I shrugged as the waiter came by and picked up my plate and refilled my drink.
"Ed... do... you not want me looking at you..? Or daydreaming about you... and us...? Don't... you ever think about me...?"
In all my life I could never figure out how a mans mind worked. Ive seen plenty of them naked, while I painted them, but still... it was like their heads were full of hot air most of the time, and I couldn't figure them out for the life of me.

"What a cute and unique name. Mine's Winry, and I'm an automail mechanic with my grandma." As she approached the house, Den ran to the door and scratched on it.

"Ah...N-NO! I-I mean that's not it at all...it's..." He scratched behind his head and looked down, hoping he didn't scare the waiter...after all that outburst came right after he'd turned around to walk away.
"I...what I mean is...I..don't really know why you want to look...I mean...I'm not really anything special...you know?"

"Auto....mail?" Kiri rolled the word around on her tounge and thought over it carefully.
"I'll at least remember Winry." She said happily a moment later.
"That's easy!"

[Sorry last one.. I have a big day tomorrow. g'night]

I only smiled at his shyness.
"Anything special?" I leaned in, looking very seriously into his eyes.
"Edward... youre the first boy I had ever fallen in love with... the first person I trusted since my parents died... I'd say youre pretty special..." I whispered, my eyes kind of glinting, as I leaned back into my seat.
"I...love you and admire you so much..." i simply said, looking at the grains in the table.

She laughed and nodded, looking back to the child who finally seemed...happy.
"Well, Im gonna make dinner, you can come inside if you want. I have a friend who you may like to meet." she smiled as she opened the screen door and Dem ferociously darted inside.

Edward blushed and looked up through his bangs.
"...I...I love you too." He squeaked out.

Kiri stepped hesitantly inside, like a cat who was sniffing around it's surroundings for the first time.
"Oh really?" She asked.
"Who is this friend?"
"Winry I can't find mai--" Alphonse stopped at the bottom of the stair.
"What the.." He started..but suddenly his throat felt dry and his tounge stuck to the roof of his mouth.
"Winry....where did she come from!?"

"Enough of the shyness." I said sternly.
"And lets get off this topic since it seems to scare you. What are the plans when we get back to the hotel?" I said, sipping my drink.
"Im getting tired of looking for Kiri, maybe I should just go to Roy now and take the state alchemist exam and get it over and done with.." i scoffed, looking away.
"Trying to find that girl in this city, or in this world, is like finding a needle in a haystack."

Winry was quite shocked at Alphonse' response to the child as she put her arm around her shoulder and knelt down beside her. She waved him over.
"Alphonse, this is Kiri. Kiri, this is my close friend Alphonse, but you can call him Al if you want." she said, smiling to her. She looked up at Al.
"I found her trying to sleep in some bushes, I think she may have gotten separated from her family. She looks hungry and I'd be more than happy to fill her little belly" She grinned, looking to Kiri.

Edward 'meeped' and nodded.
"A-alright." he said numbly.
He thought about that a minute and sighed.
"I guess we get some rest and then head back out."He glared over his steak and blew harshly through his nose.
"Shiba, no. You can't do that, I'm sure she's going to turn up and then we won't have to worry about Roy or anyone else...I'm sure of it."

Alphonse stood there in front of the small child and she smiled up at him.
"Hi Al." She said with all familiarity.
"Oh wait...you were Tin Man wern't you?" She squeed and crawled back up onto his shoulders.
"I like you much better this way." She nodded.
"Much better."

I sat back in my seat, my chest almost coming out of my top; at this point I really didnt care, I was full, happy, but dieing to get out of this tight get-up. I nodded in agreement.
"Rest, right on."
I closed my eyes.
"At this point, im just not sure anymore... im afraid Roy will come down on us hard if we dont find her soon."

[how the HELL did she know it was him?!]

Winry only smiled to see they were hitting it off and went to the kitchen to make up some burgers; she was sure tired of Granny's stew, but would never tell her so.
"So Kiri, where yah from?" She said over the sizzling of hamburger.

((AH, she's getting her memories back remember, it's a little screwed up, but she can still remember him, besides, it's not like his voice is going to change that much ^^))

Edward nodded and leaned back.
"Roy...he was a little pissy today wasn't he?" He muttered.
"Oh well...no matter, if we head out of the city tomorrow then we shouldn't have to worry about him for a while...it's not like he'd come with us right?"

"Here and there." Came the reply.
Al just looked at her there in the living room after he'd peeled her off his shoulders.
"How...why...where?" Was all he could manage.
"I dunno." Kiri whispered quietly.
"I was....not here...and then...I woke up in a basement with Ane and Ed.." She looked away then and sighed.
"Mustang was there as well...and...I couldn't stay there anymore. I won't be staying here long either, so if you would wait till I'm gone..then call Ane in North City and let her know I'm alright?"

I shook my head.
"I have a feeling he wont let us leave..." I sighed, looking over my soldier at the blue suited man at the bar, looking over his shoulder at us.
"He's been spying on us, so we can't leave.."

Winry didnt hear any of the conversation they were having, she merely cooked on huming to her favorite song playing on the radio nearby.

((GAH!!! I still feel like I'm rushing around trying to do stuff, CRAP! I need to put that up on FLICKR too >.< More stuff that I gotta do....Le sigh))

Edward looked over, not even trying to hide the fact.
"Gah....not this crap again.." He sighed and let his hand fall in his palm.
"I'm going to have to have a word with the Colonel about having us shadowed...it doesn't work out well."
"Winry!!" Kiri shot into the kitchen and hopped up into a chair.
"Ne, ne, that smells really good! How long before it's done!?"

I sighed and shook my head.
"I have a feeling Kiri isnt in the city anymore and he's not gonna buy the face that 'oh were going to Risembool, or North City to find her'. I know he'll send someone to assist us, i was in his mind, I know how well he thinks. We should just cooperate..."

She laughed, looking back to the girl as she flipped the burgers.
"About 15 minutes, and itll be ready. You wanna help?" She handed her a spon.
"Stir them noodles for me."

Edward sighed, with a raspberry thrown in there for exhasperation.
"Fine, we go talk to Mustang first thing in the morning..." He smiled and then offered her his hand.
"But for now...I say we head back, that sound good to you?" He fished out his wallet after a moment and paid the bill, standing with a stretch.

"Yeah!" Kiri took the spoon and drug her chair over to the stove, holding back her sleeve as she dipped the spoon in stirring the hot water and noddles round and round, smiling all the while. Alphonse watched her as he leaned in the doorway, and wondered...what it was...no..why it was that she was back...this didn't bode well for any of them if too many people saw her...

[OHH i like, who is it?]

I nodded and stood with him, letting him take my hand, after pulling up my top first. I stood about 7 inches taller than him in these heels.. I had hoped he wasn't too embarrassed. I stretched quickly and let him lead the way, as any man should.

Winry laughed, looking over at her as she prepared the buns, opening them up to flop the meat into them.
"Alright, the burgers are ready, wanna take these to the table to cool down while I finish the noodles?"

"We'll probably have to get over there early to make any time tomorrow." Edward sighed.
"I'm just worried about who he's going to send with us."

"Kay!" Kiri scooted off her chair laying the plate on the seat and dragging it back to the table where she'd got it, putting the plate on the top.
"You seem happy." Al observed.
"Why not?" Kiri asked back.
"I'm....alive aren't I? Who's happy to be dead..." Her eyes wavered a moment and grew kind of misty as if they meant to cry.
"People...need to be happy....to survive..."

I nodded.
"Why do i get a feeling it will be Lieutenant Armstrong...?" I said as we left the resturant into the cool night air. The sun has set and the street lights turned on. I looked to him.
"Now what?" I looked to the clock; it was 10pm.

Winry listened closely as she turned off the radio.
"Well now, dinner is all done!" she said as she put the pot on the table and served the burgers and noodles.
"I agree Kiri. We all need to just get over the hardships and move on in life to stay happy and healthy." she smiled as she took her seat.

"Eh!?" He stopped and shuddered.
"I hope not...." He followed her gaze and sighed.

"See!?" She turned with a smile and stuck her tounge out.
"Even Winry agrees, so you should be happy too!" Kiri jumped over and pushed Al into a seat next to her and turned to grin up at him.

I shrugged.
"Not that I can think of; Im not that familiar with this city. What about you?" I looked down to him.

Winry only smiled looking to them and ate silently. Even Den was eating his hard food as we sat down.

Kiri poked at her food....she'd never really ate anything like this before....so she wasn't sure how humans would react....her senses were still....off...

I looked down at him, placing my hand on his shoulder.
"Well, we can always enjoy each others company at... the hotel... and then some..." I gave him a grin and puffed out my chest.
"Ill even let you unzip me" I teased.


Winry looked to Kiri and cocked her head to the side.
"Is there something wrong? Dont you like cheeseburgers?" She said, looking into the childs eyes.
"I can make you something else, if you want?"

Edward squeezed her hand.
"Hmmmm...sounds fun."

Kiri looked up and shook her head.
"Oh no, this is great...just...I can't......really taste it...that's all." Hopefully that really didn't sound as weird as she thought it did.

My eyebrows shot right up and I stared at him.
"Stop teasing me back... I know you wont try anything... you havnt got the guts." I looked forward as I started the walk towards the hotel down the street.

Winry smiled and stood, walking to the fridge then placed some items on the table.
"Well, heres some pickles, and mustard, and mayonayse and ketchup. Mayve some of that will help." She smiled, seemingly feeling like she has failed to make this child feel at home and at ease.

"Oh won't I?" Edward grabbed her around the waist and held her close....it was almost comical considering the height differences, but still.
"I'd...I'd like to at least..." He flushed pink and smiled behind her.
"Could we at least sleep together again?" He asked softly.

Kiri looked at all the stuff in front of her. She looked at Winry and then back at the stuff.
"okay." She then layered her burger with it all, first pickles, then mustard, then mayo and ketchup, and then she started the process over until there were about three layers of her concoction.
"That should do it." She said happily, taking a messy bite.

I shook my head, then flung sideways from a grip around my waist and I looked down at him, turning as red as my dress.
"You'd... like to? Like to what... exactly...?" I looked to him, as we entered the hotel's main entrance. I looked to him and nodded.
"I wouldn't want it any other way."

Winry watched as the child made it better, and she added condiments to her burger as well.

Edward smiled and held the door for Shiba.
"I'm glad."

"Wow...you really couldn't taste it could you?" Alphonse observed.
