Well no we didn't but we're in for it!
I live in Texas, I happen to really dislike America, but I like a few parts of Texas a lot. I'm sure that could go for anyone living in the states. But whattabout other countries inside Europe/Asia/etc.? Do you like where you live, but dislike where your country is going?

Soooo.... Discuss!

I'm pretty cool with Canada.
We just kind of... do our thing and try not to piss people off. It's a good way to be.
And it's pretty, too. Yay trees <3

Yeah I agree. I hate it when Americans make fun of Canada. I think it's because they wish they could make friends as easily as Canada. But we really make ENEMIES as easy as you guys make friends.

It makes me laugh when people make fun of Canada XD
Have you seen the South Park movie? "Blame Canada" was stuck in my head for about a day. I mean, really, we NEVER get mentioned in movies! It was awesome.
But I mean, don't be too harsh on the States. Sure, you guys have a lot of enemies - but that's because you're willing to step out and actually do something in the world. Maybe it's not your place to do that, maybe you're the only country who can do that, whatever. I know I'd feel a lot less secure if the States wasn't there to keep places like North Korea in check, at least a little.

I live in America. T.T
And I like it.

I mean, we [I don't mean everyone] can be violent...and we have flaws...but so does every country.
America is one of the most industrialized countries in the world and I would say I feel lucky to live here cause not everyone gets a chance.

The only thing thing that bugs me about America is um, the president.
Sorry if that offended anyone. o.o

I have no problems with other countries though.
Different cultures are all fascinating.
I'm just saying I wouldn't put down America so much. :3

I live in Holland, and I sort of dislike my country because of the dumb
politics. Yeah. Dumb. D - U - M - B. Realy.
We pay so many tax, ridiculus. Me and my boyfriend can only feed ourselfs
and the cat with the money we have left each month, but we can't do
anything fun.

I don't realy hate America or Canada, in fact, if I had a chance, I would
them.

The countries that I realy hate would be in Africa, that the people get so
pushed down by the leaders of the country that there is no way to
lead a normal life.

I live in Canada. I pretty much like it, but I can't compare it to anything else because i've never lived anywhere else....
I don't really follow politics or current events very much (lol, i know I should, but I'm blissfully ignorant) so all I know is that where I live works for me!
the Capital of BC is a pretty kickass place to live and work and play :)

I live in Canada. I used to live in America though in Florida for 7 years. I love Canada! It's a warm, friendly place and it doesn't take 10 years to become a citizen. When we were in America, we applied for it but we had to wait for ages and we never got it. And that whole time, we were afraid to leave the country and go visit my grandparents in China, because if we left, we might not be able to come back home. So for 7 years we were stuck there and I culdn't see my beloved ones who raised me. And my mom couldn't get pregnant, because we didn't have an insurance. We were too poor at the time. And when we moved here, my mom was too old and she couldn't give birth anymore. So now I will be forever an only child. That sucks because I've always wanted to have a baby brother or sister to raise. I love babies and children. I guess I will have to wait until I have my own. It's just sad that I will never be able to experience that and I will never have a sister or brother. So I say darn the American policies!

Aw that sucks so much about you parents not being able to have a child when they lived in the US! I never knew about those policies, mostly because I live in canada myself! I'm glad things are working out for you guys here, though it still sucks that you dont have that sibling you've always wanted... *sadface*.

I live in New Jersey. Ugh. When I moved into my town almost 10 years ago, there were very few stores and the houses were rather out of the way. Now even the farming section is getting developed. I hate it. When I was 5, there were 90 kids in my grade and around 200 in the other K-2 elementary school. Now there's about 200 in my school, 500 in the other elementary school, and they're building an addition to the PLC (primary learning center) for K-2, and they're doing massive extensions on the 3-4 and 5-6 schools. What will be my high school used to house 7-12. Now it holds 9-10, with new buildings for 7-8 and 11-12. And we just had a large town pull out of the district, and are still pressed for space.

I absolutely hate it hear. Tourist town, too.

I live in America. Wisconsin to be exact. It kinda makes me mad when people make fun of us. I'm originally from Chicago, but we moved to WI when I was young. I also travel a lot so, when I meet people from the South, for example, they ask me if I'm from "Whis-CAN-sin". I have learned to reply, casually with, "No. I'm from Wis-con-sin."

Anyway...I don't really agree with what our country's officials are doing at the moment. I don't believe in the War at all, however, I do support our troops. It's not their fault where they are and my thoughts are with them. I kinda have this urge to start picketing like many Americans did for Vietnam. *sigh* However, I'm just too lazy. lol

O_o;

I have to admit, I did not prepare to walk in on good comments about the USA. >_>
:sheepish:

I live in Colorado (that weird squarish state right above Utah and Next to Kansas...cuz apparently no one else on the online world lives here), but I am not happy with the way the cogs of my country are turning.mmI think we're covering up some major rot in our processes and policies and pretending that everything's running smoothly...and I just want politicians to acknowledge the problems and fix it.

But overall, I really like my country and feel very lucky to live here and have the opportunities that I have.

I live in Missouri, in the US. I love my country. I have the opportunity to become anything I want someday. But its not perfect. I do hate some of the policies, especially those of the current administration.

I live in the festering source of most all of America's current problems- Washington DC.

And yet, despite all the nasty political crap that goes on her (please nuke it. please please please), I must say I enjoy the city overall. The museums here alone make it all worthwhile.

Unfortunately it's too damn expensive here. So I'm moving off to Pittsburgh soon~ I'm excited.

  • I'm in Texas too! Austin is love. <3 It humors me that the capital is such a liberal place in this...conservative Republican state. XD

    Ugh...I feel pretty strongly against the leaders in our country. But the apathy that most Americans seem to feel really digs at me too. It's like they aren't even slightly concerned about things like the economy or anything beyond their own mundane existence! >_>;;

    I have done quite a bit of country and state hopping since I was an Army brat. I still want to do more...before I make any solid judgments about my opinions on places. The grass seems greener on the other side of the fence...and I don't want to be stuck in delusions.

I live in America and feel fortunate to live here. If this was another country, we may not be so lucky with wars and stuff. I don't make fun of any countries for they are interesting and I might visit there some day.

Canada is just awesome; all us people in the states are just jealous. XD

I mean seriously. Canada has more nice people, cuter looking money, the most awesome scenery, snow, and nobody hates them; because they are just so nice and polite like that.

Americans on the other hand, tend to be rude, pushy, loud and greedy. If I lived in another country; I'd wouldn't like us either. ^^;

I'm in central Maryland; about 30-min from Baltimore. The death trap we call a city *rolls eyes* I'd feel safer in downtown New York then in B'More any day and twice on Sunday.

`Pinkspiders: I'd rather not resurrect JFK. We should just bring back Jimmy Carter instead.

Sprite: Yeah being in America can be fortunate.

Raine: Yeah, I live 20 minutes from Dallas, TX, the highest crime rate city in America.
