I could give a person a free drink for a week who came into the resturant I used to managed and not notice a hit on inventory.
So, when you take into consideration how many people pay for the drinks, how many people don't get the drinks or just get water and the different kinds that are available, it really doesn't cost much for the company to give out free refills. I know we didn't charge, and we gave our employees all the free drinks they wanted and I never lost of pop syrup.
And actually, I really don't know many places here in my town that make you pay for a refill. Hell even when I go to the movies they give you one free refill, after that you have to pay, but really who goes to get lots of refills. (Then again what are you paying for a that drink, $6) ><'
But yeah, I totally will take a ton of those mints from Burger King if I ever eat there, I love those so much.
I guess it's the idea if it's out there, people will take it. Like put a chair out in your lawn that says free, if no one wants it no one will take it. Put it out there with a price sign on it...someone's going to steal it.
