::I notice that i'm not wearing my gloves and I pull my bare hands back- I hoped he didn't see my transmutation burns and I smiled back at him, setting my hands in my lap. He looked cute when he smiled.
"I'll Try to see past that, Edward Elric.. I really will.." I sighed and the waiter came and took our orders and walked off. I folded my fingers together and rested my elbows on the table, then my chin on the net of my hands and looked at him admiringly "So, where you headed to next, Fullmetal? Surely you're not staying long." I crossed my legs under the table and shifted in my chair. I groaned, thinking about the one bed and i closed my eyes. Ill worry about that when we go home, I guess.. I thought. I was glad he hadn't noticed that my cut was gone, that he so gently dressed only a few hours earlier::

"Thanks Shiba." He sighed and slumped back in his chair.
"Hadn't really thought about it...Mustang wants results...but if I go abck and tell him that all me and Al found was Scar and his new sidekick...that won't do Kiri any good would it?" He leaned forward and interlaced his fingers over the bottom half of his face, concentrating on his glass.
"So I guess....I'll have to see where she's going...since she's so dependant on us helping her find Scar...and if she goes with you...I'll be right behind." His eyes slid up into Shiba's and he smirked.
"You don't mind do you?"

::i nodded at him and sighed softly. The sound of violin music filled the air and I closed my eyes, still listening to him.
I open one eye, looking at him "I..guess not. So youre gonna hide from your boss until...Kiri goes back with Scar?"
My eyes widened at him, catching his gaze with mine and I slid my elbows off the table, knocking my silver ware to the floor. Picking them up quickly, I look back to him blushing and sit back in my chair "Uhm, I guess I don't have a choice in the matter, do I?"
The waiter placed the plates down before us and refiled my glass.
I pointed to his braid "So, I guess you did shower after all? Did you have hopes of dining with me this evening, Ed?" I ginned at him cutely. I enjoyed teasing him.::

"I don't look at it as 'hiding'...more like taking a well deserved vacation." He smiled and shook his head.
"Nope, Al tells me that once I get something in my head, I'm too stubborn to stop until I've got it."
As Edward picked up a fork and began to dig in, he shot a glance at Shiba, grinning like the proverbial cat that ate the canary.
"Maybe.." He smiled and looked away.
"You did set the offer on the table."

::I laugh "You're ditching out on your duties...Oh well. More of an Elric than a dog I guess..." I winked at him and began to eat my spaghetti, twirling it on my fork.
I quirked an eyebrow, swallowing. "So, are you telling me I'm in your head? And you wont stop until you have me?" I blushed and fixated my eyes with his, and I took a sip of my champagne, keeping my eyes locked with his.
I smile at him and shrug "I'm glad you showered... your skin is alot lighter and looks softer than it did when we first met. And I should have known you wouldn't refuse a free meal, with or without me" I laughed and continued eating carefully. I loved to just slurp spaghetti but i wanted to leave a good impression of myself on him.::

He only grinned, his cheeks turning a little pink.
"Yeah, I guess." He had just gotten a wad of the spagetti into his mouth before sucking in a harsh breath, he choked and sputtered what was left in his mouth back out onto his plate.
"Wh-what!?" He coughed, shaking his head.
"That's not what I meant at all!!" He burned red, and downed half his champange before he realized what he'd done.
"Crap..." He kept his head down, and knotted, un-knotted, and re-knotted his napkin again and again.
"..uh..uh...Thanks...I-I guess...." He slowly picked up his fork and rolled the pasta around on it before retrying that last bite...slurping the last few strands before stopping and looking over at Shiba in complete horror...he finished jerking the noodles into his mouth and muttered an apology..he hung his head and grumbled to himself.
Great Ed.. He thought.

::My eyes widen "Edward, chew your food, no rush..." I put my fork down and sip my champagne again.
I smile at him,and cock my head to the side "You look cute when you get all flustered... I hope you know." Finishing up my meal, the waiter came and took our plates and asked if we wanted dessert.
I looked to him "Still hungry?" I laughed at him gulping the hard drink "you like that huh?"
I dab my lips with the napkin and push my glasses up the bridge of my nose "So.. do you like sweets?" I tried to change the subject to calm him down. I could tell his heart was racing.::

He blushed only harder, a mix of the champagne and Shiba's compliments rushing to his head. He shook his head, he'd had his fill and was really only wanting to get back to the room..there was a buzzing in his head that didn't seem to go away...and the room was starting to turn.
"Shiba...I think..I..." He swayed a little in his seat and then smiled distantly.
"Uh huh...they're good."

::I stood up, and put the money down on the table, I walk over beside him and kneel "Ed, are you alright?" His eyes were twitching and distant, did that little amount of champagne effect him?
"Do you want me to help you home?" I put my arm around his shoulder and look into his eyes::

"I'm fine...just...just a bit woozy...think...I ate too fast." He was grinning like an idiot and as Shiba helped him to his feet he smiled, pressing his nose to hers.
"You know...jur...jur a very pretty lady...very pretty..." He flung his arm out and laughed.
"And I--...think I am drunk....Al's gonna kill me." he snickered, pressing the back of his hand to his face hiding his red cheeks and muffled laughter.

::I put my arm around his back and under his automail armpit and hold him to my side. "You should have eaten slower...silly.." I walk him out, slowly, watching his fumbling feet.
My blushed immensely as his nose touched mine and I pull my head back and plug my nose "Edward..champagne breath.. c'mon...maybe we should get our own room so Alphonse doesn't find out.. And its the booze talking about me, so I'll just pretend you didn't say that.." I bit my lip and adjusted his weight under my arm and walked toward the inn slowly::

He frowned childishly as she helped him out.
"You know what they call booze? Courage in a shot....I wouldn't have said it if it wern't true.." He hiccuped and swayed to one side and then the other.
"I...I heard you in the bath...don't notice huh? Liar...I've noticed...your...your cuteness...es..." He stumbled into a wall and stood there leaning against the brick.
"Damn...liquor....minors..given it to 'em anyway....."

"I've got a bad feeling." Kiri looked over.
"How so?"
"I'm not sure...but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Ed." She sighed and looked back out the window..she wasn't going anywhere...not with those guards down there. They'd just have to wait it out...Shiba and Edward should be back soon....she hoped.

::I frowned and looked away "Ed.. just be quiet before you regret something you say. Your words mean nothing to me while you're drunk.." I swayed with him and pulled him closer to me "Ah, c'mon Ed, focus on walking here..."
My eyes widened and I looked over at him "Y-you heard what me and Kiri were saying?" I blushed and looked away cursing under my breath. Maybe he was making it up.. but he was right on the money about our conversation about cuteness... I bit my lip and pulled him back from the wall "C'mon... lets get you a room and get you to bed... before you throw up on me.."::

He nodded and swayed back out into the street, his stomach lagging behind. He lurched and staggered all the way back to the hotel, at last silent.

"EDWARD!" Alphonse cried as loud as he dared when he opened the door.
"What happened?" He turned a concerned gaze to Shiba as Kiri poked her head out over the metal shoulder plate.
"He's drunk..that's what happened. Idiot." She turned back inside and cleared off the matress.
"You'll want to bring him out of the hall before he.." A thud behind her and she sighed.
"Collapses." She made her way back out and looked at where Edward had fallen to the floor.
"I really shouldn't be doing this." With a heave she threw him over her shoulder and turned inside.
"Shiba..I'll need you to stay with him for a moment if that's alright." She all but threw him onto the bed and turned back to Alphonse.
"You, I need to help me carry a bucket or two of water up here."

::I blushed and scratched the side of my cheek; my hair was a mess from trying to keep him standing "He..ate too fast and picked up the wrong cup when he ate.." I laugh and watch Kiri pick him up; it was unbelievable how strong she was. She slammed him down on the bed. As they walked out I went to his side and pushed him up, and took his coat off then went to his feet and pulled off his shoes. Pulling his coat off, his watch came loose from his belt and fell to the floor, popping open. I picked it up and read it "Dont Forget 10.03.8? Hm.." I closed it and ran my fingers over the dragon relief.
"Poor guy, he's so wasted.." I whisper. i brush the hair from his eyes and sit on the bed beside him. He looked so calm and pale at the same time. I should have taken the drink from him, but how would I know he'd react like this? I touched his cheek softly and looked him over. His automail was cold and shimmered under the moonlight that shined though the window.::

"I can believe that." Alphonse sighed.
"Brother you're always so reckless.." Kiri tapped her foot waiting in the doorway and he gave up, following her down the hall, only to return minutes later with two buckets, one in each hand, Kiri carrying a third that she was sure she would need. She made it back over to where Shiba was and knelt by the bedside.
"There's no help for it..I'm not wasting time in the morning with his hangover...this isn't going to be pretty..and by no means is it going to keep him from having one..but I think...that I can at least dull it." She hauled a bucket over to her and with a clap of her hands, had a bucket of ice.
"You." She pointed back to Alphonse.
"I'll need you to break that up, you're brother's going to need it." She turned back to Edward and sighed.
"I hate you..." She muttered clapping her hands once more. She winced, already there was a tingle in her fingertips...she hadn't waited long enough between the last time. She mentally shrugged and went on..nothing she could do about it now.
The liquor was hard enough to discern from Edward's other fluids..but once Kiri had a steady stream, it became easier. She was pale and beads of sweat rolled down her face when she was through however, and she turned to the other buckets of water and immersed her right hand without a sound.
"That...That should do it for now...Shiba..I'll leave him..to you." She picked her bucket up and moved back to a corner and lay her head against the wall as she slid to the floor. From a dead stupor, it was only a matter of time before Edward's eyes flickered open.

::I watched as they came back in and sighed, pulling my hand from his cheek. "Thanks..hopefully this will help him feel better..."
I watched as the fluid seeped from Edwards skin and the scent of champagne filled the air. I looked to her my eyes wide "that..was amazing..."
I smiled as his eyes slowly opened and I leaned over him "Edward? Can you hear me? Are you alright?" I breathed softly "Im sorry Ed..I didnt know that the champagne would do this to you or I would have taken it from you.."::

"I feel like I've been run over with a cart." He muttered.
"Cham....cham-pagen? That's what did this?" He groaned and clutched his head rolling over.
"Oh for the love of--I feel like I'm dying." He jerked the pillow from the head of the bed and stuffed it over his face, the lights, however dim were still too bright, and no matter how softly anyone spoke it was still too loud.

[do you have a rough time estimate?]
::I pull a handkerchief from my pocket and push it under the icey water in the bucket. I fold it neatly and look the pillow from his face "Come on now, lay back.." I put the cold cloth on his forehead, brushing the stray hairs from his face "Try to take it easy... I have the room until 12 noon tomorrow, so try to get some sleep. Is there anything I can do for you?" I look into his eyes, he seemed so pale::

((About nine, same as last night..or nine thirty...I almost forgot about youth meet. XP))

He only groaned and rubbed his hands over his face.
"You can shoot me...that'll help."
"What good would that do?"
"I wouldn't have to only feellike I'm dying."
"Just leave him be...he'll be fine after a few hours, if he'll stop complaining and rest."
"Who's...who's that...oh...it's you!" He flopped back from where he'd tried to rise.
"I don't need any of your smart comments right now." She rolled her eyes in her corner and flexed her hand.
"Thank you Kiri for getting me out of that liquor coma
You're welcome Edward, just don't do it again.
You can be sure of that, I'm never making this mistake again." She huffed and fell silent.

::I smile down at him and pulled the blanket over him, up to his chest. "well, i'm gonna try to get some sleep.." I stood up off the bed and sat on the floor, then laid down slowly. i put my arm under my head and yawned big. "if you need me, im down here.." I say to him.
I peeked up at him and smiled "get better... get some sleep." I curled into a tighter ball; it was a bit cold in here and i tightened my toes, they were like ice and i tucked my hands under my breast for warmth.::

Edward nodded with a groan and rolled onto his side and tried to sleep.

His dreams were filled with nightmares..haunting faces shot by him on floating bodies, a voice pounded in his head, there was danger....a threat to his very existance lay very close to him, as well as the one thing he'd been seeking. He tossed and turned most of the night finally falling still around the early hours of the morning.

Kiri watched him, she couldn't sleep, so she kept her head on her chest and watched Edward through half closed eyes, making sure to blink when Alphonse wasn't watching. Her attention was divided between Edward and Shiba...two Humans...two People....two Lives.
Golem... She thought bitterly.
One who has an allegiance to the one that summoned them....one...that has no life to call their own....one....that can only serve to protect...why is it then...that my half-life has been for that purpose....while taking lives? The world made no sense at times...and Kiri was sure that the farther she went into it...the more confusing it got.

::I opened my eyes in the middle of the night; I was shivering. I sat up and looked to Ed who was asleep. I smiled and looked over at his coat. I dont think he'll mind. I took his coat and pulled it over myself and curled into a tighter ball and finally fell asleep.
The sounds of birds chirping filled the room. I groaned and rolled over, keeping in my warm ball. I stuffed my head under his coat; it smelled like him, warm... and kind of like vanilla. I kept my eyes closed::

Kiri was up before the dawn, talking with Alphonse about the weather and other things...they left what had brought them together alone for the time being.
"Is Edward going to be alright." He asked.
"He should be...he's still going to have a headache..so he might be more irritable than usual." She laughed a little and smirked behind her hand.
"Serves him right, alcohol is a dangerous thing to dabble in." Alphonse nodded his agreement and sighed. Leave it to his brother to chug a flagon of liquor in one setting....by accident.

::I groaned and sat up, my eyes wearily looked around the room. Edward was still asleep, soundly. I rubbed my eyes and waved slightly to Kiri and Al who were sitting together on the floor. My neck hurt. The floor wasn't nice to me. I stood, Eds jacket falling off me. I yawned and sat down in the chair beside the bed and lay my head on the bed, picking up his coat and draping it over my shoulders. "MMmmm comfy..." I tucked my hands under my chest and breathed in deeply. My head was right beside Ed's. I didn't sleep to well, the ground wasn't nice to me and the draft in the room was almost unbearable. I opened one eye and wished I could just cuddle up with Ed under the warm covers, but that seemed...inappropriate, especially with Kiri and his little brother in the room. I closed my eye again and sighed deeply, shifting my weight to get comfy.::
