I hate elitest of any kind really. i can understand using certain resin . I Hate french resin becuase it yellows or if colours it fades like a bitch. ( all those poor bamicrony tiny owners) but otherwise i find most dolls to be of equal quality. I own a DZ and he's not quite as smooth as Enoh's kid delf but you can't see his seams. My Abio angel boy is amazing ( needs restringing though). enoh's iplehouse lion boy cid is adorable as all fuck but doesn;t seem any better or worse than the volks dolls some owners had at Anime north.

really unless a doll is made of really shoddy resin i see few real differences in them despite their prices.

@indigoat. Really if you want a doll your boyfriend needs to suck it up. It's a doll and it cannot hurt him. provided yoru not doing weird things with em or popping eyes our and messing with the headcap all the time there's little to creep out over. don't suppose you have examples of doll clothes?

Agreed. Kun is the only mold i really like from Volks and maybe the tenshis. I love iplehouse molds. I really wanted a bambicrony, but after hearing how hard it is to maintain fench resin. I was like No thanks! No point in spending so much money on something that will "deteriorate" fast over time. Actually the first doll I fell in love with was Soo Special from Luts. But over time, I kinda didn't really want an "anime-y" doll. I don't feel DZ. The sculpts aren't that appealing for me. I think its the thin lips they have.I tend to go for more childlike round molds, any thing that has some asian features is a plus.Thats why I love Vera since she has a more realistic mold.

I am still waiting for one more head to get back to me.I got a Mini-mee doll head from DIM.

The Yo-tenshi's are to die for, so small and cute. cannot afford but seriously want.

I try to steal Cid all the time, no luck. The lion really is nice and there's another I can't remember at the moment.

Bermann = will sell my soul for this doll

I wanted one of the coloured kumi's but nooo they turned out horrid and then the customers service go bad and now tons of people on DOA have been complaining about really bad defects in the dolls themselves.

I love half the Delfs and senior delfs bliss and abadon. Don't really like the kid becuase the round faced little kid look doesn't really work for any of the characters my dolls represent. Probably why I liked my DZ boy. they have a more mature face and body ( face is a bitch though, thin lips= hard as hell to paint)

ohh a mini me , you lucky girl ^-^

  • Bermann's are gorgeous, I have some friends who have one.
They went through hell and high water to get it, and got lucky when one went up for sale second hand. They've got a ton of other beauties, 15 or so I think, I've lost count by now.

I admire the Volks, but mostly because that's the one I hear most about from other people.

@ladyumbra: Like I said, the boy is a wuss sometimes. I do not have any examples of doll clothes at the moment, and even if I did I'm not sure I know where my camera is. If I find it I might whip something up to share. :3

I never had much attraction for male dolls except for Bermanns. They have a like a slightly haunting look that makes me melt a little.

I can't wait for the LA Dolpa. I want to get my hands on the BtSSB outfits and I hope to make it into the makeup classes.

I will try to take as many pics as I can possibly can.

They are even gonna have some people from japan fly over here just for Dolpa. I hope they have a super cute Kun one-off.

Harrow errybody 8D

You know what I seriously hate?
Pullips and generally all dolls with those crazy gigantic heads and little bodies D: No offense to any one who likes them but they seriously are not my style O__O

Pullips scare me, mostly it's their eyes. Being disproportionate doesn't help though, it just lends to an overall odd look. I am attracted ABJD's becuase they can look extremely human at times while still holding onto doll like properties.

it's been a week  Ian has new pants ( pictures coming) they were borrowed from a porcelain doll and are too short but at least he's not flashing his private bits anymore.

I was wonderign if people here prefer company made dolls clothes or clothes made from other ownsers or seamstresses.

Dolls you own:
Luke: AR Cien
Sheep: AR Ren Girl
Ellis: CP MNF Shiwoo
Sei: DZ Mo [Should be here this week XD Darn post strikes]

Favorite doll mold: My Cien.. I love his grumpy pouty face D:

Dream doll: Latidoll Redline M. But he's just so huge compared to my minis XD;; I may have to get him regardless though.

Why you enjoy BJDs: As a kid I was a complete tomboy.. I played with big robots and stuff :| Now I've suddenly hit the 'omg I need dolls' phase, and BJDs are so amazingly customisable.. it's great fun to make them clothes/paint them/ faff about taking photos. And they allowed me to bring my OCs to life [in a way ;)]

I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS. 8D

I love bjds. <3

Username: candy holic!, but I go as brandie.HOLIC everywhere else.. xD
Dolls you own: CP Delf Art Lolita Soony
Favorite doll mold: CP Soony
Dream doll: I'm fine with the ones I have planned. c:
Why you enjoy BJDs: They're really beautiful. Each person that owns one pours their heart into building it a character and it really becomes like its own being. They are wonderful models.

I am soon going to get a CP Cian, Dollshe Bernard, and a Ninodoll UM.PYO. Their names are going to be Claude, Lecithin E., and Coquelicot, respectively. x3 The only girl I have now is named Alabee. <3 She was reaaally expensive though, since she was limited. D: So it might be another month or two until I can afford my next doll.

Here's a not-so-great picture of Alabee. <33 My camera is broken, so I had to stick her in my scanner. XD

XDD I'd never considered scanning a doll before. And it shows just how lovely she is that she can still look beatiful that way ^^ <3

Seisei, you Cien is amazing ( I love those wine red wigs)

Candy, that was rather innovative with the scanner thing. Alabee is beautiful both in looks and name.

Ian will be coming with me to a doll meet on the 21st . There he will get some new pants and perhaps a new wig.

Dolls you own: Luts delf El (unnamed and not here yet) and Luts delf Dark Soo Vampire (body's here, head isn't)

Favorite doll mold: I guess El, but there other delfs I really adore as well.

Dream doll: Hmm... I dunno. I'm still getting into ABJDs, so I haven't thought about a dream doll yet.

Why you enjoy BJDs:
They're so beautiful and I was thinking of designing and making clothes for them as a hobby.

ooh an El, I do so love those guys. I think they are like a universally loved CP doll.

If you end up making clothes you'll have to let me know. there's not enough clothes makers out there for the bigger boys.

First I have to learn to make the clothes. ^__^;;

I have a lot of Japanese fashion books here and quite a collection of Japanese rock magazines, so I should have plenty of inspiration for when I do start making them.

Welcome to the love avicat. The love of addictive and expensive dolls. Although some more affordable ones are slowly being produced.

Any dolls in particular you find striking when you were looking them up?

Ohhh... I love the steampunk three there.

Avicat>> Sometimes it's a little cheaper to buy the doll in parts. Like get the body or head and then buy the other when you can afford it, then just put the head on the body yourself. Most doll sites can tell you how to do it. Then all you have to do is buy wigs and clothes. There's some nice cheap wigs and clothes out there if you look that are just as lovely and well-made as the expensive ones. It also doesn't hurt to find out what size eyes the doll takes and get some, too.. because some heads don't include them when bought seperately.

Just remember that BJDs are bigger than dolls sold here in America so you will have to get all their measurements for clothes-making.

The one thing on getting a doll is shopping around. Sometimes quality is worth the price... and if you find one you really love, don't stop considering it because it's expensive. If you're going to have an ABJD, you should get one that is going to make you happy and you will enjoy owning.. not just getting the cheapest one out there.

Thanks for the compliments. 8D I love Alabee, so I'm glad you do too~ <3

I second the notion that you hunt for a doll you really love. :O I think you'll know it when you see it. I fell into a very large paycheck about three days before Lolita Soony came out.. Soony was the mold I was going to get, and I am in love with lolita. xD I managed to get her even though there were only three made, so I really do think it was a fate-type thing. Keep hunting and you'll find the best. <3
