Sorry if there is already a topic like this. D: It seems different then the others, I guess. x3

My birthday is July 31, I'll be turning 17. WoO! I don't know what I'll be getting but hopefully it'll be something neato. <3
The sad thing is, I have to get surgery the next day.
See, my left hand has a Ganglion cyst in it, it hurts every day. I can't even put any pressure on it what so ever, it would of been great to have in P.E. class, no push-ups for me. ;D
But a-ways, I don't know what time I'll be going in to see the doctor but all I know is that it's gonna suck after that.

So has anyone had this happen to them before?
Surgery before or after a special event?

Discuss!

Omg, that sucks. Take it easy and perhaps people around you will pamper you more because it's near your birthday? I can't remember if my eye surgery was around a birthday or not; I do know that I had my wisdom teeth and jaw bone shaved down (in order to get to the wisdom teeth) in the same month as my birthday - only a few weeks later.

That's terrible. I don't know what Ganglion cyst is though but it sounds bad. D: Well, I hope the sugery goes well and wish you an early happy birthday.

Hopefully!
My parents better not make me do the dishes after words, not for at least 3 weeks. x3
Ugh, I'm going to have my wisdom teeth pulled out sometime, but not for a few years or so. lol

A ganglion cyst is a tumor or swelling on top of a joint or the covering of a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone).
lol
Good ol' google.
It's not so bad but it keeps you from picking up heavy things and putting weight on it.
Dx
Thank you. ^-^

I've been wanting this surgery for a while now, I've had to deal with this pain for 4 years now. And we're finally gonna be doing something about it. =/

Wow, that must suck. I have never had surgery before, so I don't know what it's like, but it can't be pleasant, especially right after your birthday.

The only somewhat similar thing that has happened to me before is that I got my first period a couple days before my twelfth birthday, so I still had it by the time it was my birthday. Of course, I was too embarrassed to tell anyone about it, but still... it sucked.

Gosh, that sounds awful.
Here's to a happy brithday and a quick recovery for you! <3
I hope everything will go well. It's very bad luck with the date but it's good something's being done about your hand so it can get well again.

I haven't really had anything bad on my birthdays (expect I always had math tests on that day before) but I had a tooth yanked out in order to fit om bracers on the day we third years were supposed to have a ceremony in school. Or rather... it's a five minute ceremony and then everyone goes out with their student hats (? a sign of graduationg high schoolers) and party away. I missed it because I sat at home, nursing my teeth.

Ugh, that would suck.
I think back then, I would freak out.
I would also be too embarrassed to tell my mom about it, I'll probably just stay in my room with tons of toilet paper in my undies. lol
Or even a towel. ._.''

Haha, yeah, I didn't tell my mom about it, and she didn't know that I had started my period until a few months later, when she found some pads in my trash can.

Luckily, I was able to go into my mom's bathroom and take some of her pads when it started, so I didn't need to say anything.

Yeah, I actually requested that day too. lol
I said "I don't care when I get my surgery, hell, right after my birthday would work, I just need this surgery! ;-;"

You didn't miss much for the graduating ceremony.
All of them are kinda the same. lol
I'm sorry about your toofer. D:

  • I know you're pain - I have numerous eye problems that all need medical attention too. I've never heard a great deal about what you have - but I hope you can recover. : ] At least you wouldn't have dishes to wash or anything like that

We'll I hope not!
If they even try to make me do the dishes, I'll just refuse and tell them that they're horrible for even thinking that I would do it. D<
lol

Aww, I hope there won't be any more eyeball troubles for you. ;-;

` Nitemare: Really? But still, it's not too fun either. At least it's not on your birthday.
Hehe, I suppose most graduation ceremonies are. I'm glad I managed to attend the real last one.
Best of luck to you! <3

  • Oh wow. :( That's an awful birthday present. I just hope everything turns out well. <3

I've never been under the knife personally, so I can't really comfort you. But I know that must really suck.

At least on the brightside you could think of it as a good thing, because after all the healing your hand will feel better. :)

We'll I'd hope it wouldn't be the present. D:
All I ever asked for is Oil Paints. Dx
My boyfriend and my best friend are getting me something, so I guess even if it was a present from my parents, I wouldn't really care so much. D:

I want to feel blacked out.
I hate feeling any kind of pain when I know I'm not suppose to.
(Dentist. =/)

I just heard that everyone (my family) will be going to Seattle on the 8th-10th.
So hopefully I'll be feeling better.
If not, I'd be pissed. =/

I love Seattle. ;-;
