I'm working on getting a license, too...at nineteen years old. ><*

Driving really isn't that bad. Whenever I get nerveous at tailgaters or troubling situations I keep thinking that they were new drivers once, too. Freaking out makes you more prone to wreck, so just relax and think good thoughts as you drive.

I gave up on getting my license. I also panic when I see a car approaching, and actually drove the car straight off the road once because I was so scared of crashing  I can't use the different gears at all, and I also confuse the break and the gas  To make it even worse I can figure out if I'm on the right place on the road, or too far to one side  So I've pretty much given up on ever learning how to drive (and I can't afford a car anyway so what's the point ).

I love driving <3

The key thing to remember is just to relax, put music on that you like or something that will calm your nerves...

Its better if you go to a grave yard and practice for a while, or a church parking lot...granted theres differences but its just to give you the reassurance to make you level headed <3

I've had my license for 7 years and have only had two minor incidents when I was sixteen, where I bumped a parked car... and eighteen where some asshole swerved to catch the light and the person in front of me slammed on his brakes but i was looking over to get into the next lane and hit his rear driver side light..the only damage was the lights broke on both cars and he didn't call the police...

I'm 13 so I don't have experience driving a car.

With my bike however, I always seem to hit every car/tree/curb/small child that is near me.

When I first started driving, I was scared as hell, so I know how you feel.

Advice? Definately practice.

Try going to a parking lot where there aren't many cars with one of your parents or an adult you trust to sit in the passenger seat and give you advice and encouragement.

After you drive around in the parking lot for a while, you may calm down some and be more sure of your driving abilities.

Just try to relax and go slowly at first; don't start backing up until you have mastered the going forward.

What do you think of driving a car?
It's extremely easy and fun. I enjoy driving on a daily basis.
What are your experiences?
I hit a car turning into a lane. You have to remember to check your blind spots and the areas around the car, which means that you can never just rely on your mirrors. Turn around for a quick glance for best results else you get a huge dent in your car ^^;;
Have anything to calm me down?
Nope. In fact, you'll become a better driver out of fear than you would without it. I say, stay afraid and be aware =D

What do I think of driving a car?

Utterly terrifying and fantastic at the same time.
:D
Mostly, it is terrifying because of the profuse amount of SUV's in this suburbia fairyland I live in...so in my little four-door sedan I'm looking at everyone else's grilles. o_o That's scary.

But then I get out on the Interstate and it's great. :) Mostly by myself, my car, and the road. Some music, too.
Sometimes a friend.
It's great.

What are My experiences?

Oh, I've had some bad ones. Lemme tell you.
I ran a stone-cold red light once and didn't even realize it. I thought my dad was going to have a coronary.
I almost hit a parked car and had no idea.
Mostly I mess up when I'm not paying attention to driving.

Have I anything to calm you down?

No.
It's intense.
Let it be.
I will tell you that the number one thing is that you have to drive your car, not the people around you. o-o
If you are driving because of the people around you, you need to slow down and see what's up.
Usually when I wind up just 'trying to keep up with the pack,' I find myself 10 over the speed limit and all over the place, distracted.
Bad news.

I learned to drive in my grandpa's 1995 Mercury Sable. :D I love that darn thing. It's right between a nimble little car and a boat. Right where I like it. ;) I don't like driving mini vans and stuff, because there is just too much body to pay attention to and keep track of, and I don't like driving sporty cars because...they handle too well. o-o I over-drive them.

i've never driven before...=( im only 17 and my parents wont let me drive. they wont even teach me!! D<
I really wanna drive though.
Um I suppose you ought to practice driving in arcades first. Try to avoid the obstacles or whatever =P
When your good at that, go back to driving lessons. And...RELAX!! gosh. Breathe in and out. okay? okay. xP

I just got my permit on Monday, but I've driven like 12 times. It's really scary the first few times, everyone feels that way! My recommendation about the gas and brake thing is keep your foot in one place but just turn your foot on the heel. That's what I do. Other than that just be careful and stay safe!

What do you think of driving a car?
It's easy actually.
Some people are just natural when it comes to this, others just suck. x3

What are your experiences?
We'll I'm in the process of getting my license, you know, that whole 4 month waiting thing. Dx
I'm a really good driver, I don't freak out about anything unless it's a huge Semi who is turning near me and towards me.
You never know if it's gonna hit you! ;-;

Have anything to calm me down?
Umm....stop sucking. lol
I read your conversation with another person about how your gay and can't see your child and damn.
I wouldn't want to get you mad.
Kinda a bit bastard-ish. x3
A bit of a temper on ya huh? x3

I love driving. Although when my dad taught me how to it was still scary as hell. Now I can't immagine what it would be like without a car. So much freedom, and its kickassery to speed. That's the first thing we did, he told me to floor it to see if I could handle a car. After that it was smooth sailling. You'll get used to it and after a while you wont even remember when you weren't driving.

IMAGINE THIS

YOU ARE IN A CAR

IT IS A JAGUAR

THOUGH NOT A NEW ONE, AS YOUR FATHER'S TRAGIC CD OF CAR SONGS SUGGESTS

OHNO, IT IS A USED ONE

BECAUSE OF THIS JAGUARITY, YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOORS

THEY ARE LOCKED

YOU ARE TRAPPED

IN A CAR

WITH A BALD MAN

SINGING ALONG TUNELESSLY

TO GADGEY WEE SONGS ABOUT CARS

STICK THAT IN YIR PIPE AND SMOKE IT, JOURNEYS IN CARS THAT TAKE MORE THAN TWO HOURS DO NOT MERIT EXISTENCE

I'm 13, so I can't drive.

I can't wait, though. I've driven a car once or twice (yes I can reach everything-I'm 5'5") and it was fun. Even if I only drove a tiny bit, from the driveway to the garage.

I like driving. <3 Especially when gas prices are down. lol
I just got in an accident on friday. I was driving past a parking lot when this guy just pulls out and I t-bone him. He got himself a ticket~
Now I don't have my carrr. And my mom said that she was just about to put my car up for sale and buy me the escape she has been promising me. DX No fairrrrr.
Now I have to share my sister's car(the one that she just got back from the shop(she, too, was in an accident, but it was a month or so ago)).
