He smiled.

"If you go here.." Pinako handed Winry a basket of leftovers that she'd gathered for later.
"You're going to get hungry on that train ride, so take it." Kiri and Alphonse stood, and she looked up at him.
"You'll be alright." He whispered.
"Don't worry so much."

She smiled at granny and bowed.
"Thank you... I look forward to it." I smiled at Al and Kiri, ready to go.
"Lets get going then!" Patting Den on the head on the way out, she swung open the door and headed for the train station about half a mile away. It was a beautiful, cool sunny morning, the walk would be nice.

Kiri shot Alphonse a resigned look and then followed out behind Winry, Al taking the rear waving goodbye to Pinako.

Boarding the train, Winry sat down and patted the seat across from her.
"Have you ever been on the train before, Kiri?" She asked sweetly.

Kiri leapt into the seat slamming her face against the glass of the window.
"Wow! This is a train! Aniki and I used to take one occasionally, but we were always in the back, around the cargo..." And before she'd realized it....she'd said more than she'd planned.
Alphonse smacked his face while putting their carryons above their heads, and Kiri clamped her hands over her mouth, silently cursing herself and her lack of composure.

Winry only giggled, seeing the child in her be fascinated with the world outside the train.
"Cargo huh? Stowaways? Alphonse was one of them, right? with the sheep?" She started to laugh hysterically, holding her sides.
"No problems with being a stow away though, tickets can get expensive, I bet your brother was doing his best for you." She only guess it was her brother, she could tell she was uncomfortable about what she had said. She sent a reassuring smile to her, then to Alphonse.

"Oh...right....Alphonse..." Kiri sent a worried look towards said Tin-Can and he smiled, his face was assuring that Winry had no idea what she was talking about and Kiri let out a sigh of relief.
"Doing his best?" She asked cocking her head.
"I suppose....though....it always seemed that he was always doing that....always...looking out for me..and never himself...." She glanced out the window.
"Big jerk..." Alphonse sighed, crossing his legs, and leaning back, sitting beside Winry.
"You ought to know, that's how big brother's always are.." He sighed, thinking about Ed.

Winry nodded as the train began its journey towards Central. She folded her arms.
"Well, most big brothers put themselves before the younger one...well, that's how its supposed to be, anyway." She smiled, crossing her legs like Al.
"Ed made an awesome big brother... sacrificing his life like he did to get your body back... he was a true...sibling." She smiled at him warmly, running a finger over the top of his hand.

"Yeah....sacrificing....." Alphonse placed his hand ontop of Winry's....thinking who'd really given their bodies back to them...and she was sitting across from the two...
"Edward....?" Kiri said...knowing full well who she was asking about...but she at least had to make up for that last outburst.

Winry blushed as his hand laid atop of hers and she glanced over at him and smiled again, then turnt her gaze to Kiri.
"Yeah, Edward is Al's older brother. He's two years older than him, making him 18. He's kinda short... but really nice, when he wants to be, and used to have metal arm, but got it back recently. It's...kind of a long story" She laughed a little and yawned, crossing her other leg.

BANG BANG BANG
I lifted myself off the bed, being careful as not to wake up the still sleeping Edward and put a robe on, whoever it was, didn't need to see me in my PJ's.
I cracked it open and looked out. A stern black eye stared in.
"Still asleep?" came the colonials voice.
I nodded wearily.
"It's 12:30 in the afternoon. Ill give you two 15 minutes to be out here. Ill be waiting in the lobby."
I grunted and shut the door and looked over t Edward, who was snoring quietly to himself.

"I...I see." She said.
"Perhaps....Ed..ward could tell me how he got his arm back...when I meet him." She only hoped she didn't meet him with Winry in tow...that..would be awkward.

Edward shuffled in his sleep through the noise, and rolled onto his back, scratching his stomach with a yawn.
"....Mmmnnnnnnbunnyrabbitstakingmycereal....." he snuffled rising to sit up.
"Shiba...." He said through a yawn.
"Who was that?"

Winry smiled and nodded happily.
"I'm sure he wouldn't mind if he told one more his story." She sighed, looking out the passing by river, with some fisherman in it.
"I hope we get there soon... feels like forever since Ive seen him..." her eyes were clouded over with thoughts as she leaned her chin on her palm and gazed out the window at the passing by world.

I looked to him and smiled.
"Your master." I said simply, hanging the robe up on the bathroom door and undressing from my night clothes.
"We have 15 minutes to get out to see him in the lobby. I...think our time is up." I said, looking to him worriedly, as i wiggled into my jeans.

".....yeah..." The closer she got, the more antsy Kiri was....she knew what was waiting on her....she knew what might....what very well COULD happen to her...but Death wasn't something she was afraid of anymore...she knew of her life after this one, at long last her memories shifting back into place.
"Why...did they have to give me this body.." She muttered to the window.
"I could have done more when I was older..."

Edward sighed and flopped back.
"Damnit..." He groaned out..
"What the hell does he want from us!? BLOOD!?" Nevertheless, Edward rose...and dressed, it would be much better for him if he just took his punishment like a man instead of running away..damnit...why couldn't Kiri have done the same....
....why? because she wasn't thinking about anything....nothing came across her mind, other than the fear Roy instilled in her...he sighed...she might have been very well within her rights to run away....it was the Colonel's fault for bringing her back in the first place.

"He wants Kiri, you know that.." I said, looking over my shoulder at him as I pulled on my shirt and packed my things.
"We... will never have our freedom, while Kiri has hers." I muttered, not sure if he had heard me. I pulled on my shoes and stood, stretching my back and looked to him.
"Ready?" I said, reaching my hand out to him.

"Yeah..." He sighed.
"I hope the little brat's happy wherever she is.." He muttered adjusting his jacket before opening the door.

The hallway light was not friendly to my still asleep eyes and I looked out. Roy sat in the lobby as Armstrong and Havoc stood at his side. Armstrong saw me come out and waved. I waved back and walked out, taking Ed's hand in mine as I went on.
"Good morning." I said, sleep still evident in my voice.

Armstrong saluted me and I shrugged it off as Roy stood.
"I assume you didn't find her, Fullmetal?" He looked to Ed sternly. I took a tight grip on Ed's ungloved hand.

Edward let out a sigh when he saw Roy. He looked over with a slight nod to Jean, and the Lieutenant nodded back, his teeth clamped over yet another cigarette.
His face...was less than reassuring.
"....We didn't....not here in the city at least..." Edward started.
"Kiri...might have found transportation into a more remote area...sooner than we'd expected her to.." He squeezed Shiba's hand back, reassuring.

"I gave you the three days you needed. Shiba, go give them the hotel keys." I nodded and pulled thm from my coat pocket and walked towards the desk, not wanting to let go of Ed's hand, but I did. I handed them to the clerk and he bowed and I headed back.
"I gave you ample time to find her. And here I find the two of you sleeping the day away!" He yelled sternly, getting in Ed's face. I pushed my way between them.
"We were up all night scouting the city looking for her, sir, with no previal. I knew she liked to be active at night, but we didnt find her." I said, almost yelling, back at him. He stood back and sighed, running a gloved hand though his hair. I looked back at Edward and winked. I looked then to him.
"Can we discuss this further in private sir?"
He nodded, signaling for Armstrong and Havoc to cuff them. Armstrong went behind Edward and took his hands and put them behind his back and locked them in special cuffs, so his hands were far apart enough to not touch to cause alchemy. Mine were the same as Havoc approached me.

Edward sighed, he knew that this was coming..he should have been expecting it.
"....Well...Damn..." He sighed.
"She wasn't THIS much trouble when she was here the first time." He laughed.

[MY LONG POST AND YOUR SHORT ONE!!!! *FLAILS*]

Roy sent him a not so amused look and grunted.
"Come on, back to central. I have a nice cell for each of you, picked out." he headed out the hotel door and led Armstrong and Havoc towards Centrals Building.
I sighed, wiggling my wrist in the tight contraption. I looked over at Ed, my eyes kind of teary.
"I'm... glad we spent our last night of freedom, well, together." I said, trying to smile.

(Couldn't THINK OF ANYTHING!!!! T^T)

Edward looked over.
"Hey now...No tears, alright..." He tried to smile...but his heart just wasn't in it.
"You'll get the major back here started if you keep that up." Last-ditch effort....eh, Edward wasn't willing to risk Shiba for anything...not even freedom...he supposed..their only hope..was if Kiri waltzed back into Central of her own accord.

Kiri sat watching the world roll by, her hands were folded in her lap, and her face plastered to the window...she didn't want to have to run off again...but as soon as they hit the train platform...she'd have to....Edward couldn't meet up with Winry and not understand the situation Kiri was in...but then again...what if she met with that Mustang man first....she shivered openly at the thought...oh well...either way...she was going back....either way...she was going to do something with her second chance....and not waste it like her first go around..
"I'm coming..." She muttered to herself.
"I'm coming back....better break out the cage again..." Her eyes were set, and more than a little cold.

I looked to him, one finally fell into the dirt we treaded on.
"I don't want to be locked up, I want...to be free, live like I've always wanted to, in a home, in a life where I didnt have to worry abut anything...Edward...I love you..." I said.
Roy sighed as they started up the steps.
"Havoc, you know where she goes. Please take her there while I have a word with Fullmetal." Havoc nodded obediently and dragged me off before Roy and Armstrong. I struggled back.
"No, where are you taking me? Please, I wanna stay with Ed!! Please!!! Roy!!!" But before I could try to get even a glance from Roy, I was inside the building, being led to my chamber.
Mustang shook his head.
"feisty little runt, isn't she?" he looked to Ed and grinned.
"But you know that all too well, now don't you."
Inside, he opened his office door and let Armstrong in, then he closed it. He slowly made his way towards the window and stood, his back to him. There was silence for about a minute.
"What do you think I should do?"

"Shiba...." Edward started.
"....I know....I know...we'll get out of here somehow..." He said with a fervent nod.
"Trust me.."

When Havoc started to drag Shiba off, Edward started...he wanted to stay with her...but, the look Roy gave them both...suggested otherwise.
"Bastard..." Edward mumbled under his breath. He let out a growl, hunching down, wanting oh so badly to rip into that smug look on the Colonel's face.
"I think you should stay the hell out of our business for one." He said with a snarl.
"Two: You should let us go, it's not our fault you scared the piss out of Kiri...a SECOND time. You had her revived Roy, that's already going against all the basics Alchemy teaches, you should have known that when you tread into God's territory then you can't predict the outcomes!" His gold eyes glinted with fire, if only he could get rid of those damn cuffs.

Roy shook his head, putting his face into Ed's.
"Youre mine now. YOU are my business. Anything you do is my business form now on, until Kiri comes back into my possession, do you understand? Im fed up with Shiba's and your childish antics..." he walked back to his desk and plopped into his seat. He ran his hand though his hair and pulled a shot glass from his drawer, along with a bottle of Jack Daniels.
"You're old enough to drink now right? How's about a toast..." he poured the shot of Daniels into the glass,and one for him too, and walked up to Edward.
"To a happy...life in darkness." He poured the drink onto Ed's forehead, and downed his own.

"Childish!" Ed barked.
"Who the hell tread into forbidden ground ROY MUSTANG?!" He wrenched his hands around behind him.
"WHO THE HELL BROUGHT KIRI BACK!?" He glowered ahead of him, staring through Roy.
The Colonel stepped back this time with two glasses.
"Feh.." Edward said with a jerk of his head.
"I'd never drink a toast with you...not for that." Edward only had time to pause...and then his entire head was drenched in booze.
"DAMNIT COLONEL!" He cried wrenching back, shaking his head.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" He glared.
"You're an ass....." Edward shook his head again, trying to rid himself of the liqour that dripped into his eyes.
