Dont freak out to much, it doesn't hurt that much, if you've had your teeth pulled before, and it hurt, maybe you have sensitive teeth? Or try a lady dentist because they seem to be more careful. That's what I did. My dentist is a lady and my orthadontist is a guy. I have to have some of my teeth pulled as well but the dentist pulled them for me instead of the orthadontist because I dont want to be rude, but she's more gentil with it so it doesn't hurt really. :]

But anyways, try not to worry to much and just make sure you take tilonol or advil before hand so it wont bother you as much.

I have braces right now and just to let you know, it doesn't hurt to get them on, the only bad thing about getting braces is when you have to sit there with your mouth open for like half an hour to let the cement dry. And it tastes/smells bad, but at least your wont have to do it again after that. ^^

  • Just wisdom teeth, that's all. Had to have surgery on my jaw when I was younger. Cause my parents never took me to the dentist when I was younger; so my mouth was really crowded. Had to raise $8k by myself to pay for the surgery. It was worth it though; cause now I enjoy smiling. : DDD

I've never actually had any pulled except for my wisdom teeth which I just got removed yesterday. I was under anaesthesia though so I wasn't lucid. They hurt like heck right now.

However, I am a dental assistant and can assure you that it won't be that bad. They will numb you up so you won't feel anything. Take lots of deep breaths while they are doing it, even though you shouldn't know when they are due to the novacaine.

Good luck :D

@Eroy - I was lucky and only had three wisdom teeth so only half of my face is really swollen. Right now, I'm on Hydrocodone so I'm practically knocked out. 8)

Hmm. I have only two thooth pulled (and I think that's enough XD), one when I was a little child, and second about two or three years ago. Both were those thooth that have to fall out (people often say that fifths don't fall out, but it isn't true for everyone).
I remember that first time I was really frightened and close to don't go for this pulling. Dentist said that it won't hurt so finally I went. But it did. Second time fortunately it didn't hurt, I remember mainly that later I couldn't say anything for about half an hour or a little bit more, because I didn't feel my mouth XD

 10 teeth pulled? That must hurt a lot...

I have never had any teeth pulled before, thankfully. Later on, I might have to have my wisdom teeth pulled, though.

They only had to pull two of my teeth, when I was getting braces. The main issue was that the tooth underneath one of the baby teeth refused to come up on its own, so they had to attach wires and brackets to it under my gums, in order to pull it up to its position. I'm one of the lucky people who doesn't have wisdom teeth at all, so I'm done getting teeth pulled. *crosses fingers*

I had four pulled before I got my braces. I didn't hurt, but I drooled a lot untill the numness went away. The blood tasted horrible... Anyways, if you put a teabag in your mouth where the teeth were pulled instead of using gauze, the bleeding will go down faster. (And personally, I think they taste better than gauze, too!)

  • I've had two baby teeth removed, and four permanent ones, they weren't my wisdom teeth (I'm probably going to get those out x_x) my mouth was just too small to keep them there.

  • Eh I've had a lot of teeth pulled out. Mostly baby teeth. I don't know how many adult teeth I've had pulled out -- maybe just four.

Anyway, yeah, my mom keeps them in this drawstring pouch. "Childhood memories" she says and I wanted to keep them anyway. The last time I had my teeth pulled out (the aforementioned four adult teeth) I was freaking out because I had braces and I didn't really want to get my teeth pulled out at ALL so I kept freaking out that people would notice. Well, when braces went byebye, you can't really tell that those teeth were gone but I still miss them being there. But I always get pizza afterwards later that day. Preferably Papa John's. Not a good idea, I know, but I didn't have access to ice cream since I was staying home. I phone ordered pizza and with the pain in my mouth, as well as the gauze, that was HELL.

My wisdom teeth are still growing out so they have yet to be pulled. They're not quite out there yet.

I've never had it done, but my Sister's fiance's brother did. He had to buy a $30 Squirt bottle that he had to use to clean out the holes where the teeth used to be. It was so funny because that same weekend we all went camping, and he kept squirting us with it while we were sitting around the campfire.. I hit him with a stick, so its all good. 8)

I've never gotten my teeth pulled, but the mention of loosing teeth just to get braces makes me never want to get them. O_o

Wow, you've had a lot of teeth pulled!

I had a wisdom tooth pulled a long time ago, and next winter sometime I have to get another pulled. Apparently there are too many in my mouth, and it's interfering with my braces.
(but my braces come off next week 8) )

I'm going to have to get my wisdom teeth cut out soon. I'm almost 18, and they try and do it early before any of them start peaking through. They've already said they'd grow inward towards my tongue which would make me bite my tongue every time I chewed (owww?). So, yeah, I'm gonna have to get them CUT OUT soon. D:

I'm afraid to go under the knife. And, yeah, that's pretty much what it is. I will tell them to knock me out and put me under -- I don't want to be awake and just happy while they're cutting my mouth open. UGH.
