yeah, my hubby and I kept going back and forth about what to put in our tank. I warned him that we will eventually have a tank in each room. Luckily, he is totally okay w/that.

I'm a bit ticked off right now, though. I just bought 5 neons yesterday and now I only have 3. There are fishy remains in the tank that the others are working on but not enough to take back to the store to get my refund. I spent 2 bucks each on those stupid little fish! I only got them because my hubby likes them - I knew they weren't going to last...grrrr.

$2 is really expensive for neons! they can live for up to 10 years you know  hard to imagine for such a tiny creature.

that is expensive but I also work there so I get a 15% discount. That takes some of the sting off the price. Hopefully the remaining three will live up to 10 years - that would be really nice.

I have two beta fish, and I love them to death.

Oahu (Oh-wah-hoo) and Omega.

Neon are sensitive to PH change and need to be drip acclimated. I don’t like neons too much because they just die.

We had one fish... First it got seriously ill, then we bought medicine for it, it got better, then it died and mum flushed it down the toilet... It was mostly for my little brothers sake that we got it... Poor fish... It was pretty cute, but I don't think I could get really into aquatics or whatever... I'm not much of an animal person anyway, I prefer electronic devices ^^

I like fish and I love watching them, but I'm no good with keeping tanks clean and all that. I have a little betta fish that I named Daisuke, but I haven't cleaned the tank in .. well, honestly I don't even know how long it's been. It doesn't look too bad, though, and he's doing just fine. ^^;; I figure because of that, I won't get more than one fish at a time. There's no way I could ever take care of a fish tank that is any more than a gallon or two.

I had a couple of betas during college...Then I got a cat, so that was no more.

But I had a champion beta when I was a freshman and sophomore. His name was Sport, and boy! was he a sport! XD

He almost died two or three times, but always pulled back from the brink. I had entrusted a friend to take care of him while I was away, and when they changed his water, they forgot to put the chemicals in it to clean it for his poor lil gills. T_T So when I got home, he was floating! But I changed his water, chemicalized it and plopped him back in there, and he came back to life!!

Remember people, change your water regularly and be sure to condition it! You wouldn't want to swim around in your own crap, would you?

That’s exactly what I tell people all the time. Plus dirty water is a breeding ground for fungus and bacterial infections. Tap water is also a big no no to use too in my opinion.

I'm not really that into aquatics... I had some sea monkeys once and I've had a few Siamese Fighting fish over the years.. My cousin, Chris, and my uncle, Jimmy, have some really big salt waterfish tanks though. They are cool to look at when I go over to their house. I don't think that it's something that I would do on my own though. I prefer mammals I guess. hehe

I'm more of a mammal person, but I've had fish.

I had a huge goldfish thing once named Wrong Rainbow (he was black, white, gray, and orange). He was awesome...but he clogged my toilet when he died.

I had a bunch of Comets (Comet, Japanese Flag, Long Tail, and Short Ffin, just to name a few). Short Fin died rather quickly, and I only had Long Tail for a few months. Japanese Flag lasted for almost a year, and I had Comet from pretty much the day I started my tank, and he was my last fish to die (I guess I had him for 3 or so years).

I had a ton of Bala Sharks (I think that's what they're called). I used to keep them with my goldfish and comets and the like, and they survived pretty well. I think they're considered tropical though...oops.

Fantails are purty. Prince and Princess...I think they were my only ones.

I've also had a plethora of goldfish. My first 3 were Pepper, Goldie, and Blackie. Pepper died in like a day, but the others were pretty long lasting. [Chocolate] Chip, Old House, and Creamsicle were a few.
