  I'm so bad at doing long texts, I'm pretty good at short stories but with stories, I really need to finish them in one go. Otherwise I'll forget about them and find it really hard picking up the thread again.

  (Not that I actually took all of them, getting your doctor to write a note to the teachers saying you can't is surprisingly easy..)
  
  When we go to the four-year-school I'm just going to call menntaskóli because that's easier we get to pick between three general courses, languages, natural and social science. Since I picked languages, I get two foreign languages along with English and Danish (and more of those two) and less of social and natural science courses. Took French and German, also took one semester of Icelandic Sign Language, one semester of Latin, a few in Italian and one in Japanese. I really want to learn more SL, it's so beautiful. I'd love to learn Spanish as well. (And more Japanes and Italian and German, and some Slavic languages, and more Swedish, and..)

  That is something many people say. It is quite hard to learn, but I think it always depends on the person learning and which languages they already know. Some people find it easy learning grammar, some people find it easy to learn vocabulary, etc. Icelandic does have quite difficult grammar and a vocabulary that is pretty unique, even for a Scandinavian language, mostly because we like making up new words for new things instead of just adopting words from other languages like other Scandinavian language tend to do (most apparent in Danish).
  We also have some weird pronounciations, but that's something most languages have. :Ð

aha I see. xD like I find english easy but that's only because I've lived in America my whole life and grew up with it >> but looking back at it, its a looot harder than spanish if you were learning it as a foreign language. I'm learning spanish right now in school and it comes pretty easy to me.. the grammar is pretty simple and the vocab is straight forward, not very many exceptions to the rule like there is in english. xP

• You know what the funny thing is?
  There are a lot of native English speakers that share your opinion that English is probably really hard as a foreign language. Most people that do speak English as a foreign language however seem to find it really easy, despite it being completely irregular and nonsensible in pronounciation.
  I don't know very much Spanish, although I can understand it based on my knowledge of Italian, Latin and English. It looks more similar to English than Italian though, in terms of vocabulary at least. And I've heard before that the grammar isn't very complex. Italian grammar is sort of complex, it has quite a bit of exceptions and stuff. I've forgotten all about the future tense and one of the past tenses. .__.

Hello anyone who's here ^^

ljos: haha really? xD well the only people I really know that learned english as a foreign language are my parents.. but I've never asked them about it or anything, huh. o-o my dad has a difficult time pronouncing some of the sounds but other than that, their grammar is flawless.

oh I see O: hm, I wouldn't know, considering I don't speak Italian. xD there are a few spanish and english cognates.. but not that many. its muuuuch closer to french. My friend's spanish is practically as good as mine (I'm in my 4th year right now) and he hasn't taken any bit of spanish in his life, only 6 years of french. xP Yeah, the grammar is pretty easy. You just have to learn different endings for stuff then memorize them. There are a few exceptions to everything of course, but they're usually pretty easy to pick out: if it sounds wrong and awkward when you say it, its probably an irregular. xP
