Yeah it's okay. She's just freaking out because she told me that I need to save up money for car insurance and a car, and she thinks I don't care about it and I'm more wanting to buy clothes, a laptop, etc. which I'm not. She doesn't get when I say I want something, I'm not going to buy it...o well.

I work at Kmart and I'm a cashier, but I'm going to talk to my boss about switching into softlines. =]

Yeah. I just don't like how my mom said she was going to help me get a car, then today she turned around and told me that I have to get my car myself and pay for my own insurance because that's what she did. I only make minimum wage, it's not enough.

Yeah, it's okay being a cashier, but I'd rather work softlines because being a cashier is a bit stressful sometimes. =O

That's a tough situation.

My mom did something like that to me when I was younger.
She pushed me into getting my first summer job a few years ago and swore that she would be able to drive me to it, etc..
She drove me for the first week and then told me that she didn't have time and I'd have to find someone else to get me and pay them for gas. o_O
It just wasn't worth it for a minimum wage job like that and it was a really awkward position to be put into at fourteen.

But yeah, it sucks when people don't follow through on what they say and leave you with more responsibility than you expected.

I hope that things work out with your car.
I'm just lucky that my dad pays for mine.

That's really not very nice...what your mom did. My mom would never do that to me.

I'm glad that you live with someone who actually helps you out more.

Yeah, my parents almost got divorced, but they are living together again. Yay my family is back together! But since like august of '07, they would fight, my dad would leave, and then a week later, he would come back, and they would go out and talk, and be back together. Then the whole process would start up again: dad leaving, coming back and talking with my mom, and living with us again, and then leaving once more. It never ended. They are dumb and I told them their relationship was biopolar. lol But they have been together for 2 1/2 weeks. Let's see if this time they stay together. =O

My parents always tell me that "school is my job" during the school year and I don't need anymore distractions.

I don't think that my mother did it to be mean or anything.
She just tends to push herself and others to do things that aren't really practical.
She gets super excited about doing something big for a week and then she just loses interest and flakes out...

My mother has gone to like eight colleges in her lifetime and never finished a degree.
She has had more jobs than I can count.
She is an extremely hard worker, but she just gets discouraged and interested in other things really frequently.

She always did it with my sister and I, too.
She would sign us up for some random activity, telling us how great it would be and then take us out of it a few weeks later and move on to something else.

I hope that things work out this time, too.
It would be wonderful if they could resolve things between each other.
