Kane smirked.
"Damn right, when it comes to him I am."
He smiled.
"I don't know..." He pulled her close.
"If I'm like this, then I'm thinking I don't want to move."
He nodded and held her tight.
"I missed you too."

I giggled, and smiled to myself, thinking of how protective he was. I looked up into his eyes and smiled as he pulled me to him.
"i don't want you to move either..." i let out an exasperated sigh.
"Now what is the plan...?" I whispered.
"Juri will want you home..."

He shrugged.
"Juri'll be fine, she knows where I went...and she knows that it'll take some time before I come back....so..I can safely say, she won't worry till I don't come home at least by the day after tomorrow."

"But what will we do tomorrow?" I asked concerned. School was over. No school. Every day i had just been flying about, gathering food and fire wood, then reading a book I found. My DS battery was almost dead, so playing games was out; I needed the light.

He cocked his head.
"You could always come back home.....Me and Juri miss you...the house is all quiet without you there...and the ankle biters are lonely."

"Home? No, I have no home, my home is here. I told myself I'd never return to burden you or her anymore. And havn't you been keeping them company?" I asked, lifting my head to look into his eyes.
"Quiet is good..." I muttered, laying my head back down.

"Risa...." Kane said quietly.
"You know that's not true...we've been worried sick about you up here...won't you at least come back to town? You can't stay up here forever...in hiding.."

I shook my head.
"I dont belong with normal people. Ignorant humans. Im tired of hiding, and strapping down my wings. the freedom I have up here is seemingly endless. I miss Juri and the cats, but I love this freedom. Hiding... is what I should do, for the rest of my life. No town. No city. Just... open feilds and dense forests for me.." I relaxed again and closed my eyes.

He sighed.
"There's no convicing you then?" He asked.
"......if that's the case...then I'll have to move up here with you." He smiled.
"I'm not staying there in town if it means being this far away from you...I'll head back tomorrow and pick up whatever I need from home...and you can give me a shopping list....looks like your oh-so ill equipped to stay here another week." He chuckled.
"This should be fun...like camping!"

"M-move up here?" I abruptly sat up.
"Its... out of the question. You have a life and a sister to get back to, she cares about you! Kane, don't throw your life away...a sister that cares for you should mean more to you in the whole world..." I looked down at my hands and sighed.
"I feel like Im arguing with a brick wall..."

He smiled.
"Yep, brick wall I am." He chuckled.
"Risa...why don't you come back with me? Just for a day...see what happens? I'm sure Juri would love to see you again."

I sighed, looking down at him, and obviously, felt defeated.
"Fine. You get ONE day and thats it..." I huffed and laid back down, laying my own wing over me. The brisk breeze coming in from outside was cooler than before.

He smiled and tucked his wings tighter around the two of them.
"Thank you...." He whispered against her hair, drifting off into a light sleep.

(*Stabs short posts!* wanna time skip?)

I awoke before Kane did, and I smiled, slipping from under his grasp over me and tip-toed to the mouth of the cave where I flew out, to the small pond from before and unclothed in the silence of the rising sun in the woods. I hummed to myself happily, and stepped into the brisk water, goosebumps running up my spine and fluffing my feathers.

Kane muttered under his breath, shifting over into a warmer spot, tucking both wing, and what cover he could grab around him, he tried to go back to sleep...when he realized where he was..and who wasn't with him.
"Risa...?" He murmmured sleepily. He looked around and finally woke up enough to crawl to the cave's entrance.
"Mmmmnnnggghhhh..." He groaned rubbing his head.
"What a night...."

I finally stepped all the way into the freezing water and shrugged, dunking my head under and swimming to the warm spot in the middle. i came back up and kept my arms close to my body to retain some heat and merely rinsed off; I had run out of shampoo a few days ago, and i lost my bar of soap to a raccoon last week. I was a real mess, and washed up the best I could. What I wouldn't give for a real, hot shower.

Kane sat cross-legged in the middle of the cave floor, running a hand through his hair to untangle it as best he could, he hadn't needed to dress, falling asleep in his clothes like he did, so he was preoccupied trying to make his hair and wings at least look presentable.

I finished up quickly, not wanting to be in the water for too long, or i'd get cold, i climbed out and shook the water from my feathers and dried. I dressed into new, clean clothes and flew back to the cave and tiptoed inside, not realizing he was awake and sitting up.
"Oh, good morning" I said though wet, messy hair.

Kane waved to her with a sleepy face.
"Hi.." He let out a yawn and cracked his neck as he stretched in the small cramped space of the cave.
"Have a good bath?" He asked noting her wet hair.

I nodded, sitting down beside him.
"Yes, but it was very cold from the night. I should have waited until it warmed up during the day, but meh. I like morning showers." I stuck my tongue out at him and looked at him wings, now in the morning light, shining though the mouth of the cave.
"they..are so beautiful...." I folded mine neatly behind me and pulled out my brush from my bag and began brushing my knotty hair.
"So, what's the plan to today?" i asked, glancing at him.

He smiled.
"Nice to know." Kane chuckled..and then blushed.
"Ah, much more of that, and before long Risa, you're going to have given me an ego." He moved to the mouth and looked out.
"Well, we were going to go into town today right? Get some needed supplies...see Juri.." He turned back.
"Sound alright?"

I watched him closely as he stood, and walked to the opening, only wearing long jeans. I wondered if he was cold at all though the night? It gets very cold out here... and him without a shirt could be deadly.
"Yes... the city..." I pulled my wallet out of my pack and saw I only had three dollars left. I tched and looked to him.
"I need to work for some first.. I only have three left." i looked away, kind of ashamed I didn't have what we needed and put my wallet in my back pocket and pulled on some socks. I wore a white tank, black capris and sneakers. I stood.

He looked back.
"Well, we'll just have to see what we can do when we get there." He smiled.
"How about that? Jerry might give us work for a while, I used to bus for his resturant when Juri was just starting." He pondered over that a moment, and then sighed.
"But we still need to go by Juri's, I need a change of clothes...and a hot bath might work better than cold water for this crick..." He rubbed over his shoulder rotating it around in the socket. He fluffed a little, and smiled.
"You ready?" He asked

I nodded, standing up beside him.
"hot..." I got chills just thinking about it and nodded.
"Yes, lead the way. I don't wanna go too fast for you." I smiled at him and opened my wings, readying them for the flight ahead. I picked up my white jacket and handed him a rather large black hoodie.
"You'll need that when we land on the outskirts of town... to hide your wings..."

He took the hoddie with a 'pff'
"Risa.." He said stepping out into the open.
"You sorely underestimate my willpower." He dropped from the cliff edge, barreling down the side, opening his wings last minute with a whoop, and spiraling back up into the sky.
"Come on!" He cried back, ushering her on with a wave of his arm.
