Her body lowered then finally sat limp against the glass in the bottom of the tank.
"Tucker, will you?"
Out of the shadows, the 9foot beast, Shao Tucker came into view and whispered:
"Of course." He pushed a series of buttons and the tank fuuushed open and Kiri fell out into his furry arms. He walked up to me and I only looked up at him; in awe and bewilderment. I was speechless.

Edward's lip curled into a snarl.
"And still you tried to kill her? Wow, that's real nice Roy. If you knew everything that Shiba knew about her, why did you think she was going to be a threat? She was like a child." He whirled without his answer and stared at the moving darkness, his hands clenching as Tucker emerged.
"Tucker..." He snarled, his body urged him to race forward and finish what he started all those years ago...but he stayed his hand when he took Kiri into his arms.
"What end will this serve Roy? What do you hope to gain by doing this?"

His empy, and sad eyes looked to Ed.
"As you were protective of Shiba, I am to my men. She could not stay alive knowing the power she held. Child, yes, and when she threw a tantrum, everyone around her knew it..."
Tucker's face was in shadow; only the sheen on his glasses were seen, and his upside down smile as Edward said his name.
"Hello Edward, long time no see. Is it me, or did you get taller?"
Roy cleared his throat, pointing Ticker to go into the waiting room next door.
"Completing this will go to show that alchemy is not limited to bringing life back. It is the next big step in this alchemic region. I thought hyou would like to be apart of it... Im sure Shiba would like so." I groweled and hastily walked up to him, and got into his face.
"You have to promise me something when this is over, successful or not."
He nodded.
"I am a man of my word."
I turned and walked up to Ed and lifted his shirt, and unclipped the pocket watch from the loop on his pants. I walked back and raised it, so it swung between our faces.
"You will release Edward from your ball and chain."
He looked to Ed, not knowing if this is what he wanted.
"WITH 200,000$ as a departure gift, for doing his best in the military all these years, of course."
A silence. Then, he pointed to a door, where Tucker took kiri.
"shall we?" Roy said.
I looked to Ed, not knowing how to reactg to all of this... Ed had ever fully told me of the story of his mother, but why would he bring her up? This was kind of different, Kiris soul would have a body to return to...right?

"And you only served to set her off." He murmured.
With a snarl he looked to Tucker.
"Shut your mouth." He snapped.
"I never wanted to see your face again, but it seems I'm cursed with people like you...those who tend to outlive their purpose."
Edward stood silent as he watched Shiba negotiate his release and he smiled when she looked back.
"Shiba....." He said softly, smiling.
"You're such a dork....Thank you."
He turned and followed after the huge Chimera that held Kiri and shrugged.....The only thing that was left was to do as Roy asked....though no simple task...it was better than standing there talking.

[LOL it wasnt supposed to sound like she was hypnotizing him, she was very serious, but i guess you read it that way by Eds reaction LOL]

He groaned.
"As did you, by burting in on the ladies here and there while they bathed..."
I blushed, gripping his chin.
"Hush now, I know ALOT about you that im sure you wouldnt like to me to divulge..."
He gulped and straightened out his collar and led the way.
"Edward is free, after this expierement. But Kiri, will not be free. She is mine."

Roy went into the large, dark room next door. Five red water tanks at every point of the star that was glowing in red on the floor, in the transmutation circle made out, just for this moment. Roy folded his arms.
"If there need to be any changes to the circle, do it now using the red water to make your changes." He pointed to a bowl of it on the side. 6th row, second one In.
Tucker had placed the nude child of the lifeless Kiri in the center and stepped back, his paws folded in anticipation.

((no I knew she wasn't trying to hypnotize him, Ed was just calling her a dork because here they are facing their dead friend and she still wants him out of the Military XDD I just thought it was kind of funny the way she was dealing with Roy.

Edward entered the room, sickened for only a moment at the memory of Lab 5 and the inner workings of the red water there..he looked back to Shiba a quizzical look on his face.
"Are you sure?" He asked her quietly, moving to her side, and taking her hand.

I looked to him and nodded, our faces glowing from the red.
"I think, if we dont, Roy will only tighten your chain, and will just find another way to manipulate us into doing it. This way, we can get Kiri back, if it works, and get him off our tail, get you off the ball and chain AND have enough for a home." I squeezed his hand, I leaned in closer to him.
"I love you, and I believe in you. When we do this... I want you to ONLY think and do what you did when you placed Al's soul into the armor. I will summon it, you will place it, use a binding seal if you must, but I dont think it will be necessary." I spoke of revivals like an expert; because I was, on animals, NOT humans.
Roy waited patiently, Tucker took a seat in the corner, but still watched.

He nodded and took his place near the circle, his eyes wavering over the small pallid frame that lay there before them.
"I hope this works..." His stomach was in knots, he didn't ever want to face that hideious door again....but this would be the only way to revive Kiri and appease the Flame Alchemist...and so he would play God for a second time....and hope that the result was well.

"IS THE CIRCLE RIGHT, EDWARD? If its wrong it may not work..."
I grunted and picked up the bowl. Of course he didnt draw it right... it had to look like this.
"there...now were ready." I looked to the lifeless Kiri and made a silent promise to her.
"Whether you return or not... i love you all the same...."
I went to the opposite side to where Ed stood and got on my knees. I looked across to him.
"Ready?"

Edward shook his head. He didn't know...
"This isn't the kind of circle that we used on Mom....I'm not sure.."
Edward nodded, taking a knee himself and readying his hands....it was now or never.

"The one used on your mother was, and had to be different; you used material for her body, not an actual one. Its different."
I took a deep breath, and keeping my eyes locked with Ed's, i clapped and slammed my hands to the edge of the circle...

Edward's hands hit the cold ground the same time as Shiba's, then everything started to happen....it...it didn't feel quite like that night, but..it was near enough, something didn't want to relenquish it's hold on Kiri's spirit, he focused and kept his eyes locked on the small body, willing the soul into it, Shiba said he wouldn't have to use a binding seal, but it would still take a bit of work to make the soul stay in the body.
Please... he begged nothing in particular.

My body jolted at the hit of the concrete, i closed my eyes and focused hard... inside the gate...I was nude...and in pain. I looked about. Where are you.... Only unfamiliar eyes stared, hands touched me everywhere... it hurt at times... then... in the coldest, blackest corner of the blackness full of empty stares, came the soft eyes of the little sister I once knew. I outstretched my hand to her, and she reluctantly put her hand in mine. I pulled her to her feet and retreated.
My body, in the real world, was frozen, eyes shut hard, breathing had stopped. Roy watched in awe, and horror at the same time and finally, I screamed aloud, reawakening, slamming my hands to the childs chest. My face was drenched in sweat.
"EDWARD, NOW!" i yelled, pleadingly looking into his eyes. Tucker's mouth was ajar.
"Amazing that just a child could do this..." he whispered to himself.

((Yes, Scar is Pwnsome. XDD But I'm just baised. Orly? HEEYYY!!! *waves* ))

Edward heard Shiba's cry and echoed with his own.
"RIGHT!" He pulled at the strings that bound soul to gate and jerked them his way, he brought them toward the small body and alchemically jammed them inside, forcing soul and flesh to merge.
He let out a final cry, feeling all of his energy drain keeping the two peices to Kiri's puzzle ground together and then collapsed onto the cold ground. The light that he and Shiba had created by the trasmutation faded, leaving his face pale and dripping with sweat.
"Shi...Shiba?" He asked meekly looking over at where she was.
"Did...did it work?"

Blackness.....that was all....
"Am I...Am I dead?"

"Who..Who's there?"

"Me? Are...are you calling...me?" The last thing that the she could remember, for it was shaped like a female though being nothing but a soul, was...was people crying over her.....something had went wrong with the last time that she saw the man in white....she felt her body dying..but that couldn't be....because here she was....alive...
"I'm here." She said, her voice soft, barely audible.
"I'm here, who called me?" She started to rise, but her body felt heavy.
"Momma?" She looked around, seeing nothing but dark figures and a red light.
"Daddy? Shane?..Are you there?"

Giving the soul reassurance, it stayed, and Ed did his part, I finally fell to the ground beside the tiny body, panting, and drenched in sweat.
"I...dont know..." I brethed to him, unable if he heard me or not. I was too weak to lift my head; my heart raced inside my body, my head pounded, my eyes were heavy and all grew dark as I finally gave into just laying there.
"Shiba? Edward? Are you two alright?" Roy asked, looking through the smoke and fading crackles of red alchemy lightning.
"Did it work?" Tucker whispered as loud as he could.
I was too weak to lift my head, so with my remaining strength I dragged it to look at the girl. I wasnt sure if the small sound I had just heard were from her; my voice was silent.

((Whoot, like I said, this is going to be fffuuuuuunnnnnn XDDD))

"Where am I?" The small voice echoed louder, fearful now that her eyes had adjusted.
"MOMMA!" She looked down and saw Shiba, and screamed.
"MOMMAAAAA!!!!" Wriggling out from under Shiba, and racing out of the circle, the child hid in amongst boxes in the back, sobbing.
"Where am I?" She bawled.
"What happend to me!? I WANT MY MOMMAAAA!!!" Edward rose to his knees and scooted over to Shiba.
"I think....I think she's back....but...now the question is...does she remember us? Or will she remember us? That's a better question."

I smiled, closing my eyes, hearing the girl alive was assuring.
"It worked..." I said weakly to noone. I looked with heavy eyes to Ed's knees.
"Give her time...she will, I think."
Tucker almost jumped out of his skin as the child ran past him. He ran up to Roy.
"Could I have them do my little Nina? Please?"
Roy lowered his eyes.
"Not until I see her." He walked to the boxes and kneeled down.
"Kiri? Come on out, I wont hurt you." He had to think of a mother replacement, quick. he then saw Shiba in the clearing smoke.
"Your Momma is right over there." he pointed to me; I didnt know.

"NO!" Came the sharp cry.
"You're not a nice man!"

Edward snickered.
"She remembered that much at least."

She had been in the middle of crying until Edward had spoken, but slowly the sniffling and crying died down and two bright blue eyes poked over the top of a box in the back and looked out.
"......." She looked down....there on her hand....the mark remained...just like it had for such a long time...or so she heard a voice whisper to her.
"....." She looked back to Edward and Shiba and blinked once, twice, and then again.
"I......I know you....don't I?" She asked hesitantly.

He flinched at her cry to him and he cleared his throat. He didnt want to use force on her at all, just in case her powers were still there...

I curled into a ball on the ground, still where I had fell, weary, body aching all over from the gate... I shivered here and there, but still sweat. My heart had finally slowed, and breathing regulated, but my body was still too weak to sit up on its own.
"Edward?" I squeaked out.
"Can you hold me up? My body... it hurts so much..."

((I HAD HIM!! I HAD THAT SUCKER!!! But....I lost him T^T Stupid roach...))

Edward nodded and lifted Shiba against him, he brushed her hair out of her eyes and kissed the top of her head as it lay against him.
"Better?" He asked. He looked over at the haunting orbs that stared out of the corner at the two of them and shivered at the resemblance.
"....You...do you know our names Kiri?"
The child blanched at being addressed and slowly nodded. She pointed to Shiba and paused a moment before answering.
"....Shi............Big Sister...Shi...ba..." She answered brokenly.
"And...you're......you're....Metal...." She cocked her head looking at him hard like she knew that was wrong...but she couldn't find the right answer.
"No.....Ed...Edward?" She asked.
"That's right, Shiba and Edward...that's us Kiri."
"Kiri............is that me?"
Edward nodded.
"Edward......can I go home? These people.....they scare me..." She ducked down under the boxes again and refused to come out.

I smiled slightly as his hand touched my face, then.. his lips. I was happy that he wasn't at all shy about kissing me like that in front of Roy.
I remained quiet as the child remembered us.
Roy just stared as Tucker ran off to get Nina.
"Ed... I dont think Roy will let us take her... shes an expierement..." I whispered into his shoulder.
"Honey, im not a bad man. Please, come here." Roy tired again.

"I know, I know.." He said kissing her fingertips.
"But what else can we do? I'd hate to see her starve back there after all that work we did to bring her back."

Kiri snapped at Roy's fingers.
"NO! You ARE bad! You want to take Shane away from me! You want to take Shiba away from me! You want to leave me alone! I don't have anyone else so why don't you just go AWAY!" She huddled into the corner and growled her little child growl, staring out at Roy like a feral animal. Edward cocked his head...Shane?
"Kiri?"
"What?"
"Who is Shane?" There was a pause, then slowly the blonde head peeked back over the box.
"Shane is my brother...he doens't look like me, but Momma and Daddy say that's just because I was sick a lot...He's got the nicest red eyes though."
"Uh oh..." Edward sighed.
"I was afraid this was going to happen...Her memories are going to overlap for a bit before they all get straightend out...who knows how long that could be."

[LOL agreed.]

I blushed as his lips ran over my fingers and I looked to Roy.
"Roy, obviously she doesnt want to be with you, so maybe she should stay with us until she's well?"
His eyebrows lowered.
"I dont think that would be a good idea, she may never want to come back..."
"Its the only way to get her to cooperate. Lend her to us and we will take good care of her."
He sighed looking to the feral child and nodded.
"One week."
I nodded and looked up at Edward.
"we'll teach her good, and we can be a family..." I said, trying to move my arm, but still to weak to move anything.
"Kiri?" I said as loud as I could.
"Come... give me a hug... I've missed you...so much..." My eyes filled and fell with tears of joy and pain. I waited for her.

Kiri's head popped over the top of the boxes, and she looked past Roy to Shiba and Edward.
"......." She rolled her eyes over to Roy and hissed, hopping out from behind the crates and racing to Shiba, falling into her arms and hugging her tightly.
"Shiba!!" She cried. Edward sighed and lay his coat over the child and wrapped it around her, as much as she would allow. Her arms refused to detach from Shiba's waist.
"He was trying to take you away again! Just like the last time! But-But I didn't let him! That jerk can't have my Sister!" Edward smiled and shook his head.
"Typical pet." He mused.
"Are you going to be alright with the Bug hanging on you like that?" He asked.
"Or do you want me to carry you?"

I smiled, letting her hug me and i looked to Edd tiredly.
"I cant move my body.... I need to rest for a while, the period of time I was in the gate really took it out of me... Im sorry." I looked to Kiri and just smiled; her innocence the same.
"Kiri, Edward and I are together. he's my friend, so be nice to him. And Edward..." I flashed a serious eye to him.
"What did I tell you about calling her 'bug?' shes not a bug and as far as we know shes not a... you know."
Roy sighed and went to my side.
"Let me help you out.... the lest I can do is help you...then let him go.." he said, with a saddened look in his eyes. He put his arm under my left and heaved me to my feet; he did his best to ignore the child.
"Where to?" He asked, looking to Edward.
