@Eroy: My hubby currently lives in Florida.. i just moved back to NYC two months ago... i am living with mom and taking care of her.. i also became a nanny here too.. i was really lucky to find the job within one week of being here...^^ my hubby has a supervisor position that he just got in May... so he needs to be there atleast until April to complete a year...and he wants to get out of his personal debt too before coming to NYC and making our life up here.. since we want to buy a house like within the next two years..thats the only debt we want to make and we don't want past debts...you know? ^^
but i stil miss him.. we talk everyday..even when he is too tired to talk... he works two jobs actually so its even more tought on him to stay awake...he works approx 18 hours a day.. :\ just because he wants to get out of the debt quickly... when i was there.. he was working alot...but now that i am not there....its like he occupied his time normally spent with me to work..and he only goes home to sleep...he would go to his friends house sometimes..but now its like once in a blue moon.. they worry about him..and so do I...because he is pushing himself too much...he can't wait to get out of debt and move here with me.

Awe that's sad esmer...I hope everything will get better. That's how the guy that lives in Michigan is like...he works three part-time jobs and sleeps six hours a day.

Yeah it gets really tough for people like them... they become so overworked that they forget to relax sometimes.. my husband on ocassion would blame me for things that i have nothing to do with...all because he had a bad day.. almost everyday is a bad day for him.. but he is handling it a little better than in the beginning..

Wow, Esmereina...I do hope that once he gets the debts paid off and moves to NY with you that it hasn't put too much of a strain on your marriage.

Being separated like that for such a long time is not an easy thing for either of you. His pushing himself to work so hard for so long, when it comes time for him to relax, he may not know how to do that anymore, and could become a workaholic. That is the number one cause of my sister's breakup with her husband, the fact that her husband was a workaholic and was never home.

I do hope that you will consider at least investing in trips to be with him on holidays so you can at least see each other a little bit during this time of separation. It will help to ease the strain of being apart, I think.

@Fizali: Yeah ... ether he will come here for christmas..or i will come there...it depends on the situation at that time and which one of us has the money to do this. It's really hard .. i mean i have debt too...but mine isn't as big as his.. and mine was only because i bought my laptop after moving to NYC to take care of my mom.

It is hard..but i keep telling him to not get used to it because when he is here.. i will not allow him to have two jobs..and we need to settle our lives together here.. he agrees...although he is quite tired everytime we talk... but thats to be expected.. all i hear from his voice is tiredness...and he complains about his jobs everyday...he won't admit it..but i think he regrets making that investment...since now he is paying for it in more ways than one.

I am rather a patient girl..but there is a limit.. i hope and pray that my patience doesn't break toward the end.. >>;

Awww, well getting out of debt is a good thing, but not at the cost of your marriage. I hope he realizes that. It's good that you plan to see each other at Christmas, though, and yeah, hearing the tiredness in his voice is understandable.

If he pushes too hard, though, his performance in both his jobs will suffer, and that could be harmful as well. He really should consider taking a short break from work here and there even if it means a bit longer before he can get out of debt, just so he doesn't completely burn himself out.
