I've only done that once.

It was worth it, it was a bag of chippies, and I'm addicted to mai chippies. I was so mad at Old Dutch after that. But I took them back, we've been through so much together it was hard to say no

Hate to break it to you guys, but no warranty covers accidental damage, only malfunctions. Most of them also don't cover 'Acts of God.' LOL

My bf spilled soda on my laptop and that definitely wasn't covered under the extra warranty I purchased for it (that cost $300 extra btw). :(

I've never returned food before. I return clothes and electronics all of the time though. If someone buys me something that doesn't fit/work correctly or something turns out to be of poor quality, I want some sort of exchange or refund.

That's never happened to me, but once my mom got a pack of those Sunny D thingys and apparently she forgot to check the expiration date it was literally two years behind past the expiration date o_0
If you ever try to buy food from Dollar general always check the expiration date D:

  • @Aero: xD Those olive oils are being imported to America. I just thought about this topic, because they said the only way to find out if your oil is inferior is to TASTE it. @[email protected]; So that would...require returning it. Which is something I've yet to do for any product.

    @Dearest: Holy cow. xD That's a pretty interesting store. I feel bad doing that to a local store...but heck, if a large corporation like Wal-Mart did it, I would not feel ill to profit. ^^;
    I dunno if I remember right, but I believe expiration/sell by dates don't mean it's exactly THAT date that it rots or something. It's usually a couple days afterwards, depending on the product. So that's why eating something a little past the expiration date is okay? *can't recall* ^^;;

    @Sizzla: Seriously? x_X;; But see, I...guess I just find it weird that they require you to BUY a warranty when their product malfunctions. It's their fault in producing something that doesn't work. So why do we pay? :< I guess that's just my thinking. >_>;; *steps on mean big businesses*

    @cleric sarah: ...oh gross. @[email protected]; Mold growing on sour cream...*shudders*

    @nescia: Oh oh, I have returned clothing before. XD

Ohmygod. Your title reminded me of this one song Hannah Montana's dad sang. ( Don't ask. >3> )

  • @Deranged Dog: It is tempting to buy Arizona Green Tea from the Dollar Tree/General/Store...but your post got me worried. Two...years?

    @Sayumei: Billy Ray Cyrus? xD You got me wondering now...

I have sent complaint letter to companies before. I also complained to store managers about service or employees that treated me badly. If I spent a lot of money on a product, such as my iPod, which broke in two months due to battery problems, I want my money back. There is no reason why the customer shouldn’t get their money back if they aren’t happy with their purchase.

The most I got was from the Milk Bone dog biscuit company. I bought a small box of dog treats for a dollar and they sent me $50 back because they were expired when I bought them. I also got a free iPod when it broke the first time, but it broke again and the people at the store refused to replace it. I’m writing a complaint to corporate about it though because the darn thing was $200 and the second one only lasted three months.

those warranties normally have catches. or shipping to return the item is way more than the refund you would even receive. so i've learned not even to bother with those types of warranties.

however that's not to say that i've never done it. i've had a life-time warranty (that lasts 4 years) on my gold class ring. It was stolen when our house was robbed, so I filed for the warranty and had a new one shipped to me (for a fee). That's when i discovered the warranty was only good for 4 years (if it is lost or stolen) and luckily it was only 3 years so I got a new one.

The "life time warranty" was only for resizing or defects. >.>;;
