the wedding's going to be outside, though we haven't decided exactly where just yet. I'm hoping for either a garden, or for outside the lodge at Amicalola falls, a park here in GA with one of the most beautiful waterfalls. I think they might let us take photos there even if we don't have the wedding near the waterfall (there are way too many restrictions to weddings held in the park area, it'd have to be outside the lodge area.)
Annnd I'm using fake flowers. Maybe kanzashi flowers, though I'm not sure how good those'll look big enough to be a bouquet. We're definitely doing kanzashi flowers for our hair (the bridesmaids, I mean), though.
It's still pretty far away (as we're not getting married til March 2009 because I have to graduate from college first) but I'm trying to start planning early so there's less stress later on. Though really, I'm not too mussed about it at all. It won't be perfect, something will go wrong, but I don't care. In the end we'll still be married and that's the important thing.

Dunno, I'll probably just wear white, or else a victorian dress :'D
I think I'll just keep my wedding in Holland (where I live) so people like friends
and family can still come. I won't invite people I don't realy have anything with,
like uncles or aunts that only pop up when something is happening ><

My wedding going to be small but it is going to be totally done up!
*Live band
*Dinner under a dinner-tent
*On the beach in Cuba
*At a resort somewhere
I only want close friends and family to attend, so that can be more privite. But, before there will be a wedding social and everyone can attend.
It needs to be perfect because you only get married once in your life time.

I never had a wedding when I got married... but my marriage day was me and my hubby, not dressed up at all... in the priest's living room... Luckily the priest counted as a witness... we were the only 3 there. Then we left, and went home. Fun, right? Every girl's fantasy, I'm sure.

Wedding day? What wedding day? D:
Heh...for now I don't support marriages. I think there's too much trouble with them. Ya know, all that planning, running around, going to the registry office and all that stuff...But I really like looking at wedding dresses and I guess I'll have to settle down someday...
Well, umm...I wouldn't like my wedding to be anything big, ya know? Just something relatively cameral. There's this stupid custom that wedding receptions have to be big, at least 50 people. I hate that. I mean, why do I have to invite my mother's aunt or cousin? They have no idea who I am, I have no idea who they are.
I'd like to get married somewhere nice. Like Scotland, for example. I like its landscapes...and bagpipes. And I'd like my reception to be really cameral, just the closest family and friends. As for the dress...I don't want it to be white. Beige would be nice, though...or black. :D And nothing too fancy...but some lace would be nice. And roses. Roses are a must. :3

Congratulations to you. :)
I always fantasized about being married to people, but not so much the ceremony itself. I guess it would have to be on a cool fall day, preferably in August, because I would hate it if it was so hot that everyone was all sweaty. And I would invite all of my current friends to it, I was thinking maybe it would be held somewhere in New York, not the city area but instead the country side. My cake would have to be big and have sprinkles, lots and lots of sprinkles. Plus there would be a nice forest near it so all of the animals could feel how happy and light hearted the mood was. I guess it would have to be in the morning so I don't trip on something not visible to me, that seems to happen a lot. :) Overall it would go off without a hitch, I hope
