Kane sighed heavily as Chidori jerked him around again and again..
"Great." He said happily...it all fake.
"I can drown my self in the pool."
He just wanted the day to be over....and he felt a pang of sadness as he watched Risa's face....it was too pretty to be sad...why was she like this...he glared at the leech on his arm...oh...that's why.

::I sat on the poolside on a beach chair, the pool was outside. i sketched whatever I saw. Fellow students, the pool, chairs- anything to get her mind off him. I then saw the two of them walk in together, arm-in-arm and sighed and thought "well, I guess she was right..." i rolled my eyes and kept sketching.
The teacher came in, in shorts and a t-shirt and blew the whistle for everyone to quiet down "alll right everyone, today were going to be timing one another, everyone, pair up with someone to time and they time you. We'll get started in 10 minutes, make sure you all change into your proper suits, and go!"
Chidori let go of his arm and looks at him admiringly "I havta go change, Ill be right back ,and Ill be your timing buddy!!" she laughed and scurried off to the girls locker room to change.::

Kane looked aboslutely miserable. As soon as Chidori left he looked around for someone...anyone that wasn't her...but it seemed as though everyone else had a partner. He slid down beside the water gazing across it's glassy surface. He saw Risa, but couldn't bring himself to make eye contact...he supposed he'd given her enough grief for the day....and his own hell was only beginning.

::The teacher walked up to Kane "hey, kid, get ready. We've got alot to do today."
he then walked off and saw me sketching and praised me. I smiled at him warmly "why thank you. Its only a hobby." He laughed and said "well, since you cant participate, wanna fetch the stop watches for me out of the pool house?"
I nodded, always happy to help a teacher "sure!" i put my sketchbook down- i just finished a nice sketch of Chidori and Kane.
I head over to the empty pool house and open the door slowly- it was empty and dark. I went in and the light didnt work, of course. I sighed and looked around the best I could for the box he described to me.

Chidori came romping out, her breasts barely covered by her tiny bathing suit and sat on a chair "whew..." it was warm for a September day and she looked around for Kane, but didnt see him::

Whatever his stars were he thanked them all...one by one. He had watched Risa make her way to the poolhouse and head inside, being the sneaky ninja he was, he circled around and followed her inside, closing the door behind him.
"Risa...." He called quietly.
"Risa, where are you?"

::I stayed quiet, having finally found the box I held it in my arms. I tried not to make a sound. I closed my eyes, and tried not to think about him.

Chidori was getting impatient and tapped her foot outside "hmm, where IS he...." she swooshed her hair over her shoulder and crossed her legs. Kisa sat down beside her, not as busty as every other girl, but they suited her just fine. "Hey, I herd about you and Kane, great job! Congrats!"::

"Risa....." His voice was small and quiet as he flopped near a rack of gear, leaning his back against the wall.
"Look...I know she told you...but I didn't kiss her because I like her...I had to know....she.....there's nothing there. She can't make me blush like you can...she's....she's all bust and no substance....I've tried everything I can do to get her off me..but.......For Pete's SAKE RISA!!" He hissed in the dark.
"Not even my Seizure act scared her off!!!.....will you at least say something....please?"

::I sighed "can you even imagine how I am feeling right now Kane? Hurt, betrayed....youre just like everyone else... toying with me like i'm some kind of twit...an object for your amusement.... I may not be a pure human, but I do have a heart... and now... i feel it is empty. I..." I paused, feeling I said to much. It grew silent again, the sounds of our classmates grew louder as they all gathered::

His heart sank...no...he couldn't even imagine what it was like for Risa right now. He listened for her breathing and silently headed in that direction. He smiled weakly as he saw the sheen of Risa's wings under her clothes and he stepped to her, giving her plenty of space.
"Risa...hear me out....or at least wait to drown me after I've spoke my peace. To me, you've always been Human...whether you have wings or not...you're always caring and you worry about me even when I don't deserve it...like now....I just want to know how to make things up to you....I'll do anything you ask of me....I know you told me to stop saying it..but 'if you order it...so it shall be'."

::the teacher yelled outside "RISSAAA DID YOU FIND THOSE WATCHES YET??"
My voice was soft and distant "i have to go, please, excuse me. Mr. Aeka needs me..." there was only one way out of this cluttered pool house and Kane was in the way.
"Ill oder you something Kane- be happy. Thats all I want for you. Be genuinely happy... and leave me be. I feel miserable as it is alone, but having someone like you around... used to make my heart flutter... now it just sinks...so..... go... Chidori is waiting for you..."
Mr Aeaka yelled on "RISA!!!"
"i sighed "Kane..please... step aside."::

He was red in the dark...and he smiled...she had unwittingly sealed her fate.
"Fine, you want me to be happy then..." He pushed her lightly against the closest shelving unit and cupped her chin in his hands.
"Being beside you is the only thing that will make me happy." He lowered his face and gently brushed his mouth against hers. He pulled away quickly, leaving a small trail of happy tears on her cheek as he snuck out, then he raced to the locker room and changed before heading back .
"Sorry coach." He called.
"Got hung up with my locker combonation...heh...eh...heh...." He felt naked...that was all he needed...to be red-faced...cold..and practically naked in front of Risa.

::I was in shock "did he really mean it?" I could never tell anymore and i rushed out into the sunlight.
"Sorry Mr. Aeka, I had trouble finding it, it IS pretty dark in there and cluttered and the light bulb is broken..." I sigh, handing him the box.
He smiled "thats alright, hand them out please."
I scoffed and handed one by one. I gave one to Kane, not looking into his face- i didnt know what to think, or do, or how to react. The pain from this morning still burned in my mind... I didnt think a kiss or empty promises could help this... I just didnt know what to do.
Chidori flew to his side "yayy! youre all ready! you look so cute, Kane!!" she gripped his arm.
I smirked slightly, remembering what I had seen this morning and thought to myself "she has no idea...." i finished handing out the watches and sat down. He did look pretty handsome in the speedo's the boys were forced to wear. His thigh was healing nicely and I was glad for that. If he hadn't shown it to me that day in the classroom, it most likely have been infected by now.::

Kane looked away as he took his stopwatch...and thought about diving in when Chidori found him.
"Aww...thanks Chi....but I hate to tell you....yours makes you look fat." He was getting sick and tired of her attention and was just about to do anything, short of punching her in the face to get rid of her. If Risa was to believe him, he had to prove himself.

::Chidori laughed,"Well then ill just have to cut down on the snacks, wont I" she smiled and clutched his arm tighter.
I began sketching again. I yawned, and started to sketch Kane in his bathing suit wihout even realizing it.
"ALLRIGHT, ladies first, so on your marks everyone!"
Chidori lined herself up to the side of the pool to dive in. Putting her goggels on, she crouched down Every boy in the class stared her and dreamed. Aeka blew the whistle and everyone dove in.

Kane watched Chidori jump in and made a slight motion as though to backhand the back of her head....he was beginning to reconsider his stand on hitting girls....well...at least his stand on not hitting Chidori.
He didn't even bother to press the stopwatch..he was going to be his lazy self and let her time her own swim...He smirked...if she cared anything about her grade she would seriously have a bone to pick with him after her run.

::she came back panting "whew, what was my time?" she smiled at him, climbing out of the pool and drying off her hair "whew, what a work out! Now its your turn, and I get to see you all wet" she smiles in somewhat of a lustful way.
I darken my lines and sigh deeply. admiring the drawing I had just done of him; for some reason, the drawings I did of him always turned out better than any other, he inspired me.::

"Oh geeze." He said taking a quick look at the stopwatch.
"I must have been distracted by your horrible dive, that I totally forgot to press the timer." sardonic and curt, he'd hoped she'd get the point as he took his place...trying not to pay attention to the swimming trunks that were riding up his rear..the school board was sadistic...to think they made the kids wear stuff like this. He glanced over at Risa and her drawings and set his face in a determined scowl.
I'll prove myself Risa...even if I have to drown doing it.

::Chi laughed "oh you! Youre so forgetful!" she playfully pushes him.
I watch him get ready, the speedos riding up his rear, I giggle a bit, putting down my sketchpad to watch. His body was so fit, I wouldn't be suprizes if he was the fastest swimmer today.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"
Everyone jumped in, Chidori started the timer::

Kane cracked his shoulders and jumped in......and floated there, only from his nose up above water....he wasn't about to show off for these people...let alone Chidori...let her sit up there and keep time for the rest of class....he wasn't moving....heh...at least he'd gotten away from her for a little while at least...well..until he turned pruny.

::Chidori panicked and jumped in practically on top of him and pulled him to the side "Kane! Are you alright? Do you not know how to swim??"
I watched, a bit horrified that he should be dead, my eyes teared up "Kane..."::
[lunchtime, id skip, but ill faint, im hypoglycemic. if i dont see you when I get back, I hope to see you on EARLY sometime tonight XDDD]

His plan backfired.
"OH GO-- IT WON'T MATTER IF YOU KEEP CLINGING LIKE THAT!!!!" He flailed and managed to free himself from Chidori's grasp. Only...when he did, he fell back into the water and sucked in a breath.....of water. He started choughing underwater forgetting to kick and float back to the surface.
I'm going to die... He thought.
I'm going to drown in the school's pool because of little miss twit up there....how embarassing...I didn't even get to...get....get to.. Darkness flooded his vision and his body became limp.
Someone....help...

::I stood up, not knowing what I should do. I couldn't jump in, everyone would see- Chidori dove under and pulled his limp body to the surface, everyone gathered as she pull him to the ground. She knelt beside him.
"Kane! Kane? CANE YOU HEAR ME? Wake up!" she hit the side of his face, which was a light color of blue; his lips were blue and his mouth was slightly open. But he lay still. She laid her ear on his chest- no breathing. Chidori pushed his head back, held his nose and blew air into his lungs and performed CPR.
I clenched my teeth and held my breath- seeing her do that was a relief, but hurt me at the same time.
Aeka called to me, "RISA! AS SOON AS HE WAKES UP, I WANT you to immediately take him to the nurses office!" He pulled his walkie talkie from his belt and paged the front office, letting them know Kane will be there shortly.
I nodded, fully understanding that he could have swallowed alot of water, and could have some trouble breathing after he woke up.
Chidori continued on the CPR, everyone stood around, whispers arose in the crowd, all stared.
I only wish I wasn't so cold to him, Id never forgive myself if he died and I was angry with him "Please Kane... wake up... for me..." I prayed.::
[but you weren't here when I came back, and you left me on a damn cliffhanger *emoooo*]

As everyone gathered around, Kane's body wracked with a coughing fit that sent him sputtering water out of his lungs and rolling onto his side. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around. There was Risa...and Chidori...she must have been the one that saved him...but instead of thanking her..he gripped the front of her bathing suit and glared.
"YOU...almost....got me killed...I was fine until you decided to jump in on top of me.." His voice grew louder until he was forced to let and grip his throat, coughing.

::Chidori fell backwards "Kane...Im sorry..." she was serious this time, no smiles or anything.
A few boys picked him up from his armpits and helped him to the nurses office; I followed, glad to see he was alright. tears were in my eyes, but he was strong. He would recover very shortly.
The two boys laid him down on the bed gently and were dismissed back to class. I sat in a waiting chair and they closed the curtain. The nurse was silent as she treated him; I waited patiently. Before i left, Mr. Aeka told me to stay with him until he was well... Mr. Aeka sure picks on me alot, I thought, but it was because I couldn't participate in class. Then he told me to write a paper on drowning and how it can effect your brain.
I sighed deeply, waiting for the nurse to finish::

Kane went limp between the two boys that helped him to his feet, once or twice he tried to brush them off and walk on his own, but tumbled forward and they had to catch him before he hit the ground.
In the nurse's office, he was brought his own clothes, but didn't bother to put them on, he just covered his lower body with the blanket there and lay back his body resting. His eyes were halfway closed as he was treated, the nurse making sure that everything was in proper working order before she smiled at him, patting his shoulder, and left.
Kane lay there looking at the ceiling, and didn't bother to respond.
Geeze.....maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on Chidori... He thought.
But she was the one that jumped in on me...it's not like everyone doesn't know I know how to swim....wouldn't have gotten near the pool otherwise. He rolled over to face the wall and shivered, he was still damp, so he jerked the cover higher.
