Well I'm back....feeling a bit sleep-deprived so I'm going to lay down in a minute. Just wanted to leave you guys an update. So I got up at 7:10am to my alarms (yes multiple alarms) going off and the radio blaring Q102 at me. Then my friend Jon called to make sure I was awake. I got showered and dressed and headed out the door. I had intended to make the 8:30 or 8:45 train into the city but as usual when I got to the station all of the tiny lots were full. And they've made it so that if you park anywhere else you will get towed. So I'm busy looking for a spot when the last train leaves. Grrrr. Now I have to drive into the city. I hate driving in the city but now I have no choice. So I drive in....once again, no parking. I parked illegally on a street corner. I figure a $35 parking ticket is worth only having to walk half a block from the doctors afterward to my car. I go in, we get the shizz done and I leave.

Remarkably....it was not nearly as long or as painful as last time. :shock: In fact, I feel mild discomfort with only occasional bouts of stabbing pain. I was able to drive home without a problem. :P I am still going to baby myself though....so off I go to the bedroom with my cookies and a movie to watch. ^^;

Well I guess today is my day to tell a story... yes.. a horrible day...
Lets start off the story with them instituting a "No Smoking" Policy last Friday. Not bad right? Wrong!!
First off, I am a heavy smoker. Secondly, we can not smoke in the truck unless it is parked. We can't even smoke while operating the boom which is outside of the truck... Ok.. so that is annoying for someone like me. Oh, I am sure your thinking, "Well just stop somewhere every now and again and smoke." Easier said than done, first off, it is REALLY hard to find a place where you can park the big truck, secondly we work hard all day long. We don't have time to stop. We run for 10 hours straight and we still fall further behind each day. Oh, which also reminds me, we are also not allowed to eat while driving.. yeah, which means lunch is nearly impossible to have. We can drink in the truck, but only when stopped at a stop light..
Ok, so now you know the background things that aggravate me, but are typically something I can deal with. We also know that the temperature has been in the high 90s with a Heat index of over 105. We, now we start my morning.
Get to work, get assigned a truck, like the one I want to use. Yay!
Not so fast. When I get to the truck it is loaded with all kinds of random junk that I have to sort and offload into different containers in the yard depending on what it is.. :( So.. kinda upset, but no big deal. Then no MetroKey in the truck. A MetroKey for those that dont know is a $35 book that has all the streets in the parish, and they have grid numbers so you can look them up. VERY necessary to my job. So I ask about one and they dont have any :evil: Very upset now, but still managing. I get a list called a "HOT Sheet" this is stuff that HAS to be picked up today or we get fined. Go out and get the ones I know where they are, because I know some of the streets on my list. Fill up and go to the Compost Yard. Have to unload it with the boom because the doors are pinched closed.. frustrating, but not that bad. So I start to leave the compost yard when my truck decides to have a nervous break down, it will not accelerate past 15 mph.. luckily the Work Yard isnt that far so I go back there and pull it into the shop.
Takes them 1 hour and 25 minutes to fix the problem.. Ok.. not bad.. I still have time to get stuff done.
So I go out to finish up my stuff, they finally found a MetroKey for me when I was back in the Yard. Now I look at my sheet and start figuring out how to get all my stuff done when I realize I will be running to the four different corners of the city... THROUGH LUNCH TRAFFIC!! :twisted:
Right so now I am just aggravated all to hell, but I have a job to do.. I go out to the first stop and say to hell with the no smoking policy because.. yeah.. today sucks and I don't care if I get written up. Get that one done and go to the second corner and that fills up my truck. So I go back to the compost yard to dump. I have the door un-pinched so I will be able to dump and not have to offload it. Yay!! Wrong again. I go to lift the boom up in the air so I can raise the bed to dump and BAM a freaking hydraulic lines busts!! Which means I cant lift it to dump. It's almost 2pm, but the Work Yard is close. If the mechanics can hurry and replace the line I can go dump and grab my last two piles, I wont make it to dump, but thats fine because I can do it in the morning.
So, I pull up into the yard heading for the mechanic shop and there are Trucks in line for the mechanics, no way I am getting my line replaced. So I go to my supervisor, tell him there are two stops I cant get because my truck went down twice today. He tells me to get in touch with the other 2 drivers and have them grab them. So I call them and one of them is working on another hot sheet and still has 4-5 stops left, and like I said its 2pm we get off at 3pm, so he cant do it. So I call the other one, he just filled his truck and is on his way to the landfill which is 30 minutes away, he cant get to it either. So I get back on the radio with my supervisor and let him know what is going on and he gets mad at me like its my fault the damn truck kept breaking down and I couldn't get the shit done. So now tomorrow I get to start my day with todays leftovers and him being pissed.

That sucks....yeah bosses are tough. How would they know if you're smoking? I mean.....they're not there. Or will your co-worker tell on you? :roll:

I dont have any co-workers really. I work alone on my truck, but the supervisors ride around in little white pickup trucks all day spying on us.

Boooooo on spying. Except on The Company. That show is new and addictive. :lol: Is it bad I already know all the CIA lingo? :P

Yeah I'm feeling 10 times better this time than I did the last time they did this. It also didn't take as long....I love having a doctor who knows what she is doing. She had a neat trick for when they took the biopsies, she had me cough and while I was coughing they would take it real quick. The coughing makes your body move in such a way that certain areas tense and others don't, so I barely felt it the first time, the second time I did feel it but it wasn't as bad as it could have been (I didn't cough that hard) and then the third time I coughed real hard and I felt it but it didn't really hurt.

So all seems to be well and good and all I can do now is wait to get the results back. They're going to call me with it either way and then we decide what to do next. <3

Even if the news is negative, they are going to put me under for the next surgery so at least I won't be feeling that one at all lol

Well that is good. I hope everything turns out ok. :D
I feel a little better now that I have eaten, but first thing I did when I left work (30 minutes early) was turn off my radio before one of those ass-munches decided to contact me. I don't want to talk to any of them right now.

I think before the end of the month I am going to setup a visit to the chiropractor to see if they can do something for my back because it hurts.

Eating is good, I just ate too. I had a ham and cheese sandwich with yellow mustard, cut up a dill pickle and pulled out one of my mixed fruit cups with the cherries out of the fridge. Ginger Ale too. :P

I had two lunch meat sandwiches and a can of coke.

I am starting to calm down.. I just was in a very bad mood today with all the crap that happened at work.

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that when I first left the Yard without a Metro Key, I called my mom to go get one for me from the bookstore. Yeah.. $35 I didnt need to spend. :(

And then my truck broke by the time she got it and so they had found one for me and I was like. They found one so I dont need you to bring it to me anymore. She wasnt happy.

It was just a bad day!

Think I might truly get to bed early.. laid down and closed my eyes for a while, but I am still tired and I think I could use the extra sleep. So I guess I shall see ye all tomorrow.

Sorry Daarian - I definately slept from like 4-8pm :shock: The pain is getting a little worse everytime the advil wears off so I guess my brain decided sleep was a good idea. Helps repairs stuff in the body, ya know? I'm awake now but I guess I missed you. Sowwies. :(

No... she's griping about that English project that involves community Service and talking about how I am going to fail the 12th grade and shit over that... She's telling me to change my schedule but they wont let me yet. >.<

I thought of something for your community service project.....you like to sing. Why not go to like local nursing homes and volunteer to sing for the old people? They LOVE that stuff and the staff will be really glad to have you come. <3
