I just don't see the point in it really. It takes me so long to send a message. Typing is much easier or just calling.

Yeah the time it takes to wait to select and go through each letter...I could've just called and said what I have to say. Some people are really savvy and text in seconds. I'm not that quick. xp

I still prefer talking. Although it comes in handy when you want to be discreet and not get caught I guess. XD

if your phone is text message capable you should have t9 on it. It is sort of like a dictionary type of thing it already has the words in it and when you press the numbers in order of the letters that you want (the = 8-4-3) The would just pop up instead of tgd (I did have to look at my phone to figure that out I swear I'm not -that- bad lol. but T9 makes it go a lot faster. (normally to get the it would have to be 8-4-4-3-3 so that it is on the letter you want.)

One of my friends used to only communicate through texts/instant messenger. He had a really jealous girlfriend and if she heard him talking to another girl she would completely flip out. >.< and so we would text each other. d: jealous girlfriends fail. I have Scott like hell I would want someone else. lol.

O.o That puts a lot of strain on a relationship. Geez, sounds like she had a self-confidence issue. That's way too possessive...

  • You guys are so weird @[email protected]
    I think the main reason why I text is because I.. don't have the money to call >_> It's -really- expensive, and my pay-plan gives me 500 free text messages a day, so.. I don't use T9, though- tend to hate it, even x__x It's really unconventional in Lithuanian- not to mention words we use are rarely ones from a dictionary :|

    Now that you few said you text slowly, I imagine you with thick glasses, bent over a phone, pressing buttons with one finger and constantly pausing to find the next letter-- my granny2's image! Though the first one sometimes texts faster than I do.

It takes forever for me to text..It is cheaper. If I had 500 free texts I would definitely be motivated to be quicker and use them. :3

I have unlimited texts on my plan so if I don't use them a lot I'm wasting the money. I used to have like 2k and would constantly go over them. It took forever for AT&T to get unlimited. and it made me so happy when they finally did.

yeah she has a lot of issues. I don't think they are a couple right now anymore. But they are still living together, which makes the relationship even more strained because she won't let him date but thinks if she wants to go out with friends dressed like a whore and pick up men it's ok :/ have I mentioned they have a 3 year old son together? yeah. drama up the wazoo in that house. I don't think I'll get into it though. ^^;;

  • It comes with practice, of course. Though I've noticed as long as you know around where in the alphabet and thus in the cell's keyboard the letter will be- you're fine. Yet it's amazing how many people I've seen not getting the system. They start looking for W all around A or G and... what? :shock:

    I'm also quite sure all younger people are more or less fluent with it. I mean, my mom is way better with her cell phone than her dad/gramps @[email protected]

    Either way, it's pretty cheap and allows for longer- and sometimes even multiple!- conversations. Sometimes you would just not have anything good to say in a conversation if you were to call a person- but it works in texts 8);;;

    Why doesn't that man seriously do something about it? I don't think I could ever live under such a pressure. Plus, it sounds like the girl really needs a good slap on the face and to be told to grow up D:

her parents always sheltered her from anything and it's because of him that she ever moved out in the first place then he got her pregnant and I think he feels that he has to stay around even if he can't stand her ways for their son. He's a good dad, but she's insane IMO of course since I only ever hear his side of it I am probably biased and hearing exaggerated versions of what she does. ^^;; But still.

I do multiple conversations on texts >.> Most of the time i am talking to 3 or so people at once. and very true with what Varicose said, sometimes you don't really have enough to say if you were to call the person and so you would get awkward silence after a while. and so texting is easier for that as well XD

  • I definitely understand the part about staying around because of their son- but I believe something could be done- and should be done D: Those crazy women.

    Everyone is slow at first :B It gets better quickly. I'm not spreading propaganda about how awesome texting is and how you all should stop calling people- but I think it's a nice skill to have just in case :>
