What genericly defines an old lady? Well... Cats... Also cooking, baking cookies, cleaning all the time, tons of flowers, gardening, 'covering' clothing, dislike of loud music... Alright... Other than the cats... That defines my daily life... I'm old, but I don't think I'm "old lady" old T.T I spend my days listening to the oldies station, singing to myself while I bake cakes and cookies, water my vegetable garden and tend to my flower garden... Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc... I even wear an apron >.>; And I hate loud music... OH! And when I hear kids or teens playing in my yard I stare at them through the blinds, where they can't see me... And I watch them to make sure they aren't causing mischief in my yard... I even have a habit of peering out my window and watching the neighbors when they are outside spewing drama at each other. *dies*
Am I an old biddy? I feel like I might be... x.x; It makes me a little sad.
Do you do anything that makes you think you're "old"? How do you think you'll be when you are old? Or are you already old? Should I start buying anti-wrinkle creams? ^.^;

I'm 23 and I work in a kindergarten class. They think I'm ANCIENT and they're a bit horrified that I'm not married and making babies yet.
Things that make me feel old besides 5 year olds pointing and gasping: getting excited over one day owning a Dyson vacuum, actually enjoying doing my laundry. Plus I also do the "peer through the blinds" thing because I love me a trainwreck - I just don't like getting involved in them.

Being surrounded by kids can do that ^.^; I'm in my late 20s (Not terribly old) and I'm a bus stop mom... So I'm there with about 15-20 kids at the bus stop trying to get them to all behave, every weekday morning ^.^;
Dyson... Were those the ones that you pushed by they weren't electric and they just sort of moved the dirt around? Or were they the ones that you could practically ride on because they had the big box on wheels you had to drag behind you?

The Dyson is a vacuum powered by some sort of inner wind tunnel science I don't understand. They have a lot more suction than regular vacuums and they're way expensive. My mom owns one and every once in awhile I steal it from her and run it all over my apartment.

I see... I looked up some photos... Scary looking vacuums ^.^; I'm more of a kitchen appliance and tea set sort of person. My dream is to one day have a huge kitchen with every sort of kitchen appliance imaginable... So no matter what you're making... you'll have all the tools you need ^.^;

I'd love a kitchen like that, but it would be completely wasted on me. I'm a terrible cook. My dream is to someday win the lottery and hire a cook. I'm useless in the kitchen.

Haha, I'd hire a maid ^.^; Then I'd do what the rich wives do and spend the day getting my hair and nails done while my maid does all my house work for me ^.^;
I do love cooking though ^.^; I've been cooking for well over 2 decades so I guess I've had time to improve ^.^; I have a habit of making too much when I'm baking though... So I end up having to pass extra cookies and cup cakes on to all my friends >.>;

I'm definitely starting to feel older, but just in the "I'm an adult? What is this?" sort of way. Getting used to all the little details of adult life is interesting, terrifying and wonderful. I got messed up with bus times the other night, which made me realize just how alone I am in the world now, physically. I can't call my mom to come make things right anymore. :D
Though, my friends who were freshman when I was a senior are all juniors now, which makes me feel old, and also a bit of wtf. They're babies, what are they doing growing up? Sheesh. (Which of course, it probably how my whole family sees me right now.) :P

Well I guess that is just typical of a normal mum I wouldn't be feeling old. If you do those things. I am only 18 and I make sure people don't do those things. It is just people that are teenagers generally mess things up. Plus having a veggie garden isn't so strange veggies are expensive now plus it may be one of those calming factors in your life. Like I said I am 18 and I read a lot but that is just cause it calms me. As for the old songs. Half the songs that are played on the radio now are just shouting or rap and they are just horrid. So no don't buy wrinkle cream.
As for me I never go out partying and loud music gives me a headache. So I dunno that makes me either a wet blanket or just old beyond my years.

I'm a few years older than you mangacatgirl and I would like to think that all of those things that you describe do not make me an old biddy. Yes, I have a nice streak of gray going but I believe that I have earned them and they make me wise, lmao! :roll:
While I haven't cooked for a couple weeks because I'm in lazy mode (we've been eating either take out or really simple stuff like sandwiches, :lol: ) I do cook and clean and bake.
I also stare out the window at the rotten children across the street to see what they are up to. They used to come over just to play with my kids' toys or they would hide them, steal them, or break them so now they aren't allowed anywhere near us. That, and their mother and I do NOT see eye to eye about anything.
I'm more liberal though. Not terribly liberal (there have to be boundaries) but I try to let my kids gain insight and knowledge through experience (both good and bad) so on one hand I'm the cool mom and on the other, I'm that old lady that listens to terrible music loudly. Or they think I'm the mean mom and they stay clear of me.
And... please don't take this wrong, I am just kidding with you... but... when did you get dressed? :shock:

I would consider myself "a grumpy old man" but not actualy old.
I sit in the pub and remonis about days gone by. I drink IPA at the bar. I despise children. I complain about how the human race has degraded sinse i was at school. I love cats.
I have to say though... if i cought kids playing in my garden(Thats a "yard" to all you yanks ;) ) i wouldn't watch them through the blinds...... I'd run out and start shouting a screaming at them to get of my land.... posably wielding one of my swords/knives.

I know what you mean. XD
I hate parties, I hate kids, I hate super super loud music (as in, the volume is turned up. Not music that is classified as "loud"), I hate crowds, I hate clubs, I hate the dating scene.
I'd rather spend my evenings curling up and watching TV, or on the computer.
Though I don't think that makes me old, so much as a wet blanket of a recluse. XD

I like loud music in style. Like rock and roll. I just don't like when music is turned up so loud that it hurts your ears. ><
And yes, most of TV is shit. But luckily, the few shows I like are the kind that every channel plays almost constantly. XD Like Friends and Scrubs.

Well I like to 'think' I'm a cool mom ^.^: I get my son all the 'cool new toys and games', and spike his hair up for him every day... I don't know if that makes me cool in actuality though ^.^:
I got dressed early this morning (Sunday).

I dislike loud music in style and volume ^.^; And I hate when the vocalist is screaming all loud o.o; It makes me feel like they're mad at 'me'...
I don't really watch the TV... Once in a while it'll be on for background noise... Usually the food network or the discovery channel, the news, the weather channel, Animal planet or what not... I like to keep my TV on educational channels only >.>; I figure if you're going to sit around and stare at a TV, you may as well be learning something while you're at it.

I can't stand too much noise, noisy kids, loud music etc
I feel old when people on sites like this are discussing their back to school/college etc plans - I left high school 14 years ago XD

Please, I live with 6 cats.
But god, I'm only 17 and I still feel old. @[email protected];
And if you're only in your late 20's, that's really not old.
As for the baking and gardening, sweets rock, and flowers are pretty. n.n
But I grew up with a greenhouse in my backyard and a father that bakes. Iz normal for me.
