Kane scoffed.
"Don't care, need speed, whatever's fastest....." He paused and then thought a moment.
"Though considering...Falcon or the like is prefered." Kane flushed a light pink as he looked at his arm.
"Brings back memories..." He read the label and looked over as he untied his headband.
"You sure this one isn't going to get lost in all the others?" He asked.
"I'll bet you have Noah labled like this too don't you?"

Juri growled in her throat.
"He'll see you when he damn well pleases...you're not going to rule over him with this crap...I'll make sure you can't tell anyone anything if that's the case." Juri waited till she was out of the door before collapsing back on the couch.
"Kane....what am I going to do with you?"

He looked at all the animals and nodded.
"I think then the Eagle would do it." He carefully opened the cage to the resting eagle; he looked to him with power, and eagerness in its eyes as he went to him. The professor took some of its blood, and it flew back to his perch, in the large cage. The professpr smiled and and threw a fish carcass in the cage, as a reward and the eagle went right for it. He shut the cage and went to the table and patted it.
"Please, lay up here, belly down, clothes off. What get lost with the others? And no I never intended Noah to fall in love with Risa, believe me, that was all him." He said, injecting the blood into a serum vile, the liquids mixing and turning violet.

Chidori just shrugged, slamming the door, knowing exactly what she had to do next.

Kane had just finished removing his pants and chain belt when the professor had turned back to him.
"Fine." He said with a little more than distaste in his voice....this was going to be cold.
He hopped up and lay on his stomach as directed, one arm under his head to prop it up.
"Feh, well it's some crazy obession he's got then..."

Juri shook her head, pulling Oreo into her lap, petting the cat to relieve some stress.
"You're lucky you're not related to that retard." She said.
"Count your blessings."

The professor picked up Kanes belonings and clothes and put them into a bag and placed it on the floor. He sighed.
"Ill need you to put your arms out.." He pointed to the straps, that were there to tie his hands down; he had already strapped his feet in.
"Its going to hurt and I dont need you flailing about." He took a fresh needle out and sucked the serum into the vile and stood over Kane.
"There will be 3 injections; One in your neck, one in your spine, and one in your buttock. Please... try not to move or squirim, the one in your neck and spine will hurt the most."

I had grown tired and went to my sleeping bag; Noah and Hita had insisted on staying and protecting me for the night, I said yes, though part of me not wanting them to get wet from the downpour outside. The both leaned against the wall of the cave beside me and drifted to slee. I lay on my side in my bag, wondering how my beloved Kane was.. and if he was thinking of me. A hefty sigh and heavy lids, I was fast asleep.

Kane sighed and stretched out allowing himself to be strapped in.
"Pain in the butt." He muttered. He quirked an eyebrow and looked over at the professor.
"Yah....pain sure....." He paled a little..but he'd survive..he'd have to...he still had a score to settle with Noah after all.
"Just....keep talking to me once this thing starts....I want to stay awake for it...." Not that he was trying to be macho...no..he was just scared that if he fell asleep....that he might not remember who he was doing this for.

"Im no pain in the butt, you are. You come barging into my home late at night demanding answers and serums. Damn kids these days..." he strapped his hands in good and tight and shoves a small bean filled pillow under his head and puts the slice of an orange into his mouth.
"Dont eat it now, its so you dont bite your tongue.. now hold still.." he layed his cold, old, wrinly hand on Kanes warm flesh on his neck and lifted his hair a bit and slowly forced the needle into the vertebrae in his neck. He injected 30% there and pulled it out. He patted his back.
"Youre doing good now..."

Kane sighed.
"Not you the stra--" The orange was shoved in and he rolled it back farther into his mouth and held it there, clamping lightly to keep it in place.
Kane grunted, holding his breath as the needle forced it's way into his neck. The serum stung as it went in, and his eyes watered a little, but he endured...when it had gone, he relaxed a little, the tension in his body not helping his cause any.

The professor could sense his pain and he moved down to the middle of his back.
"Endure my boy...endure." he placed his hand here too, rubbing it with alcohol as he did the first then rubbed his finger around the area, to be sure he would be going between the discs, then finally, pushed the long needle into his spinal cord. He knew the pain of this procedure and rubbed the boys back as the serum was slowly injected...40%. After injecting, he slowly pulled it out, the spine bone rubbing against the needle.
"The worse is over boy, you did well."

Kane bit down hard when the needle went into his back, squirting orange juice out a few feet, keeping him from biting his tounge like the Doc said, but also muffling his cries of pain.
He let out another cry, louder this time when the metal touched bone. He wasn't trying to hide his tears now, and he let them flow easily down his face to drip off his chin, mixing with sweat from his tense muscles.
Thanks for telling me that.. He thought sarcasticly.
Now tell me something I DON'T know

He went down to the boy's butt and shoved the needle into his right cheek and injected. He nodded and went to where he had sat the band-aids and rubbed each area with peroxide before placing a band-aid on each wound. He was quiet for a long time, knowing the intense pain had subsided, but knew his back was still throbbing. He only hoped doing this for her would bring them together. The sleepy medicine mixed in should be kicking in by now and he wheeled him into another room, across the hall. A cage was prepared for him, equipped with a camrea for close viewing, a cozy bed, with pillows and blankets and a small tray of food and water. He unbucked Kane and hoisted his limp body over his shoulder and put him on the bed.
"Whew, usually I have the boys do my heavy lifting. Well now, you stay in here and just sleep. When you wake up, you should be a blossomed beauty beyond compare. For now, just rest and let the serum do its work." he pushed Kanes legs up onto the bed and made him as comfy as possible, covering him up and placing the ice packs on the table beside his bed.
"If you need anything, press the button beside the bed and my maid will assist you. Good luck."

It wasn't so bad the third time around....Kane had almost gotten used to the pain, but why was he getting tired.
"Damnit...I wanted.....to be awake...." He muttered as he felt himself move.
He lolled his head around looking about. He groaned and turned to look over his shoulder.
"What is it with you and cages?" He asked groggily.
He almost hurled as he was lifted onto the professor's shoulder.
"Easy now." he said with an urp.
"I don't want to stain that nice white coat of yours..." He held back another heave and then sighed, rolling over when he was put down.
"remind me to ask you about....those...'boys' of yours...when..I get out of here." He mumbled. The rest was a blur as the sides of his eyes grew dark and the world faded away.

"Sorry, you have to sleep to have the serum take effect, it will all pass soon. Sleep makes time pass by faster, as you know. As for the cages, its for my protection and yours, in case something goes wrong and you lose all sense in yourself.." he shut the cage softly and it clicked shut loudly.
"Sleep well, young prince, your princess is counting on you..." with that he was gone and Kane was out like the light.

Black was all that he could remember....pain, and then darkness...Kane vaugely thought he'd opened his eyes before, and saw figures just beyond the bars to his cell, but as soon as he roused up enough, he was gone again..but this time...it was different.
He cracked an eye, and slowly his sight adjusted to the lighting.
"What....Where..." He started to rise from the fluffy bed that he was laying on, but his back felt heavier than usual.
He moved his shoulder trying to get whatever it was off...but instead..IT moved with him.
"What the!" He cried looking back.

Kane's eyes widened as he looked over his shoulder...there on his back were two large, brown lines, feathery and heavy.
"....." He stretched out his arm and out one went with it.
"Wow..." The wings were large, about the size of Risa's, and dark brown, a burnt orange in the light, and tipped in solid black.
He moved to the edge of the bed and sat there, with one pulled in front of him studying the feathers and the bone structure....till his stomach growled, loudly echoing in the stark room.

The room light lit up the room and his cage and the professor, eating a cheeseburger, came waddling in. It had been 9 days, and he was beginning to lose hope that Kane would wake up.. he was afraid he would stay in the coma.... his eyes were low, the cage on the far side of the room, he bothered not to look, make his day feel lower than it was. He sighed, siping his coffee and munching his burger, turning on his computer.
"Another day...another... mistake..." he ran his hand over his balding head and stared at the Windows symbol that appeared on screen. the low humming the only sound in the room, along with the running of Kane heart monitor.

...Kane glared.
"WHO THE HELL'S A MISTAKE YOU JERK!?" Kane stood, shakily, grabbing a pillow to chuck out through the bars of his cage. He huffed and spread his arms, spreading his wings as well.
"Crap..." He muttered.
"Didn't mean to do that.." He slowly set them down, then tried again.
"Lemme out of here." He said, putting a hand on his stomach.
"I'm starving, and I need clothes, Juri's going to be worried sick."

He flinched, the pillow hitting the back of his head. His eyes widened, almost choking on his last big bite and stood, running to the side of the cage.
"Kane?! Youre finally awake! How are you feeling?" He paged the servant to come immediately with a platter of food over the loud speaker near by.
"No clothes yet my boy, Id like to take some x-rays and run a few tests before I let you go. You... are my greatest work of art. From what I can see, no flaws in the splicing..." he adjusted his glasses and looked him over closely.
"Come, come on out and it up on the table. I must look you over." The excitement in his voice was true, the sound of a proud father, perhaps. He unlatched the cage from outside and waited for him at the entrance.

"Like hell....and hungry." He glared. as soon as the door was unlocked, Kane dodged the professor and went straight for the plate of food.
"Sweet, wonderful, glorious food!" He said with a smile. He then took what meat there was and stuffed it into what bread had been brought, making an impromtu sandwich. He then headed back over to the table and hopped up again, sitting upright till directed otherwise.
"Whatefer you fay.." He swallowed.
"I just need to get home to Juri, She's probably worried, and there's no telling how Chi took the news about me....I'm worried if only for Juri's sake..." He looked around.
"I don't know why we have to do this now...I've got to come back after grabbing a few things anyway, you're the only one that I figure knows where Risa went anyway." He cocked an eyebrow and stared.
"Riiiiiiight?"

He chuckled as Kane whizzed past him and went to the food the maid had left so silently on the table. The professor looked at Kane with so much interest. His wings...were epic, nothing like he'd ever seen on a splice, and his success with putting ONLY the wings on him was genius and flawless. He just smiled as Kane sat up on the table. he grabbed up a stethoscope and went to his side, listening to his beat. He ran his hands up his arm, to see if there was any sign of feathers coming in, but there was non, only smooth skin.
"Tell me, does it hurt anywhere, other than the base of your wings?" He asked, rubbing his chin.
"Be patient my boy, I will only take some x-rays and blood and youre free to go for now. As for your sister, she called about 4 days ago, I let her know you were doing fine... and as for Risa, I dont know where she is, but Noah and Hita do." He handed him the bag of clothing.
"You.. may not want to hear a shirt; it will irritate your wings. I dont recommend tieing them down right away either; they are still healing the the feathers are still coming in. Also, I dont think you should fly for very long distances until you get your bearings about your new appendages, and learn how they work, or you could strain them, and your spine." He handed him a cup filled with purple liquid.
"Drink this; it will help ease the pain in your back from the wings coming through."

Kane shook his head.
"Naw, and even then, it's only a slight discomfort...trust me, it's nothing to getting shot." He glared over.
"Which by the way, I haven't forgotten about that little stunt with the rifle..." He waggled a finger.
"Next time I see that thing I'm breaking it in half." He blinked.
"Juri...called here? How'd she know where I was...." He looked over....and on another table sat his cell that he'd forgotten all about.
"Oh yeah.....forgot about that sucker..." He finished off his food and cocked his head.
"Noah and Hita? Who the hell is Hita?" Kane took the bag and sifted through the clothes...there was his pants from the other day...he sighed, at least they looked like they'd been washed.
Socks...check, Boots....they were left by his cage door.
Belt, wallet, everything was there.
"Well then, it's a good thing I know lots of shortcuts to the house right?" He chuckled. What would the neighbors think to see him half naked with wings. He smiled looking down.
"One day." He said.
"Two at most...then I'm coming back to find out where Risa is." He looked up.
"Strain or no, I'm not wasting time trying to heal." Kane looked at the goop with a critical eye, but downed it in a gulp.
"OH CRAP THAT'S NASTY!" He doubled over holding his mouth shut.
"Guhhh....that was worse than pennicillin...." He made a face, sticking his tounge out.
"Barf."

"She didnt call your cell phone; it died the 2nd day of your rest. She called here, she said she had it on caller ID. He prepped a fresh needle to withdraw some blood and swabbed his vein for intake. He inserted slowly and took some, continuing on.
"Hita is another spliced human. He is a good boy, and tends to keep Noah in line."
He sighed, pulling out the needle and placing a band-aid on his spot. He placed the cap on it, putting it down on the table.
"Lay. I need x-rays before you fly. And put all your stuff on the floor; no clothes and stuff for this one. As for flying, just dont strain too much... its as if youre using your wrist after its been in a cast for 4 months. It hurts for a while."
He chuckled. "Of course its nasty, its pure protien, Iron and calcium. None of that junk you buy at GMC, I tell you that."

When Kane first broke into the Prof's home, he had him at gunpoint ^^))

"Crap..." Kane sighed.
"That's surprising, Juri doesn't even know how to program out VCR, let alone figure out Caller ID..." He chuckled...then again, who DID know how to program those stupid things?
"Hnn....really?"
Well at least there's one that I might not have to fight. He thought. Noah, however was still on his craplist. Kane did as told, and lay back.
"I'll be fine....can't be as hard as everyone thinks....not when Risa makes it look so easy." He pouted.
"But I like the stuff from GMC...it's good."

The professor just let out a small laugh as he prepped the machine, clinking buttons until the giant machine moved over his fleshy body and spead wings.
"When a family member as determined as her wants to know how you are, they find a way. Hold still now." He took some shots, then the machine moved to a few other angles until he was finished.
"It is hard. You spent 9 days in a comatose state, your spine and back gave birth to those wings, not only do you have wounds on your back that need to heal from them breaking through the skin (remember haibane renmei) but the feathers arent fully opened up, and gown in. You must remember, Risa's are natural, she was born with them, and have a higher growth rate, the feathers. If one were to fall out, 3 more grow in within hours. Birds, it takes weeks. PLUS she didnt have to recover from her wings coming though her skin; they were supposed to be there, in the womb, as she was created by God. An angel."
He flicked the lights back on.
"You may dress and go, just...be careful. Come back when you want to find Risa, i will have one of the boys assist you to her whereabouts."

"That's Juri allright." He sighed.
"Gah she's a pain." Kane listened with a vauge intrest.
"Bleh, don't lecture me about birds, Abel's still at home and he's all the bird I need, if Juri hasn't cooked him already." He jerked on his pants, forgoing any underwear or socks, jerking his boots on after that, standing and stretching.
"And don't tell me what an Angel Risa is either....I've known that for a long time." He smiled at the thought of Risa, and seeing her again..
"I just hope she doesn't kill me for what I've done."

He laughed.
"A bird is a bird. YOU are now half bird and must teat your wings with such respect and let them do what they need to do naturally." He watched him stand and stretch, as his arms went out, so did his wings.
"You.. need to learn to control your wings. Make them move without your bodys help." he smiled at his remark about Risa and nodded, agreeing.
"I dont think she will.. she may be mad at first though."

Kane looked over his shoulder, his wings fluffing a little.
"Like that?" He asked.
"Trust me, that I didn't do." He thought about that a minute then flexed his shoulders, not moving his arms at all....they didn't want to move at first, but then slowly....they rose about halfway and then fell back along his back.
"Well....crap....but then again, that's what that extra day is for." He smiled. He turned around and stuck out a hand.
"I don't like you.." He said simply.
"But......I'll grant that you're not as psycho as I might have first thought.....'not as' you're still crazy, but I'm starting to think I might be right up there." He shook the professor's hand quickly and then with a wave bounded out of the house, taking time to sweep up the maid in a quick jig.
"♪ Risa here I come!♪" He sing-songed on his way out.
