Speaking of Americans getting more annoying (by being dumb), I just heard this in class:

Guy: So I'm taking English, German, and Spanish.
Girl: So?
Guy: So soon I'll be trilingual!
Girl: What's that mean?
Guy: You know three languages.
Girl: Oh. Why's it called that?
Guy: Tri means three, and lingual is language, basically.
Girl: Oh. That's stupid.
Guy: It's not stupid, it's just the way it is.
Girl: Um, hello. It's stupid. Just like how you think that I dress slutty.
Guy: -.- Whatever.
Girl: Told you so.

Now, keep in mind this girl is wearing a strapless shirt (violating the dress code) that goes just below her chest (also violating the dress code), and a skirt that's showing her ass (violating the dress code AGAIN). Her skirt is, AT MOST, 6 inches long. -.- And unfortunately, I meant that quite literally. -.-

And now she's discussing how she does 'it' three times a week, and met 'the guy of her dreams' who she'll marry at seventeen, then cheat on. And yes, she DID say, "I think I'm going to cheat on him though. I want to know what that's like."

and wow. air head much? thats crazy. i thought everyone had to learn root words (philo, tri, bi, those are the only ones coming to my mind right now) in high school. like 9th grade. though, i remember learning a lot of them in 6th as well... but wow. thats amazing... this is why i'm not a fan of the 'no child left behind' rule. some children should be left behind until what they need to know is beaten into them. i went to high school in California. and they implimented the 'California high school exit exam' the first year i was there. I passed no problem. they were saying that everyone had to pass to graduate. they still haven't made that a standard yet, because not enough people are passing. it was middle school stuff! i don't see how people couldn't be passing it!

And yeah, some kids should be left behind. e_e I don't mean to sound cruel or anything, but the people who don't give a SH*T about their education shouldn't be given all the great chances, when some who do care aren't given nearly as much.

exactly. if they dont care to learn why promote them? perhaps once theyre 17 and in a class full of 13 year olds they will see where they made their mistake. they will look foolish not only to themselves but to everyone else in the class and hopefully something like that will set them straight. because, school is no fun when the people you have had classes with forever move on to a new school adn youre still left behind... or graduate and you cant because you goofed off all the time.
i think there should be consequences for the actions people take. once they get out into the real world they wont be given promotions for nothing they will have to earn them. i think its a good lesson to start teaching children when they are young. if you want to get ahead in life, work for it.

so not everything sucks. though id be happier if i could play wow...
