Jennifer - Sorry, but you do have to have all gold when you are bidding. I don't allow people to bid when they don't have the gold on their main - if I let mules do that, it's going to get very confusing.
Windy - You may bid on a Valentine's Day item if you do not have it. You can't bid on another crown though, since they haven't opened upt to everybody.

Thanks, Zweres, for clarifying! That's what I thought the case was, I just wanted to be certain. :3

Does the auction end at 6:00 pm Zweres time or 6:00 Aeris time on Friday?
*just wondering*
I also forgot to place Rule 14 on my first bid...so I reposted with a new bid with the answer on it.
Sorry about that.

Good thing you caught that, Sir.Spoon. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to participate for that week!
It ends at 6:00 pm my time (PST)

...but I put it on my second post...is that ok? No one posted for the same item after my first post...
it's on my 675 bid after Minuxe's bid on the Bunny Hair Pin.
I hope it's ok.

Sorry if this is a stupid question and I'm just not understanding the rules right but I was wondering if I bid on a king's crown but it becomes more expensive than I'm able to pay for could I change what I'm bidding for to the Queen's crown in the same auction?

I'm not involved with running the auctions at all personally, but I'm pretty sure that you can switch, [ s u k i ~ s h i n e ].
I know that I've done that in the past.

Zweres, I'll go reread the rules, but was any sort of maximum bid amount placed? Cause seriously for someone to raise the amount over 1.5k with their first bid is lame especially when we are trying to keep these items from inflating in price.

I've always been a little afraid of those auctions O.o ... more than afraid I guess intimidated ::shrugs:: Now I see that there are only two V-Day Hairpins left T.T I would like some advice.
I joined like in 16 Mar 2007 last year (yay my Meneversary is coming up!) so I wasnt here for the Valentines Day Event. I havent been able to save enough for the items either (shopaholic) I was thinking should I sell a couple of CI and my frosbite gown to join the auction. Or do I have no chance what so ever in wining the darn pin? Should I go for it?

It's always worth a shot to go for it. You never know.
though I can't say that I am happy about the pin already being over 3k >.< It seems that again this week it has jumped too soon. *sigh*

I'm not bidding on it, but I was dismayed at the jump in the King's Crown's price, too. (900 to 2500!?) The hairpin seems to be going up fast, too, yeah.
See, what I don't get about bid wars this early in the week is--yeah, you WILL get rid of more potential buyers. So if that's what you're looking for, then great. But at the same time, you'll have to pay more at the end, and is it really worth it, when you could still get it then for cheaper? *doesn't understand people*

I was wondering about that too, Word. that's why I bid with the extra 50g just to make sure the one who bid before me didn't mistype (king's crown for hairpin)... but seems like it's not a mistype ^^;
I thought there is no sniping bid, so I try to bid at least once but could be wrong o_o

I agree with everyone that the hairpin and crown has jumped up too early on in the week. Even though I am only bidding on the bunny hairpin myself I have been watching all the other items. I don't know why people feel the need to raise their bid or put in an initial bid that is so much higher than the previous one. Since the items is a very popular one it is obvious that your high bid will be outbid and in the end you just make the item more expensive for everyone.
The name of the game is deflation xP

Thank you. I will have to stray from the King's Crown unfortunately. ;_;
It jumped to 3k and then someone else went right to 4k.
It's disappointing but what else can I expect out of an auction.

Actually you won't have too.The person who bidded twice already bidded once which you aren't supposed to do until Zweres validates you.^^

But does that knock the person completely out of the auction? If he is validated then he'll just bid that anyways.
Well, I guess I shouldn't worry about until I get my bid validated. I can't do anything until then anyways.

WHOA! Seriously? He broke that one? :shock: If you're that intent on getting it, I'd think that you'd pay more attention to the rules.
It would knock him out of the auctions for this week, yeah. So as long as no one else has bid over him, it'd drop back... *worries that someone else has already bid*

Really? I guess that's good...well, not for him but you know. There are several other people who intend on getting the crown this auction too though. I'm not going to obsess over anything though--there are plenty of crowns to go around. xD

Hi Zweres, <3 I noticed that when you updated the bids and added mine that you accidentally type an extra I in the name. Which would be fine except there really is another "Nephilia" and it could cause a mix up for whoever sends out the stuff if it went un-noticed.

Are the crowns ever going to open to everybody?
I checked the first post with the FAQ's and I didn't see a question like that.

Ok...so someone just bid against themself and it was 1.2k over their own bid...but we can only raise 1k. So are they banned, or is that bid void?

That sounds like a violation of the rules to me.
I did the stupid bid war for the Hairpin, and I regret it. I should have just waited until the last day. What I'm doing now is just bidding once a day just to see where it's at, and then I'm going to log on and watch the last hour and determine whether or not I have enough gold to win.

@Shadowfflur, that's definitely against the rules. ^^
The max you can bid up something is 1k, so you're right.
