yep, that is the easier route as long as you can handle the subject at that level... which in my opinion wasn't too hard... well, i didn't do that, but i took calc in the summer and it was fine... XD
i chose not to do it while in high school cuz i had no means of getting to the nearest city college by bus and be ontime to class... >.>

<3 my school had that program, but my high school english teacher advised all of us against going that route so no one did. But by the time I was a senior and understood the program better I was so annoyed at her for planting the idea that it was bad in our heads. </3 It would have been free college! I could have handled the classes and gotten the credit and had more then my associates already. >.> and the school paid for your books! XD *shot*
I took the lit one. like 4 years ago. XD it was decent enough. I passed with a 4. the only ap exam I didn't pass was ap us history because the class bored me to such a degree that paying attention was hard. >.> I got a 2. </3

well, it wasn't a program, it's just that we could register for classes on our own and take the classes in our own time... ^^;
well, depending on the age and student... there are students that i wouldn't advise to go... just cuz college teachers don't really force you to go to class, nor will they be reminding you to do your homework, and if you fail, you fail... there's no summer school to make it up... i mean you can still take summer school, but then the grade is permanent in you records... and if you don't understand anything, you don't really have time to ask in class, you have to go to office hours, which is mostly when you have your regular high school... so unless the student's a really good, self-motivated student... i probably wouldn't suggest it either... ^^; also, just a reminder, most people in those classes are 18+... and sometimes, even 21+... so if the student is still only 15-16, this may cause some dangerous situations...
so if i were preaching to a whole class, i would suggest no... but i guess if certain individuals come up to me, then it depends on the student... ^^;

@miyu. xD
college was right up the street for me. xD
yeah they suggest not to take certain classes like math, as high school math is not the same as college math. >> even if both are cal. (though some kids in my high school had to take it cause they advanced too far and yeah. >> they still needed math credits)
Stuff like english 100 was pretty easy. xD It isn't for everyone. But I loved it, I got to leave school early and everything!

Scares me to find out the incoming freshman sometimes have enough hours to be sophomores and juniors. *came in as a freshman* 8D

I took studio art AP...then didn't submit my portfolio. Several times during the year, the other art students got into my drawer and vandalized my works. D<
...teacher had to put a lock on the drawers...

Tori- That's horrible! I would have started carrying around my portfolio constantly. lol. <3
Miyu- true. But a lot of us were pretty mature. I think I was 16 when the program was offered to us. But I think it was a good thing that I didn't go. >.> It allowed me to get to know Scott better. <3 So it all worked out in the end for the best, but getting the college credits would have been nice. *sigh*

You can't get the best things everytime~
but hey! You can still study, is it not?
Or does the college require you to study one more year for basic and such?

based on the number of credits you have.
like I have enough credits to be considered to be a sophmore cause I took running start and had about 12-15 credits before I even started college.

that plays some part.
sometime it goes the other way around. >>
like my teammate been in college for about 6 years now, but is considered to be a freshman/sophomore in engineering department because she changed her major. Even though she's got enough credits to be a senior.
